Oh no... another osx update.
Oh and fucking widgets.
No one cares about widgets.- Can we have no osx updates for 5 years. No new anything.shapesalad
- I can't wait to retire. My retirement is going to be a screen and tech free as possible.shapesalad
- The I retire, I want to bin my Mac and phone. Go back to paper newspapers, radio, and a rotary phone.shapesalad
- the *day*.. and no more typing, back to hand written mail.shapesalad
- That's a cool update. Stop complaining, it's free. Nobody forces you to update :)NBQ00
- Don't make promises you can't or won't keep.
And why wait until retirement?Continuity

Intrigued by the cycling updates on the watch.
For a couple years I just used my phone mounted to my road bike, connected to Strava and my Wahoo cadence and speed sensors. But then Strava stopped supporting the cadence sensor.
I bought a Wahoo computer and love that it's smaller than the phone, and I don't worry that the phone is gonna run out of battery. Syncing is easy to Strava.
I like the idea of the watch connecting to bluetooth cycling devices, but I'm not going back to using my phone on the bike. At least I have a newer watch with the always on display, but don't think I'm going to abandon the Wahoo computer since I only got it last year.

- Vision Pro, eh?ideaist
- Dare I say... they've nailed it?mg33
- The UI makes the Quest's UI looks like a hellscape of indecision.mg33
- Apple gonna Apple.
Pretty slick.ideaist - This is actually cool. Not the Metaverse crapNBQ00
- i like how they blend the digital and physical world. This has some potential. Still shitty you are stuck with a cable.milfhunter
- Where does the cable go?shapesalad

- is the lens, trim, strap, cord, plug, extension, battery pack, case, cloth to clean, and software to use all extra monthly subscription costs?whatthefunk
- Well it was better than Zuckerberg's Metaverse presentation. But lol @ the price...I guess this will be a niche product for some time.yuekit

- Didn’t Google already try this with Google glass? Those at least looked like regular glasses but people still freaked out_niko
- Apple has a lot of trust with its customers, warranted or not. Not many other brands have this (try getting support from Google or a 1 on 1 demo of metaverse).slappy
- I'll wait for the Vision Airok_not_ok
- Google Glass was the Vision Air.palimpsest
- That cushioning is going to get sweaty and grubby really quickly.shapesalad
- ^VR/AR wasn't around 10 years ago? You're correct, Google Glass was out 9 years ago. My bad.formed
- More like Vision ProN - capitalizing off that adult marketplace legitimizing new tech - will likely blow everyone away with nsfw experiences, email not so muchwhatthefunk
- Saying apple is late as if it had any cache is silly. They’re always late and almost always set the standard.monospaced
- thousands of people worked on this for years and it, somehow, didn't get leaked. Apple runs a very tight shiphotroddy

Apple Vision Pro could be their first big flop. Who wants to wear that shit in normal life. it's gaming tech ffs.
It's a no from me.- *big flop of recent times.
Also the cringe presentations nowadays.fadein11 - I imagine I'd lose my mind if my kids were vegging on this...it's bad enough how disconnected they are from life just on their phones_niko
- You can watch movies with it... alone.shapesalad
- do we need to buy 3-4 or do we all squeeze into one?fadein11
- what price is this going to be? spec'd out with custom bits, its surely 3-4k?kingsteven

Why don’t they show the person drinking from the can while using the Apple Snorkle Pro?
- can drinkers downvote. I'm saying, that can is going to hit the snorkel and you'll struggle to drink it all.shapesalad
- This is a product for straw users only.shapesalad

One last thing: a product that nobody has wanted for the last 6-7 years. Honestly, at this point google glass is looking pretty elegant.
- I see this more as a computer and entertainment device at home. For immersive stuff like gaming, movies and maybe even some work stuff since you can hook up MacNBQ00
- People in wealthy countries are single longer, not having kids, & living alone. This is perfect for them to watch movies, play games and have immersive wanks.shapesalad
- VR goggles have been around for years but they're still a niche product. I don't see how this changes things.monNom

Haven't watched it but interested to hear the principle beliefs for why Apple is going into "spacial computing".
- drgs-1
Instructions not clear. The CPU, RAM and all the computer parts are inside the glasses, or you use them as an accessory with your laptop?
- Inside glasses. But you can hook up Mac (OS) if you want to run the Macos desktop apps.NBQ00
- Can I play games on my PC with themdrgs
- inside glasses, in front of your eyes. The eyes you see appear to be a display screen, likely displaying your deepfake facetime doppleganger's eyes.monNom
- The external battery ruins it for medrgs

NYT article from a couple months ago...apparently some people at Apple had doubts about the headset...
- "It is considered a bridge to a future product, such as augmented reality glasses, that would have broader appeal but require technical breakthroughs"yuekit
- yeah, that's what is odd, Apple normally wait until the tech is there to do it properly. I guess there's some interesting software aspects though.fadein11
- ^ I guess like the Apple Watch, let the product simmer a while until it catches oninteliboy
- They mention the Tesla model of letting the high end early adopters buy in first, then expanding to mass market over time.yuekit
- Everyone wants in on spacial computing as it is the next platform. The problem is its incredibly hard, and farther out than investor types want to hearrobotinc
- I think it's a real question whether this is a product consumers want in the first place.yuekit
