Well one thing is hating on Apple, we all like it you know.
But folks, Windows 10 is an option and the OS is years ahead of Mac OSX. Only because its features do not work exactly as they do on OSX does not mean it doesn't have it or 3rd party alternative.
The bitching and unwillingness/incompetence of some users to use a stupid Win10 machine is just infuriating. It's a fucking computer with a dead easy UI that works like this since fucking 1995. Adobe, C4D, Maya and all other major apps we use have the exact same UI on top. Go back to a drawing board then if you can't use it.
Stupid mac audience.
- Cool story bro.********
- I'm going to take a proper look at Win10 next chance I get. I mean, not because of your shitty post, but I'm planning to.********

- I occasionally have to use Win10. It's ugly as fuck. The end.inteliboy
- I boot into W10 once in awhile. It's okay but will never feel as user friendly as OS X to me. Maybe it's the window and icon style or my lack of experience.monospaced
- I also haven't been forced to "work" in Windows since XP so I'm far behind. I'm seriously considering it for my next machine though.monospaced
- For me there's still an underlying stigma attached to Windows in regards to security and polish, but I'm open to explanations that would change my view.monospaced
- Remember when everything was brushed metal? *That* was ugly as fuck. And have they fixed the view options in OSX yet? After, what, 10 years?face_melter
- Here are two separate Finder windows, and look! All your icons are fucked in this one, but aligned in that one. Yeah!face_melter
- yeah, you can set different views for each window (very useful) as well as a default view for new onesmonospaced
- There's no switch to reset Finder windows to a default, so old folders remain all fucked with tiny gnat's fanny icons when you open them. Yeah!face_melter
- hmmm ... set your default folder and the style you want it, and everything should fall into place moving forward ... I never use icon view; columns onlymonospaced
- Cool story bro.

For me, the peak of apple designing for Pro users was this mac book pro:
easy to pop out/swap battery, HD, ram.
Especially critical if you spill a glass of water on your laptop. Within seconds you can get the battery out, removing risk of an electrical shorting. Salvage HD before water damage. Let it dry out for 48hrs, completely saving butt. Try that with the 2016 macbook pro...

While the new entry-level 13-inch MacBook Pro with function keys has a removable SSD, the same cannot be said for the Touch Bar model.
- Really getting tired of Apple's shit now.face_melter
- It undoubtedly makes manufacture easier and better. I doubt whether their truly 'pro' users will forgive them if and when their computer implodes though...detritus

I recently realized Apple stopped making their Cinema/Thunderbolt displays. No more 17" MacBook Pros and no more big-ass displays. I guess designers need to start looking elsewhere for hardware.
To anybody who used to like the Cinema displays, is there another, comparable 27"+ monitor you like?

- Apple partnered with LG to make a 4K and 5K USB-C based display: http://petapixel.com…evilpeacock
- I've got a 4k LG, it's pretty good. Cinema displays were just repackaged LG screens anyways...zarkonite
- Dell's got some good ones too, frankly screen technology is pretty much a cheap commodity by now.zarkonite
- There are some great sales on the Dell's now, too. I've got a up3214q that's pretty good. Matte screen is great (I never understood how pros could use glossy)formed
- U2715 here, it's great, and matte tooOBBTKN

This is the Apple Thunderbolt Display Teardown by iFixit. Basically the screen has the exact same component as a Dell U2711 - and the part itself is an LG (LM270WQ1)
So other than the look it's all the same.
- screen is the same, but I think the apple model was also a thunderbolt hub and other shit, right? I never had onemonospaced
- Yeah there's all kinds of really useful inputs, but as far as the panel's image quality goes it's the same.zarkonite

Since getting the iPhone 7 (previously had a 6) I have to say that the force touch feature is among the most useless and frustrating Apple has added to iOS ever. Typing and trying to tap into text to edit, delete, etc. is so impossible most of the time.
Anyone else completely hate it?
- one can turn it off, yes?e-wo
- Other than it making it a bit harder to get into 'wiggle mode', I've had no issues with it. Positive addition for me.Nathan_Adams

Jony Ive's much-hyped Christmas tree is underwhelming.
"There are few things more pure and beautiful than nature, so that was our starting point, layering various iterations of organic forms with technology,"
"Our aim was to create an all-enveloping magical experience that celebrates our enormous respect for tradition while recognizing our excitement about the future and things to come."
Because nothing says excitement about the future like a dark, unlit Christmas tree.
Sir Jony Ive
- the entrance part you didn't include, which has weather and lighting effects. but no, it's Apple related, and must be shat on.inteliboy
- There are few things more pure and beautiful than nature, so we killed a fucking massive tree and a few small ones, and projected pictures of live ones on them.craigatkinson

- noneck - why would you ever need 4 airports? is your wifi shit? you live in a castle? bizarre.fadein11
- They are good routers, Apple or not. Also fantastic for AirPlay audio.
Even if routers don't earn them much, they build the Apple ecosystem.raf
