so Novation finally pulled their fingers out their asses and did a firmware update to their Launch control XL.. it now works nicely with Kenton USB Midi boxes, which in turn means it works with Elektron Octatracks.
Why the fuck they couldnt have done this to begin with is beyond me, but whatever, i just reordered one.. that shit is perfect for the OT..
anyway.. happy

oh yeah, I recently actually uploaded something to soundcloud.. shock horror i know. to be honest, i put my music out there all the time in the vantagepoint IN STUDIO videos, but they are usually backing tracks ..

Anyone have some kick drum tips, especially for Logic? I seem to have the worst time shaping the sound of a kick drum with nice reverb, because it always sounds like the reverb is too noticeable, or too, how do I say, stuttery?
I like the sound of the kick on stuff by The Sight Below quite a bit:
Any tips for this?
- I never use reverb on kicks.ApeRobot

- Ye - no reverb on kicks if you want it tight - play with eq / compression to make it punch through the mix.fadein11
- or v.little reverb anyway - obviously it is approproate in some instances.fadein11
- v.little reverb on that examplefadein11

Anyone else using TRADIO?
http://tradiio.com/space-travel-…It's a music platform where you can discover new music and invest virtual coins in bands. The better your bands do the more coins you get back. These coins can be traded for goodies like AIAIAI headphones, Festival Tickets, Vinyl etc
If you go check it out then please invest in some of my tunes and friend me on there :)

had some scratchy and unstable sliders on this new Juno 6.. did some research and found Deoxit Dn5.. after opening it up and a small bit of pulling apart.. this sprayed this stuff in the sliders and voila.. they sound so unbelivably better its like new..
anyway.. got an old synth, definitely recommend this shit.
- the filter slider was the worst.. it kept cutting out and sounding like it was connected to the LFO.. now its buttery smooth..autoflavour
- i've been wondering about spraying this on my mackie 32 mixer slider pots... some of them are a little fussy right nowprophetone
- totally worth it..autoflavour

- if this thing cannot disconnect from a laptop to work, even in a minimal way, then "music production center" should be retired as the tagline, sorryprophetone
- if this thing looks like that and is capable of being a complete standalone... then take my gawdamn money bro!prophetone

- pretty epic - a huge amount of work and people would go into developing this thing.inteliboy

I use a big hammer-key digital piano as my MIDI controller. But, I also like scoring stuff by hand, as I know written music theory well.
Currently just working with the synth sounds in Logic, while I decide on an actual synth to buy. I want to write some stuff, start producing things and get a workflow going.
QUESTINE: Anyone using a Pen+Touch Wacom? I'm thinking of buying a new little one, one of the "Photo" ones and having it sit on my piano workstation. I've never cared about the Touch feature until now, but it seems to make more sense for music over photography.
I guess my question is, does the "Touch" feature work well, or, when I use the pen is my hand touching the tablet going to occasionally trigger the tablet and screw up my workflow?
- Or, should I just buy an iPad?nb
- Note: I can't use the Touch Pad on my MBP while music is running, because it causes clicks and pops in the audio.nb
- ipad.. for any number of reasons.. but the music apps alone are worth itautoflavour
- Tried the Wacom, it sucks for controlling knobs. Going to buy myself something with control knobs.nb
