Having recently watched The [first] Little Mermaid for the first time, I'm really perplexed why certain people were getting all bent out of shape about the update.
I'm guessing you had to Be There when it first came out, because cripes, it's not aged well. Not that I imagine I'd've liked it first time around either.
- Lion King next. There's about two generations of Disney that I'm apparently about to be exposed to in a fairly short space of time...Nairn

Alejandro Jodorowsky's ‘Santa Sangre’
My partner decided to watch this last weekend and i spent most of the movie looking over at her, wide-eyed and slack-jawed at just how utterly terrible it was, like "What. The. Fuck. Is. This. Shit. ?!." but I must admit, by the very end of it, I was kind of taken with the overall ..er.. concept, perhaps?

- I was going to say 'like all Nic Cage movies' but he's actually done some really good stuff. Adaptation is one of my favourite filmsIanbolton
- he's a hit and miss. sometimes he's really good and sometimes he's really bad.pango
- This reminded me a lot of that Takashi Miike spaghetti western he did with Tarantino in itYakuZoku
- the script and everyone's performance is insistently bad. it's amazing.pango
