I find that the standard Apple headphones are the best for working out. Only because they are really light, flimsy and dont hurt the ear while you are moving about and doing your work out thing. True, sound isnt the greatest, but you are working out -- looking for perfect treble and bass shouldnt be much of a concern.
As for work headphones, I use these Bose OE. I have them for about 6 years now. Perfect sound and dont hurt my ears during long periods of usage. They fold up nicely, so its great for travel.
- Apple Ear Buds don't fit my ears properly. Sound like doo-doo too.mg33

if your concern is sound fidelity, stay away from bose. You can find better options from trusted brands at less cost :)Miguex - brands at a better price. :)Miguex
- I agree. Bose sound is so fucking weird. Pleasing, very pleasing, but faaar from accuratemonospaced

Headphone recommendation for my kid who's creating music, so needs to have as accurate and clear a sound as possible.
I've done research online so many options to choose from I have no idea where to start, they all have pros and cons.
Unfortunately I'm capped to $500 USD or so
Wired I think.

I picked up the Bose QC35's about 2 weeks ago. So far, they've been great with just a few little nitpick issues. Im happy with the purchase.

Looking for athletic, wireless options right now to pair with a watch (possibly Apple Watch) for running, cycling, etc.
Tired of having my phone and just want audio and statistics/direction(s).
I have some Jays right now, which sound fantastic and are reasonably priced; they have a wireless version of the same:

I've looked at various options, but live in the middle of nowhere and am kind of "going in blind" as they say.

LOVED my old AKG headphones... but some people hated them, as the pads hurt their ears, so try before you buy!
AND... beware of fakes:

The cheapskate in me wants the refurbished Audio Technica M20x for only $42.50. https://www.amazon.com/Audio-Tec…
But the "I love quality craftsmanship" part of me wants a custom pair of the AIAIAIs for more like $150-200.
I feel like anything in the middle would just be disappointment. Damn.

If you're still looking for workout headphones that aren't in-ear. these are a good choice:
