the trick when someone threaten you with a gun is to react as quick as possible when he point the gun away while he talk, then you blast a 'biu jee' at the speed of light right in his face. A good 'biu jee' should instantly destroy an eye of your oponent. At the same time you do a 'lop sao' on the arm holding the gun and you destroy his face bones with an elbow strike or a 'qua choie'. All this take 1,2 sec to achieve.
For real.

Lop Sao

Try pulling a gun on a stranger that already has their gun in your face

When was the last time you fight?
Iam learning and I practice every week. Who is the more ready to react between us?
- benfal990
with a gun litterally in your face, you obey and do nothing. If you feel you are in a real danger and that your life is at risk. You must react when the gun is pointing away.

i train too. not for the purposes of stoping an armed mugger, but as a stress release.
agreed though. better to know something, than nothing at all.
- necromation0
i was attacked once by a dude with a knife... My training served me well. A quick kick to hand, he dropped the knife, followed by a swift hook to jaw sent that fucker out cold into the shop shutters.
The element of surprise is always YOUR best weapon... This all happened before 10am on my way to work one day.
- Exactly why everyone should learn martial arts. Its super fun and you never know when it will serves you.benfal99
- People who dont practice martial arts have no idea how fast and powerful a roundhouse kick can bebenfal99
- and 'normal' people dont expect good kicks in general. In fights, 'normal' people always wait for the normal punches.benfal99
- yeah, mine is a mix of street boxing, wing chun and shootfighting... People most times never see it coming.necromation
- we are so badass

I've trained in martial arts for the better part of the past 10 years and would gladly give up my wallet if met by an armed mugger. It's not worth the risk of being shot/ stabbed/ or going to the ground and hitting my head on the sidewalk over a few bucks and some inconvience.
Many people I've trained with have a false sense of confidence and ego that would likely get them hurt in a real life/ non training situation.
Even if you really know what you're doing your libel to escalate the situation and bad stuff will happen.
However in a real life or death situation all bets are off.

as an outsider living in Canada, I keep reading this thread with a growing sense of astonishment.
I can't honestly fathom the idea of living in a country/society that views guns as so important.I can see from reading the posts, that some of you are kinda for it....and others feel it's just as insane as i do.
for those of you that think it's nuts....do you ever get the feeling your country is changing so much, or going in such a ridiculous direction that it 'may' be time to consider getting the fuck out?
i don't mean that to sound offensive at all...serious...
it's just with two young kids of my own, i have to think at some point i'd be questioning how great a place it is with folks that think their right to have guns is more important than mine to raise a family in a place essentially WITHOUT them....
i dunno....maybe i'm wrong...
- Every day, sadly.hereswhatidid
- its the principle. Open carry in public space should be a local vote, and not regulated by federal level.********
- and why is that?hereswhatidid
- Look up state vs federal powers. Its long. The short and skinny is absolute power corrupts and why fed shouldnt call all shots********
- that's a slippery slope which assumes the states won't abuse the power themselveshereswhatidid
- also if allowed in one state and was problematic woudl others adapt it? Think of it as freemarket law making********
- however anything done at a federal level, their is no competition to see if good or bad. And politicains will always try to find soem dumb idea to run on. soem new and improved benefit of regualtion********
- this approach is what's rapidly eroding any gun control currently in place. each state is racing to the least regulationhereswhatidid
- find somr new and improved regulation to run on making things "better". if u default out to federal all the time u will be fucked********
- if the states are all giving up regulations than the people of those states want it, and they feel there is no harm.********
- any harm perceived must be a misconception outside the states own voting populace. but i dont think most states are repealing regualtions********
- repealing regulations********
- really? a majority of states feel that gun regulations should be relaxed?hereswhatidid
- because that's what's happening every single day right nowhereswhatidid
- I thought you said a majority of states were repealing. I have no idea on the statistics, but if they are its going democratically. The way it should at state level********
- democratically. Why should a person in AK have a say in CA gun control. Or vice versa. Really its a local issue.********
- if the majority of citizens in a state decide they dont like what the elected offical did with gun laws his competitor will win next election.********
- that's exactly why we don't have a simple majority rules government. What if a majority in a state decide atheism is illegal?hereswhatidid
- illegal? just uphold that?hereswhatidid
- well yea we are a republic.... there is bill of rights and constitutional powers protecting from big shenanigans like that********
- right to carry is gray area because really it doesn't infringe on anyone else rights, but doe sit do more harm than good********
- good. I can see for small towns in alaska or rural stuff no problems in carrying a gun. in a SF carrying a gun just asks for trouble. Its dumb.********
- trouble. But that grey area will need to be decided by the states elected officials and let the peopel decide voting wether they chose right********
- if you let the people decide, how do you ensure that a large enough sample of voters is found?hereswhatidid
- I can't ensure it. Don't think anyone can.********

Every good, honest, gun-loving citizen knows that the way to make America safe is for everyone to own at least one gun. For protection.
If all the anti-gun people leave the country, then every (remaining) American will own a gun and the country will be safe from gun violence. Everyone will be protecting each other all the time.
Look, I solved America's gun problem.
- The christian right has been wanting their own country since the civil war, let's just run with thathereswhatidid
- hahahaMiguex
- Kick out the people that don't want guns in the society. That'll make it safer.Peter

If only "every good, honest, gun-loving citizen" was always good and honest.
Maybe solving the gun problem, eventually, is simply banning bullets.
- Take drivers license for instance. Supposed to pass a test to ensure you can drive. but more people die in car accidents.yurimon
- Then guns. you dont ban cars. you dont talk about precrime on who will commit an accident.yurimon
- if only only cars were designed for a singular purpose, to kill peopleprophetone
- They kill more people then guns so, logic.yurimon
- the car comparison has been mentioned and squashed before on QBN.iCanHazQBN
- cars are registered and insured so there is culpability and recompense for damages incurred. Operators are licensedlocustsloth
- i'd LOVE for the same thing to happen with gunslocustsloth

Open Carry, explained.

Problem with anti gun people is they are inconsistent in ideology.
They want to ban guns so to prevent school shootings and save lives but will pay taxes to the gov so the gov can buy bombs to kill babies with drones.- welcome to planet earth, enjoy your stayJG_LB
- ya you go try not pay your tax.pango
- um yuri are you pro gun?ohhhhhsnap
- Many pro-gunner's are the same yuri. Unbending in their beliefs. Hence why there's no compromise for anything anymore.IRNlun6
- Find out if you have to pay taxes. its voluntary but lengthy legal process to stop. unless.yurimon
- everyone just says fuck it and holds on to their guns. so continue killing babies then.yurimon
- how much have you contributed to that?yurimon
- You can't opt out of taxes.monospaced
- Not true. I met an old school ceo,. never paid. property tax more tricky. You have look into the lawyurimon
- supreme court cases on defining income. ars has poor track record in the supreme court. it reveals alot.yurimon
- id say 90 % of gov runs on peoples ignorance and assumptions..yurimon
- It's really not inconsistent. Most people accept the fact that we need a government, so they pay taxes.ukit2
- In terms of war, drones etc, many of the same people who support gun control also oppose
Iraq War and other military actionsukit2 - actions. And even if you support both, so what? Maybe you are more concerned with safety than pacifism.ukit2
- Obvoisly they contribute to baby killing so they are not so opposed as long they are not inconvenienced or have to take actionyurimon
- some kind of action.yurimon
- So wait you're saying that unless I withhold paying taxes I automatically support everything the government does?ukit2
- does? Do you refuse to pay taxes?ukit2
- Something I doubt you live up to your own standard here.ukit2
- yuri is a no account knob posting on a chat board from his darkened bedroom. don't take anything he says seriouslyhereswhatidid
