In the off season, Dallas Mavericks forward Dirk Nowitzki is the captain of a crab fishing ship called the Northwestern. Using the name Sig Hansen, his exploits are documented by the Discovery Channel television show Deadliest Catch. As the captain of the Northwestern, Nowitzki has everyone fooled into thinking he is a life-long crab fisherman, even shedding his German accent to successfully convince the crew that he isn't Dirk Nowitzki of NBA team the Dallas Mavericks. He is known to pack on up to 30 pounds for the show, well above his regular playing weight during the NBA season.
- lolol... dork :DPonyBoy
- didn't that guy?... or was it another Deadliest Catch captain?PonyBoy
- didn't that guy DIE... I left out a pretty important wordPonyBoy
- No, still alive. http://dsc.discovery… Discovery remains mum about the Nowitzki ruse.mg33
- nah the other guy who died was Phil HarrisBuddhaHat

^ amazing resemblance, similar dimples on the left cheek, but Sig's hairline is a lot higher... It would be a cool story if t was true though....

^ Big part of the problem with the Thunder. They need to replace him with a real PG who understands he is not the best player on that team, and suddenly they will get better.
- Absolutely, too many 'hero' attempts that failed...BuddhaHat
- I disagree. He usually has great games. Chalk this up to inexperience. OKC will be even better in the next few yrs.desmo
- He's not their best player, end of story. With a killer PG working with Durant, they could be great.CygnusZero4
- When he takes as many or more shots than Durant, that means their best player isnt being used properly.CygnusZero4
- exactly. he needs to stay agressive, but play his role...showpony

I felt bad for the Thunder, but... fuck yeah! Go Mavs!

Why you guys talking so much trash on Westbrook? You do understand the kid has zero experience in the big games, right? You can't really mention last year's playoffs, because no one really counts getting axed bloodily in the first round by the Lakers to be any kind of experience.
Westbrook is young as hell to this league, and while he certainly needs to flesh out his decision making skills in clutch moments, in no way do I believe #0 thinks he's better than #35. KD can't make shots with two defenders on him—he's not Nowitzki. Therefore, RW has to try to make plays when KD is locked up, and a lot of the times when you see RW pushing to the paint it's because either Harden or Ibaka are outside the perimeter (not a good look), or locked up outside the key.
Last, I think Scott Brooks is a beast coach and did what a Doc Rivers or Phil Jackson would have done in his shoes last night. He let everyone get minutes last night that needed to see the pressure first-hand; the ones that are young and need to grow. Collison got taken out for Maynard like four times. Granted Collison pulled down too many fouls to warrant keeping him in, but Maynard was allowed to play in this game for a reason. The kid is solid and needs to do what he did last night: fuck up big plays and learn from them. It was undoubtedly going to come down to a Mavs win at the end of the series when they were already leading 3-1 in the series (no team has every come back from a 3-1 deficit in the conference finals).
My only criticism of the Thunder is they need to get rid of the hipster act. You guys are not the Kanyes of basketball:
- the thunder have so much going for them going forward. harden really impressed me this series/season, and i'm anxious to see how he'll contribute as a starter next year.showpony
- to see how he'll be able to contribute as a starter next year.showpony
- me too. van gundy said it best. scott brooks is talking abotu starting harden next season. WHY NOT TODAY?********

^ Also, the best thing that can happen to the Thunder next year is they get rid of Perkins.

^ And speaking of the axe...
Jason Terry needs to shipped back to the Hawks or something. He's been about the most useless dude on the Mavs this whole playoff season. It's sad when I see him get the ball and I remember when he used to drain 3's in his sleep. Now he's lucky to touch metal.
- he murdered the Lakers with like 10 3'sBattleAxe
- one game, dude.********
