- Agreed a bit silly to make a fuss unless there is also a new level-up feature like UW version of original MD'sprophetone
- There is a regular black one coming soon.microkorg
- yeah its called MK1autoflavour
- already own 2 Octatrack.. Mk1 and 2.. if it was a legit Mk3, would consider itautoflavour

- prophetone0
- pretty coolprophetone
- love the clean design, looks like could be very useful and for on-the-go messing around, a no brainer for $10?prophetone
- Looks really good. he's likely to make a small fortune from that if most of his 2m youtube followers purchase.microkorg

I need some advice/recommendation about a a drum pad or something like that.
I'm trying to incorporate samples in one setup that will consist of a battle mixer, at least one turntable, possible a bass and maybe a guitar...maybe this information is not that relevant but gives sort of an idea.
I'm looking for a pad that works live without computer.
I have a Vestax Pad-One but I really need a computer for that or a Vestax PDX 3000 mk2 turntable for example.I'm looking into a Akai LPD8 but I don't understand if I can use it without a laptop.
Today I stumbled ona Korg Volca Beats, 2nd hand for 70€.
What would you recommend?
Something that's portable but not too big.
My budget would be 100€/100$...for new or second hand.- LPD8 is only a usb controller. Akai however do MPX8 SD which is a Pad based Sample Player. Only limit on samples is size of your SD card.microkorg
- It's only £69 so fits your budget and certainly the only thing i can think of at this price point without going into MPC and other drum machine territory.microkorg
- There might be some 'drum pad' (i.e hit with drum sticks) based sample players that maybe take USB/SD too? But not familiar with that market.microkorg
- Also MPX16, same thing but 16 pads. Twice the price though.microkorg
- Are you wanting the sampler just to trigger loops or one-shots or do you want to record loops as you play live with guitar, bass etc?microkorg
- For that yuo want to get yourself a looper pedal. doubt they'll be about 100 thoughmicrokorg
- wow! thanks man! I read in more than one review and users in forums that the MPX16 is not as good as the MPX8.oey_oey
- trigger loops to start but to record loops would be heaven but 100$ is to short for that.oey_oey
- I'm also doing stuff with serato so maybe if I ever get the time I'll try ableton live with serato and then that's another story.oey_oey
- for now no laptop, I'm trying to buy a 4 channel mixer like a reloop rmx 80 or a pioneer djm 700 and then I'll have some effects too.oey_oey

i made a new track
- autoflavour8
- got around to patching in the machinedrum.. its offical, my 3 patch bays are maxed out .. 72 points all full. and no room for more patch bays, rack is full.autoflavour
- not that there is any room for any more hardware anywayautoflavour
- Love that space echofuturefood
- sweeetprophetone
- og machinedrum + monomachine combo is so choiceprophetone
- love it - a temple to excess!hans_glib
- Wouldn't you prefer a slimmed down minimalistic setup, like ableton + midi keyboard + soft synths, to quickly compose ideas?shapesalad
- I couldn't even imagine composing when there's so many menus and UI of various gear to remember just to add a triplet somewhere or tweak a filter.shapesalad
- Rei Harakami made amazing music with just one piece of equipment:shapesalad
- https://www.youtube.…shapesalad
- all those amazing compositions from a what essentially is a dorky roland sound module.shapesalad
- Those Moogerfoogers have never looked so expensive...keewee
- It says down the bottom right that you're Trumps Mate ?microkorg
- Lovely collection. The Minotaur rack ears are mad!mort_
- How do you like the Analog Heat? Do you use it on the mix or individual instruments or both?mort_
- its funny, people always think it would be a roadblock to have that many choices, but as its all patched in and ready to go, you just pick one and start.autoflavour
- I often write music just on the train with my laptop (which is just Ableton and headphones) but as I write lots of it with midi, so then I just come home andautoflavour
- send the notes out to the machines..autoflavour
- as for needing to learn everything, that's half the fun, but also its not hard to learn enough to use things..autoflavour
- Rei Harakami is one of my favourite artists.. not that I make anything even remotely like itautoflavour
- and yes, Monomachine + machine drum is the point of this photo..autoflavour
- Analogheat, I usually just use it on individual instruments .. have played a little bit with as a master effect, but usually it just seems overkillautoflavour
- moogerfoogers.. this is actually the second set, I have another set of 3 on the other side of the studio..autoflavour
- also yet to be installed is the Nord Rack 3, which once the ears arrive will sit above the Nord 2..autoflavour
- microkorg.. lol.. no trump.. a friends sticker.. https://www.instagra…autoflavour
- although just reading it again now, it can totally be read two ways.. I do not love the hate that Trump has..autoflavour

- ironic name given that's pretty much what it will end up doinghans_glib
- ?mort_
- it's called the dust collectorhans_glib
- and i don't really see it being used much.hans_glib
- Definitely wouldn't collect dust in my studio.mort_
- i stand corrected. it just seemed to replicate many effects already available in studios/modulars etc etc is all.hans_glib
- I was eyeing up the Vermona Retroverb but it's a mono unit. This looks like an interesting stereo alternative.mort_
- ^i want a spring reverb unit too. I was looking at the Ekdahl Moisturizerfuturefood
- That is a thing of beauty!mort_
- its cool, but its toooo big. who has space for that. definitely give a upvote to retroverb thoautoflavour
- You certainly don't :Dmort_

Is there any audio experts in here?
Here's my setup :
PC > 3.5 mm audio jack cable > Fiio Alpen2 DAC > AKG K171 M2
My problem, I have a buzzing/static sound in my headphones. Even when I touch the palm of my hand with the audio jack, it makes a static noise, like a jack from an electric guitar, yknow.
Any ideas how to fix that?
- you run analog in to your DAC?kingsteven
- Just found it! The USB cable that was powering the DAC was the culprit! My DAChave a battery so I just need to run it on the battery. Problem solvedBennn
- might want to replace the DAC with a usb audio interface. most are super cheap now.futurefood
- yeah, maybe, but it work fine now, so no need to spend for the moment :)Bennn
- how are you powering the DAC? from the computer? USB powered devices very very rarely like being powered from PC as there is so much noise. Worse with laptopsautoflavour
- try powering it directly from a phone charger or somethingautoflavour
- good idea! thanks autoflavourBennn

Enjoyed the discussion about process in this episode.
- I love these sessions. Usually tune in about an hour late though as can only jump on once the kids are down.microkorg
- Yeah, I'm always catching them a day or two later. I love that there's so little ego or bullshit with the people he gets on. All very down to earth.mort_
- Dave Clarke seemed to dominate and host most of this one though lol. Someone commented during it "Is this the Dave Clarke Show?"microkorg
- Heh. The girl was pretty quiet and obviously less experienced. I thought it was pretty cool how Dave Clarke tried to bring her out of herself and involve her.mort_
- Really liked the talk around committing to a part or a recording. Have some inspiration to try a different way of doing things now.mort_

- so much wild, angry screech and bloop goodness in such a small box, i love itprophetone
- $550usd so not a cheap little guy but a point was made that it packs the features of more than that $ if were eurorack modulesprophetone
- but yeah if you techno this is a beast esp for live knob twiddlingprophetone
- I have the Moog DFAM and it’s the most fun synth I own. This looks up there with it.mort_
- Hainbach’s take on it
https://youtu.be/VZ-…mort_ - saw this video earlier, man what a little box!microkorg
- 0 Coast from Make Noise also looks funmort_
- mort_1
- i have this and the 0-ctrl.
they totes awesomehans_glib - Nice. I have the 0-Coast on order. Does the 0-Ctrl add much? Do you use it to sequence other gear also?mort_
- the 0-ctrl is an amzing thing, way more than a sequencer, you can manually or auto control any of the 0-coast parameters as it plays. watch the vid.hans_glib
- I'm afraid to. I'll have to remortgage the house soon at this rate! :D Sounds fun.mort_
- i have this and the 0-ctrl.
