- cool, what are you gonna make?scarabin
- could these process basic inputs and then control something based upon a time function? Like "on light input, wait x seconds, do something, reset?"detritus
- posting from the future
i had no ideas what to make, but I now love these chips, my next project is an halloween mask for my songeorgesIII

Nice - do you have any links to projects which push these guys' capabilities?
I'm curious to see what they can do - particularly as long-term I want to make an Arduino-based device that slaves multiple Arduinos. I presume the above isn't really suitable for that sort of thing?
What sort of thing are you planning on doing with them?
- Also, I'm at least 45% speaking out of my arse here - I have no idea whether slaving Arduinos is what I need. Or, indeed, how I'd do it.detritus

DIY Dual Stepper Motor Driver Shield for Arduino
http://www.electro-labs.com/diy-…insight on how step motor drivers work

i bought a bunch or arduino nano clones on ebay and none of them show up under "port" due to lack of driver support.
there are drivers and workarounds you can install for these but they don't work on any of my yosemite machines.
anybody successfully get one of these working or know where i can get arduinos or small arduinos for less than 25-30 bucks?

- gonna have to try that. i've got some small projects that just aren't worth $25 for a brainscarabin
- watch out for the chinese clones, I don't buy them anymore because if you look at them closely, most are half assed madeGeorgesIV

Georges have you built anything with Arduino yet?

am I the only one posting here??
anyway, this is fuckn awesome, a Pi and a photon to make this awesome netflix n'chill button,I think every designers should at least give arduino a try,
comon order now!!

- Already it's better than most of the shitty 'designer-designed' shades out there.
Just make version 3 kick ass!detritus - lose the base and hang it? or make it a table lamp?scarabin
- totally scar, I prefer version one, I'll probably try a new shape, but I'm getting sick of folding paper, @detritus, V3 will be a couple :)GeorgesII

FUCK YEAH,

- :) I was on this site a few weeks back. Have you seen how much $$$ there is to be had in shielded electronics?!
fucking ridiculous.detritus - (especially when, I think, Surrey Uni, launched an Android phone a couple of years back to see how well it would work in LEO... and well it did)detritus
- yep man, it is expensive, but shit, it's a fuckn personal sat eheheh + give it a year or two and the price will be low enough for an individualgeorgesIII
- neat idea, but more space trash, yayscarabin
- we should totally gather some bucks and send QBN LOL Cube in space!yovkov

Up-voted all of GeoresII's posts on this page to offset the idiot who's down-voting them for no good reason.
Good on you man for doing something creative and inventive. Have my own projects that I started about a year ago that I'll get around to again one day.

Sooooooooo excited to get a couple of these boards today. Why? I have a few ideas about building out an SP1200 styled, teensy-powered sampling drum machine. Using the fairly new audio library for these boards, you can build out complex beat boxes with sequencing, effects, routing, bu bu BITCRUSHING...
Imagine a diy kit that looked like an SP but had minimal components and the ability to perform in similar ways to the classic drum machines.
This guy has my attention for sure, he is already off to the races with his similar idea, inspiring.
https://hackaday.io/project/4179…
https://forum.pjrc.com/threads/2…- And that's not all! You can build out your complex audio sketches with an online tool. Wat!? http://www.pjrc.com/…prophetone
- nice!scarabin
- show us your progress!scarabin
- I will! I have an SP12 and have a dream to pull measurements on the case, make a wood plug, use for vacuum forming plastic clonesprophetone
- like in funky colors like fluoro pink, red, white etc... then screen a one color SP overlay onto it easy peasy, with rev'd artprophetone
- so end result, a teensy-powered SP1200 for like $150 in components. i have yet to mess with the bit crushing and low passingprophetone
- if i get traction with this project i will no doubt hear non stop about how this is stupid b/c will never be a real SP sound yadda yaddaprophetone
- not really the point though... but i will do what i can to get that crunchy 12 bit sound, but with an open source... and cheap! coooo!prophetone
- I'm excited b/c have been looking at arduino mega + multiplexing etc but this seems to be the easier ticket b/c powerfulprophetone

i'm seeing those "$5" pi zeroes on ebay for $50 a pop.
wtf
- supply and demand yo. all sold out as far as i can see, for nowprophetone
- yeah it's just crazy when they were literally giving them away free with magpi magazinesscarabin
- now i need one for a game boy i'm building but i'm not about to drop 50 clams on those shitsscarabin
- Just dev it on big clunky pi maybe, wait out for a re-supply, as soon as those get released ima buy a few for sureprophetone
- yeah i think i'm gonna use an A+ instead. it's still pretty small and my cram-fu is pretty keenscarabin
- cram-fu hahaprophetone

- Would be cool to make a large, translucent acrylic cube that you knock on once to turn on - a kid friendly control, has timed 9v ledsprophetone
