Analysts Cut iPhone X Shipment Forecasts, Citing Lukewarm Demand
https://www.bloomberg.com/news/a…
"Apple Inc. looks like it’s having a not-so Merry Christmas.
Analysts have lowered iPhone X shipment projections for the first quarter of next year, citing signs of lackluster demand at the end of the holiday shopping season."
- thats because its a awful design .. it best not be the actual direction from now on..autoflavour
- That notch and that price tag...Chimp
- on another note, Surface Phone looks like it could change the landscape....MS is killing itformed
- INterestingly the iPhone X sold incredibly well, made them record profits, and it's still nearly sold out.monospaced
- Every year, after Christmas, sales drop for all cell phones, including apples, and analysts say it's doom. They are always wrong, every year.monospaced
- How long before they start slowing down these units?SteveJobs

- the x is fucking great, guys.doesnotexist
- I dig my X. I sat and played w/a Pixel2 again yesterday... very glad I have my X. Wife and brother agree...PonyBoy

"Apple has apologized to customers for how it rolled out an update that can slow down older iPhones. It is offering cheaper battery replacements to make up for it.
In a lengthy message posted on its site Thursday, the company gave an in-depth explanation for the controversial update. To make amends, Apple will temporarily drop the price of replacement batteries to $29 starting in late January. The price will go back up to the usual $79 in 2019."
http://money.cnn.com/2017/12/28/…
Honestly, how about just not slowing down the phone???
Also, I wonder how they'll replace the battery on my phone with a badly cracked screen.
- My phone got crazy slow. I used their service app to check the issue. they said get a new battery. Glad I waited.sofakingback
- GFY utopian
- *installing new battery sets speed setting to fast*cannonball1978
- They're only apologising because they were found out. Interesting to see how it goes in France, they have a law which protects against planned obselecence.face_melter
- Hmm. I read the Apple letter, and they're "apologizing" about the "misunderstanding" and the way they communicated about how batteries age.Krassy
- They are not admitting that they rolled out an update that slows down an old iPhone.Krassy
- ...or am I missing something? Here is their letter: https://www.apple.co…Krassy
- they are admitting that they slow down older phones to save battery life when the battery becomes worn downmonospaced
- Oops...Just a lil’ misunderstanding! - Appleutopian
- i cant decide whats worse, a slow mobile phone, or a phone with short lasting batterydrgs
- Reversing handicapping the processor is the preferable solution. There should be a demand for this.instrmntl
- They just lowered the price of the battery temporarily to entice people to their stores and slip and slide a new phone to a customer. It's like a forced upgradekgvs72
- utopian3
For the love of Allah...you guises really don't believe that Apple was concerned for the battery life? So Apple decided to slow the iPhones down to protect your outdated iPhone.

I'm starting to notice that there are numerous links within web pages on my iPhone X that I'm having to hard press (for lack of a better word) with one of the Force Touch gestures, as opposed to a simple tap that would previous open a link.
I literally can't just click links anymore in Safari; I've got to press as hard as possible, and it does the little pop up to show that it's opening a new page.
Anyone else noticing this?
- yes! annoying as fuck.lvl_13

Anyone have issues with the updated High Sierra? My computer now runs like shit, thanks Steve!
- dopepope0
I upgraded today. All my items in my pallets in ZBrush used to be alphabetically organized. Now they're scattered randomly. Like alphabetical organization was eradicated thru out the app. It's insanely frustrating.
I also think my monitor has gotten much darker overall. I had to turn the brightness up way past half way just for it to seem normal. It's not.
Other than that, it's pretty much the same.
- sofakingback1
I'm pretty over Apples bullshit at the moment. All my devices and laptop are busy and slow as fuck from the updates.
As I mentioned before I had to reinstall my entire system after my last update.
My phone is a fucking brick.
and now I hear in the next couple months older devices like my iPad mini 2 won't be supported on next iOS update.
----
I not in the need of a new computer, so I'll wait on updating that... but I need a new phone, I'm seriously considering the switch to the Pixel 2.
I love google and all of their apps, I only use their apps on my iPhone anyway... but I wanted to ask some people on here that might be using both Apple products with an android phone.
Is this just a no go? Will I be even more frustrated?
- same here....it's called Apple fatigueutopian
- "busy" = "buggy"sofakingback
- fatigue indeed. It's just one thing after the other. And you know what, Apple's products have always been appealing because of their simple, easy to use...sofakingback
- design. I don't get that feeling from their products right now, even the new, top of the line stuff blows. MacBook Pro and iPhone X have negative reviews.sofakingback
- As an android user for a few months now, coming from a blackberry, android kinda sucks. It's really underwhelming.monNom
- Typing / autocorrect / text selection are all really behind the curve, and only in the latest android have they added multitasking. Brutal.monNom
- My next phone won't be an android.monNom
- Apple just doesn't give a fuck anymore and all their competition have worst products than they do. So why should they care?utopian
- Fuck, really? I was selling myself on the Pixel 2 damn it.sofakingback
- lol @ monNom - talking utter nonsense about Android. What the hell are you on about?fadein11
- multitasking has been on Android for years.
what's wrong with typing and auto-correct on Android? Bizarre statements.fadein11 - Blackberry. Really?monospaced
- I like Android much better than iOS. More flexible, actions are more streamlined, they actually have a design system they follow... the tech side is morezarkonite
- powerful too if you need to connect services and get work done. My Pixel 2 battery lasts a lot longer than my wife's iPhone's too.zarkonite
- monNom: they added multitasking over 2 years ago... they invented swipe typing and as a bilingual user I assure you the autocorrect is way smarter on android.zarkonite
- I got the iPhone X. I totally feel dirty about it too, because I know the Pixel 2 is a better phone. I just didn't want to deal with using a device outside thesofakingback
- OS family I already use for 2 computers, iPad and Apple TV. The phone is beautiful, I'll say that. The notch is whatever. I think the OS just feels tired...sofakingback
- It would be nice if they made a big sweeping change. I think that would give new life to their stuff.sofakingback
- monNom0
Slow after update may be due to huge Intel CPU security issue now getting patched in OSes:
https://www.theregister.co.uk/20…The fix results in ~30% slower systems.

Fuck you Apple...you sloppy, lazy bastards!
I just updated my iPhone iOS 11.2.2...and once again the update turned my brightness all the way down so I can BARELY see my screen on re-start.
- Probably because old phones and their batteries can't keep up with the brightness in the latest version of iOS //monNom

I have to constantly wipe my ipad because it insists on copying all 6000 photos from my iphone to my ipad. I have no idea why this is happening. Sync is not turned on in itunes.

Anyone have the AirPods?
I'm looking for a small, wireless pair of everyday headphones. The price is steep as hell but I like how small they are. Do they sound good enough? Are they worth it?
I have the JayBird x3 for working out and they're great but I can't wear them for more than 2 hours without my ears hurting.
how about some cheap good ones.uan - Had great luck with wired Jays; they JUST released a wireless version:
https://www.jayshead…ideaist - AirPod sound quality is pure shite, as with regular Apple earbuds. Get a pair of Bragi's - Comply foam tips, decent battery life and a great fit.face_melter
- I'm on beats for 2 years, never ever let me down.********
- I have a pair of Bragi 'Headphones' and they sounds great, with nice audio transparency when you need to talk.
https://www.bragi.co…face_melter - If the Jaybirds hurt your ears, I'm pretty sure the airpods are going to be worse.zarkonite
- Never had them, but I see them on the sidewalk from time to time. Also did someone just recommend Beats? LOFL, ignore.garbage
- They're awesome. Buy them, you have 14 days to return them if you're not happy. Worth a shot.ArmandoEstrada
- Great stuff gang. You gave me a lot to chew on. I'm taking a long hard look at the Jays ideaist, thank you!kona
- zark, the Jaybirds stick into your ear-hole. The airpords do not.kona
- Airpods have the same sound quality as wired iPhone earbuds which is madness at that price. I have Bose Soundsport which is semi wireless but great sound.CyBrainX
- https://www.bose.com…CyBrainX
- if you have an iPhone i couldn't recommend the AirPods more. The seamless pairing / unpairing is worth it alone.bogue
