Are you actually trying to bully me out of this discussion?
- twooh0
I don't think anyone is trying to "bully" you out of anything. The purpose of a forum isn't to get blasted with endless amounts of youtube videos, pages of reading, and speculative data and graphs. You can do that on a blog, so maybe that's what you should do.
I've actually lost a lot of my interest in discussing Bitcoin because there are just way too many fanatics on the net who can't hold a coherent message, or have an intellectual discussion about it. These messages drown out what discussions we should be having about it, which is why it considered spamming.
- twooh0
Seriously, there have been days where I ask a question about it here, and I have to go back 6-pages back on the same day because you've flooded the forum with graphs.
- Well if you come back after days?CableStudios
- Btw. I get the message. I'll stop posting out of respect.CableStudios
- There is a LOT of bitcoin news daily. I won't waste my time or other peoples in this case.CableStudios

I don't think anyone is asking you to stop posting. Just chill out on the mass postings and let other people have their voice.

Spam or no spam. This just happened...
"So, just minutes ago, Overstock started accepting bitcoin payments"
“I felt I had tipped my hand,” Byrne says. “I didn’t want someone else to beat us.”
- Before each payment is made, Coinbase sets an exchange rate, immediately converts the buyer’s bitcoin into dollars, and transfers the dollars to Overstock. The retailer never holds any bitcoin.CableStudios
- the dollars to Overstock. The retailer never holds any bitcoin. This does add liquidity to the market however.CableStudios

Rational for accepting bitcoin is nothing more than a marketing gimmick.
Provided that the transaction is actually done in USD and converted as such goes against what bitcoin is all about. This is no different than a business who will accept gold as payment based on the market price based on USD.
- < + Overstock just got free advertising again thanks to CSformed

Yes, but I can buy goods from the UK with no fee and get to benefit from the difference in exchange rate £/$. This means I can buy goods in the USA cheaper than UK. I need a new hard drive.

Could this crash Bitcoin? Mining pool nears 50% of Bitcoin hashing power

The existential threat to Bitcoin its boosters said was impossible is now at hand
- drgs0
has it crashed yet?
- animatedgif0
51% doesn't necessarily mean it would cause a crash and it has happened before in the past.
- No, but it means that one company can use the same money twice (as I understand it), making the value questionableformed
