I've done intermittent fasting for almost 20 years. I have a pretty shitty diet, drink what i want, sit at a desk all day and do next to no exercise. I'm 5'11 and still weigh 72kg. Eating between 12pm - 8pm has been my saviour.
- You are a great example to illustrate the current #health movement. You are slim (visually #healthy), eat and drink what you want (lifestyle #unhealthy)...deadsperm
- ... and in practice as healthy as those of the other ends of the spectrum.
We're practically all healthy is what I'm saying.deadsperm - what's the fast?notype

"Consuming an additional 300 milligrams of dietary cholesterol per day was associated with a >>3.2% higher risk<< of heart disease and a 4.4% higher risk of early death"http://www.ergo-log.com/pushups-…
"The researchers used data from 1,104 male fire fighters with an average age of 39. The researchers determined the amount of pushups the men were able to complete, and then followed the men for up to 10 years.
The more pushups often the men could make, the smaller were their chances of a heart attack, stroke or other cardiovascular disease-related outcome. Men who were able to complete 40 or more pushups had >>96 % less chance<< of a cardiovascular disease-related outcome than men who could make fewer than 10 pushups."
- damn, i got 10 more pushups to go.sarahfailin
- I can do 40 on one breath. I'm going to live forever.********

Water fast, day 3. I'm going until end of April.
- What's your goal? Lose weight? Body fat?dmay
- Reset metabolism first, increase insulin sensitivity second and get into ketosis and hopefully down the last few % down to 10% bf. It's the final push.Boz
- is it that salt water fast Kelly Slater was taking about on Rogan a month ago? yeah Keto is where its at, I've been in Ketosis since I got back from alaskamoldero

About to hit 40 this year and I just hired a personal trainer to get my bloated ass in shape. Day 2 today and although I'm sore, I have more energy and genuinely feel better. Looking forward to dropping some LBs and not feeling like such a tub. Hopefully the action and good feeling will be contagious and spread into my business too. 40 will be Excellent!

How's it going Box? Are you 10 days in?

Started eating less sugars and carbs, eating mostly meats and vegetables about a month ago. Haven't drank alcohol in months.
Started running a couple of weeks ago. I ran 3.1 miles/5 km a couple of days ago. Looking to start rock climbing in a couple of weeks. Been using the pull up bar everyday. Can do 2 finger pullups now.
Other than my knees, which are sore from running, I'm feeling great physically. My whole body feels light, no friction in any of my joints. I went from 164 lbs to 152 lb in the past month.
- re knees: proper shoesGnash
- Yup, I got fitted for shoes. My legs are just adjusting to running according to some peoplevwsung18t
- Very nice. I also cut down on all carbs, went from 188-169lbs in 5 weeks... getting cut but keeping my strength.robotron3k
- nice!Krassy
- if you're not already doing so, run on toes, better for kneesshapesalad
- be careful about your knees. It's one thing to have general soreness in your legs, but your knee joints shouldn't be hurting.Gnash
- pay attention to your gate and don't run on cement -- proper track or grassGnash
- I take 500mg MSM supplement def helps with pain in jointsrobotron3k
- Main Stream Media pills??Gnash
- i have flat feet so i have bad pronation that caused my leg joints to not line up right. My new shoes with proper arch support is correcting things i believe.vwsung18t
- hence the pain. but my knees already feel better. i'll give it a couple of more days until i run again.vwsung18t
- Recommend a book called Supple Leopard. Most people use their bodies in the wrong way, especially knees..********
- Huzzzah! ... tho make sure you switch things up with biking or swimming to engage other muscles (will make your runs stronger too)notype
- I want to trail run with Gnash one day.notype
- to alleviate knee pain: avoid running on concrete or asphalt, and try not to run downhill. (runner for 20 years)e-wo
- Running for any real distance isn't natural anyway. High intensity burst training is far more effective and better on your joints...********

- I started running more like speed walking, minimal movements. my knee has never felt better. I was running slower but i'm starting to get up to around 9m/mile.vwsung18t

Yesterday I ran a 10k, finished in 40’ 45’’. My goal was to finish under 40 minutes, but was too conservative in saving my energy for the last kilometers... well, back to training

Started doing Keto again this weekend. It's the only thing that works for me to kick the carbs that lead to bad carbs and too much sugar. Both times before I didn't get much of the Keto flu at first, but only three days in, same thing as before: the increase in fat and the limited carbs makes me feel so much more outrageously focused and productive at work than I do when I'm a slave to bad carbs and candy and such.
I'm at 165.5 as of this morning, down from 168 on Saturday and of course a lot of that is water weight as glycogen is burned off. I'm around 12.9% body fat right now and eager to kick some ass and get to between 9-10. I'm super lean everywhere except my abs, so hoping if that's all I've got left to burn, doing this will take care of it.
- reducing carb intake does just as good a job as keto in reducing carb intakemonospaced
- If you have abdominal fat, it usually means your interiors are still full of fat. You begin to accumulate around your organs inside first, the fat you see iszarkonite
- the tip of the iceberg. This is the first and last place your body uses to store its reserves, and you might not see progress for a while.zarkonite
