Report: Apple Will Announce Its Watch at the Sept. 9th iPhone Event
http://gizmodo.com/report-apple-…

^ Although Paczkowski is one of the most reliable sources of Apple news, we've seen all kinds of conflicting reports about the iPhone 6 launch. So you'll just have to wait and see, like always.
- direct quote from the articlemonospaced
- I mean, you were 100% convinced Apple had a TV set a couple years ago too.monospaced
- I still think a wearable watch-style computer is a stupid move, at least in what people think of it now.monospaced
- the demand is there. Apple is a profit company. They will make a watch.benfal99
- so, you think they're making a timepiece?monospaced

They'll make something. No reason to hire that Burberry chick and the TAG exec if they aren't going after "fashion". I'd put money on an iwatch after the TAG hire (why would you hire a watch guru if you aren't going to make a watch? And who better to help with the efforts than a "reasonably" high end watch guy). Personally, I think those hires are pretty exciting and I am curious to see what they make. It'll have to be superb, though, or it'll just be another 'thing' (so far, the wearables are all useless "things", nothing most would buy).
Give me a super indestructible health band-like thing that is also very stylish and I'd buy. But I'll never replace a real watch with a disposable piece of technology.More curious to see how the stock behaves...so much perfection priced in right now
- < yeahmonospaced
- and stock is a huge BUY right now, it's got nowhere to go but upmonospaced
- I'm just so disappointed in the stupid ass fan ideas of what they think it will be. They're so depressingly badmonospaced
- Yup, but Apple is wise to site back, keep expectations close to the Samsung thingformed
- I have a hard time believing they can't blow that out of the waterformed

I hope they surprise, getting bored of the iPhone/iPad cycles nowadays.

can't wait for apple to invent the smartwatch so all the other brands can play catch up!
- History clearly states that Dick Tracy invented the smart watch. Samsung rushed to market with shit.monospaced
- Apple is not rushing anything and their whatever will be new and closer to an invention than anything we have now.monospaced
- Their ramp up in r&d funding over the last few years says they have been up to some big things we haven't seen yet.monospaced
- < and he's off - such a bellend.fadein11
- please, as if anything I was saying was incorrect or obtuse, and if you want to discuss, do somonospaced
- but just coming in to talk shit is getting old and only makes you look like a huge cuntmonospaced

I'm interested in whatever they come out with, but I like actual watches too much to think that I'd stop wearing them to solely wear a multi purpose electronic watch.
Anyone else feel they way? Not to be vain but I love the watch I wear most days, I've never seen anyone with the same one, and it feels very much a part of my personality. My gravitas, if you will. LOL
- Absolutely. I'll never replace a quality timepiece with a piece of tech. A good watch is style, technology is NOT styleformed
- Well it could be if done right. Not that I would wear one.********

It's health part of the watch and the new Health App I can't wait to see. And all the gadget that will comes later for it. It's the future! :D

I have no interest in a watch personally but LG's looks pretty nice...

I'm bored of my Macbook Air's screen border. Why does it have to be so big?
- lolmonospaced
- You know we're going to see retina, full width screens soon though right?Ianbolton
- no, I missed that announcement from Apple, lol, nor do I really care that muchmonospaced
- I'm still waiting for a phone with the built-in projectorIanbolton
- pretty sure those have already come and gone, my friendmonospaced
- Ianbolton0
Sorry, just realised we're talking about watches. I never wear a watch.
- rosem0
maybe you don't wear a watch right now because currently it can only tell you the date/time? :p
- ummm excuse me but...

I was recently working an event that I designed the environment for, and I was on-site supporting the event team and taking photos for our records. Like most event teams at this firm, they consist of primarily overweight older women.
To the point, almost every single one of these overweight women was wearing a Fitbit, and would not ever shut the fuck up about it. Yeah, I get it, you walked today, a lot of steps, almost like a normal person.
Until this experience of spending every waking moment and meal hearing about their Fitbits while they shoveled fettuccine alfredo into their faces, I had no idea that health-related wearables were actually taking off. But this changed things, and I have no doubt that Apple can get in on this shit and make a fuckload of money. These same women will buy whatever Apple makes because they also have iPhones and shit like that.
- Yup********
- LOL @ "Almost like a normal person."mg33
- totally on monobenfal99
- overweight middleaged hospitality women are now Apple's target market - wow how things have changed.fadein11
- not the target market... one more market, and the point is that people actually want to track health data real-timemonospaced
- Yup

I don't know if i'd shell out for one yet but virtually nobody calls me anymore. It's all text, email, fb and whats app these days.
Basically, I would quite happily leave my iphone at home 75% of the time if my watch received text messages and email. Or am I totally over estimating this watches capabilities? LOL
- You'd have to have your phone nearby anyway otherwise you'd need to put your sim in the watch, I guess...********
- Not sure if they'll be individual 4G devices or just connect with your phone... The latter I'd have thought.********

I really, really, don't see the point/need for a watch like this. It's like Facebook splitting its messenger off into a second app – why do I want two things to do something one already does?
- I feel the same, based on all the internet assumptions and other "smart watches' that existmonospaced
- here's to hoping Apple does something a little more unique, more user-friendly, more usefulmonospaced

^ How can people say stuff like that?
Mercedes only need 3 models of car?
Pantone should only have 256 colours?
McDonalds should only sell A burger? We consume modern tech like little crack babies. Why not?
Did we need an ipad mini or a 27" iMac?- http://media-cache-e…********
- Too many products dilute a brand.iCanHazQBN
- Having a limited amount of products creates exclusivity.iCanHazQBN
- Look at DELL. They have a TON of computers. I can't even name ONE of them.iCanHazQBN
- While any DELL user can name the iMac, Macbook Pro, and Macbook Air.iCanHazQBN

Is technology small enough to make something so useful AND powerful? I'm optimistic, but also not bothered. Wouldn't mind seeing some new innovation though.

Good or Bad, Jobs believed in the saying by Gretzky, I skate to where the puck is going to be, not where it has been.
if they come out with a watch not only have the skated to where the puck has been, they've skated headfirst into the fucking boards
- I dunno, so far the smart watches out there are really just pushing phone info... not that useful, and not where the puck ismonospaced

why would anyone need an app to stay healthy?
Is the neocortex in humans shrinking to the point that you need an app to compensate for the lose? cant manage your health from your own education?- Yuri, sadly when I see the domination of "expert" culture, I thunk the war is already lostGeorgesII
- Statistics can be a huge motivating factor. If you can see yourself improving through data, it's a mental boost.iCanHazQBN
- Makes you wanna go out the next day and beat/sustain it.iCanHazQBN
- also food knowledge. the app could help people realize that their diet is the main factor in health choicescapn_ron

- Apple being followers again. Nice trendy 45 degree shadow. You're useless without Steve Jobs.iCanHazQBN
- lol, I think it has something to do with a sundial and not so much a design trendmonospaced
- < and such a teaser campaign after everyone knew this was the next product for a year.fadein11
- you're funny, criticizing them for not being secretive enough?monospaced
