Arduino is awesome! The possibilities are endless!
Like orrin says, complexity is entirely based on what you want to achieve. I did some experiments (like graphical shapes reacting to light sensors / audio sensors and potentiometers) and was taught by an arduino genius, but I wasn't a code head at the time so it wasn't my thing.
But its less underground now than it was a few years ago, so there is loads of support and tutorials about.
YOU COULD DO THIS! -

^ got this thing and we´re building somewhat really awesome with it. i will keep you folks up to date!

- Only reason you'd go for the internet is if you're doing projects that will interact with RSS feeds really.orrinward2

this should do fine: http://shop.fritzing.org/collect…

ffs been trying to buy from that site since this morning,
can't find the register button,
they don't seem to want any money from me

we need fritzing as an ios app, that would rule skool

Ok, I'm finishing my first project, an awesome light system for my kid's stroller,
I'm wondering if anyone got a good tutorial on how soldering on circuit board, I'm scared of messing it up

How's the arduino projects going?
Is the official starter kit any good? (http://store.arduino.cc/eu/inde...
for a guy without any electronic knowledge, witch is better to start - arduino or raspberry
- GeorgesII0
Ciao Yovkov,
I own both and recently started using arduino,
the rasberry is a computer so you can load what you want on the sd and let the raspberry do the rest,
Arduino on the other hand is pretty fascinating, the learning curve isn't that hard as long as you're not afraid to burn some components.
both have a pretty good user base so you'll find everything you need.the starter kit is pretty decent, it will get you through all the examples, then you'll start going nut like me, tearing stuff up and looking for the perfect component,
let me know if you need anymore info :)

Grande Georges, ma che stai combinando?

Hey GeorgesII did you complete the arduino project? I'm not a coder but am willing to learn. I want to create some flashing LED type pf installation. What's the best starting point?
- GeorgesIV0
yeah completed it, but didn't finalize it because I only have a mega and it's way too much for such a simple project,
I'd advise you to buy a kit from sparkfun, they are a little more expensive than if you bought some pieces from ebay but they have tons of tutorials and most of the components are vettedthe language isn't that hard, once you get into it :)

It looks like it skews a bit older demographic, is there anything for kids?

I want to be, but am struggling to get interested in Arduino.
All I'm seeing are examples of a bunch of led lights flashing, and other pretty dull output.
Am I missing something or is it just a hobbyist thing?- midi controllers, synths, robotsprophetone

- with lights, yes, plenty of themuan
