I asked what the least expensive way to break in to medium format while still producing commercial quality work. The Vintage Camera group on FB suggested these. Thoughts?
Mamiya 645
Bronica s2a
Kiev 60
Mamiya TLR
Mamiya RB67
Fuji GX680- Yes Mamiya 645 is a perfect starting point. I've never tried the other ones. My favorite medium format to carry around is the Mamiya 7ii, more expensive tho.spl33nidoru
- You can buy my Phase One. Message me if interested.SimonFFM
- Don’t get the 645 get the rz7 or hassleblad. Even the old Fuji 680 are cool for the bigger neg. if you’re working commercially. Hard to not be shooting digitalBH26
- I only say “commercial” because I want professional quality at the lowest possible entry costHijoDMaite
- @Simon thanks! Not sure if within my budget, but I messaged you!HijoDMaite
- Got the gfx. Good camera. But the raw files on a medium are pretty flat. Wich is needed for post production.tank02
- Mamiya RZ67IImugwart
- try and get hands on Hasselblad 500cm seriesmugwart
- Bennn3
- I love it too!! Fyi My fav lenses to use on it are the Fujinon 23mm f2, Canon 50mm f1.4 LTM (beautiful portraits, $200) and the Rokinon 8mm f2.8 UMCspl33nidoru
- For the Canon you'll need a $10 LTM->X adapter, and make sure you download Fuji's phone app to remotely control and transfer via wifispl33nidoru
- Did you know 2 company will launch adaptors for Canon to XF taking AF! In 2018 :)Bennn
- I'm with Fuji since the X-T1, I sold my X-T20 last week to get the X-T2 :)Bennn
- Didn't know that, the 50mm 1.4 LTM is manual but I like how the X-T2 handles manual focus.spl33nidoru
- I bought 2 X-T2s and an X100F for a project, absolutely loved working with them, I resold the X-T2s after but kept the X100F, wonderful pocketable camera :)spl33nidoru
- @spl Care to elaborate on going with the X100F? I'm hemming and hawing on which to choose atm.garbage
- garbage: I kept the x100f because I have access to other changeable lens cameras, and my priority was shooting more spontaneously daily, hence portability.spl33nidoru
- If you're fine with sticking with a 35mm lens, the X100F is perfect. The leaf shutter makes it almost silent (unlike the X-T2), so even more discreet.spl33nidoru
- I'm probably going to go with the X-T2. My daily camera is a Hexar AF (cheats enabled), so I don't really have a need for a quiet 35mm lens.garbage
- It doesn't seem too bulky, but I've never handled one. Plus I'm wanting the superior video quality. Appreciate your feedback on these camera threads.garbage

- Canon 24mm 1.4HijoDMaite
- Canon 16-35mm f2.8HijoDMaite
- TripodHijoDMaite
- Any wide angle lenses. You actually don't want to use low aperture number because you want wide depth of field to make everything in focus.pango
- The saturation contrast brightness are most likely done in post.pango
- And tripod +1pango
- Thanks very much you guys. Will manual/auto setting suffice?hotroddy
- Or do you need to shoot at certain f-stop etc?hotroddy
- I know settings vary depending on the amount of natural light but is there any good rule of thumb?hotroddy
- Canon 16-35 L they also make a 10-22 for crop sensors. Shoot it on a leveled tripod at f22 w/ a remoteimbecile
- thanks imb.hotroddy
- good to know about tripod too!hotroddy
- why a remote?hotroddy
- Or 2 sec shutter delay. If you have the patience.pango
- Typically the highest aperture number possible for interior photo. But every lens has different focul point sweet spot.pango
- These have TONS of natural light, most interiors don't and be quite challenging. Practice, practice, practice! FStoppers has some videos.formed
- @hot. Remote because when using higher aperture number you most likely will have to slow down shutter speed. Thus any tiny shake might show up in the photo.pango
- I.e. the shake from pressing the shutter.
Although I don't think a remote is necessary. But why not.pango - Grab one of the photo and see if the exif data is still attached. Some exif’s will show aperture, shutter speed, focal lenght of the lens and if a flash was useok_not_ok
- scheit...they're png'sok_not_ok
- ahh. thanks pango. Good idea. Reason to tether it to my laptop.. and I can trigger shots directly from capture one software.hotroddy
- yes. shitty pngs off a shitty squarespace site.hotroddy
- lots of good exif data here. https://www.flickr.c…HijoDMaite
- the available light in this example you posted is ridiculous, cell phone shots would look like this! lolHijoDMaite
- Flash was definitly used in the photo with cactus.pango
- 16-35 2.8 on a FF definitelyautoflavour
- what about bracketing?********
- You mean HDR? Ya people use that for interior photo too.pango

Which QBN user had all those old film cameras for sale?
Does anyone have a Konica Hexar RF body for sale?
- That's Tuan / BigTrick
http://www.qbn.com/b…mg33 - Thanks manHijoDMaite
- Ha, I just responded to spl33nidoru about my Hexar AF. Almost a weird coincidence.garbage
- Used car salesman voice: But why do you want a Hexar RF? I have a Minox B with filters, flash, cases, manual, and original boxing that's right up your alley.garbage
- Garbage you were the one!HijoDMaite
- Basically I want a film camera for street photography. And I want to be able to use the top lenses. So I thought M mount would be it.HijoDMaite
- They're good for that. I have the AF, which a weird as fuck point and shoot with a stellar lens. There are factory level, Konami-style cheat codes that..garbage
- ..unlock hidden features in the camera, including an absolutely silent mode. It's known as the Poor Man's Leica, so fun to shoot with.garbage
- Garbage let’s make a deal!HijoDMaite
- My Hexar (AF) is my baby, take it with me everywhere. Could never part with it.garbage
- https://www.japancam… I'd suggest this guy. Lives in Japan and sources like-new cameras. Haven't dealt with him in years, so not sure about..garbage
- ..his current stock, but if you dropped him a line he might be able to find you a really clean RF body.garbage

May be wrong thread but any photography shops open in NYC today (surprised to see Adorama closed.
- Try 42nd Street photo or k&mrobotron3k
- One of the things that suck about where I live is that I am one hour from a good camera shop.HijoDMaite
- Thanks robo feeling like i want to support a smaller shop. So anyone knows of good photo shops in general in the 5boro/NY area +++notype

Did you guys know this Leica M-P ‘Correspondent’ Edition Was Designed by Lenny Kravitz?
(I guess he's a big Leica guy)
A guy on FB group has it up for sale for $35,000!! When released new it was $25,000
"In designing this new “Correspondent” Leica M-P, Kravitz wanted to bring back the aesthetics of his old beautifully aged Leica. The surface of the new camera and the two lenses have been artificially aged, entirely by hand, to suggest “many years of constant use.”
"The camera may look weathered, but its materials are exotic. Durable snakeskin is used for the trim of the cameras and for the camera and wrist straps included in the package."
"Each camera also comes with Summicron-M 35 mm f/2 ASPH and Summilux-M 50 mm f/1.4 ASPH lenses in a custom handmade case that’s also covered with snakeskin."
