Can we live in a society with no cops? Can we be nice and not harm each other? Maybe 99% of society has the wherewithal to do so but how about the other 1%
Also the media profits from negativity, it’s their job to report on the worst news of the day, never the best. For every shitty act committed by a cop how many good acts were committed? Thousands? Tens of thousands? We hear about none of them but they’ve benefited all of us.

'Cops' cancelled after 32 seasons
- world is changing fast. you can't show black criminals getting arrested on tv.hotroddy
- Well...it's not like TV does enough to stereotype all blacks as violent criminals on daily basis, over and over again. Why would we believe anything else?utopian
- you kidding? I see more black doctors on tv than in real lifehotroddy
- unless you're talking about that self proclaimed gangsters who glorify violence in their music videos.hotroddy
- It was a goofy show that glorified cops hunting people down, doesn't seem so unreasonable to pull the plug after decades on air.yuekit
- glorified? I thought it was educational and was the one of the few shows you could call reality tv. Cops dealing with real situations and real peoplehotroddy
- nothing glorifying about arresting crack headshotroddy
- anyone who thinks cops is 'educational' is special kind of dumbtank02
- american anthropology 101hotroddy
- should be extremely educational for you coming from a privileged part of the world that doesn't have to deal these cultural issueshotroddy
- The whole concept is idiotic. These people are getting paid by us to protect the community, not act in a trashy reality show someone else makes money from.yuekit
- it was a groundbreaking unscripted show spotlighting societal issues and exposing the underbelly of society for what it is.hotroddy
- But now we have to sweep it under rug bc it's too offensive.hotroddy
- i think it's credited as the first reality show.hotroddy
- At one point, the cops on the show accidentally shot and killed their own producer.yuekit
- wow..never knew that. high stakes tvhotroddy
- 32? Better shows have less seasons than this propaganda.pango

- @shellie question - we both originate from a part of the world (southern caribbean) where insecurity and crime are rampant.hotroddy
- if you agree it's a problem - what is it about the culture or lack of law enforcement that makes it such a problem?hotroddy

We found 85,000 cops who’ve been investigated for misconduct. Now you can read their records.

George Floyd’s brother Philonise said he believes Derek Chauvin, the former Minneapolis police officer charged with second-degree murder in Floyd’s death, knew exactly who Floyd was as he pressed his knee into his neck. Not only that, Philonise said he believed it was personal, and he’s not the only one who sees it that way.
Former co-worker David Pinney said that not only did Floyd and Chauvin know each other, but they had a contentious history.

Investigations into alleged officer misconduct not enough for man permanently injured during curfew.
Police departments across the country have come under fire for their handling of what were largely peaceful protests in the wake of George Floyd's death, which were, in part, against police brutality. In some cases, officials are now investigating alleged officer misconduct.
Yet for one man who says he was permanently blinded in his left eye after rubber bullets were allegedly shot at him, the internal investigations are not enough.
"They're treating us like we're attacking the country, when they're really attacking us as citizens," Jax Feldmann, a 21-year-old Denver resident, told ABC News.

Baltimore Police Sergeant Arrested, Accused of Extortion and Kidnapping Contractor While on Duty, County Police Say
https://www.baltimoresun.com/new…
He demanded a refund and confronted the contractor with information about his driver’s license being suspended, saying he could arrest him, according to charging documents. Then, authorities said, he made the victim get into Lloyd’s car. The victim told police that he feared being arrested and complied with Lloyd’s demands of going to the bank and getting a certified check for the refund, officials said.
At a bail review hearing Friday, defense attorney Matthew Fraling told Baltimore County District Court Judge Kimberly Thomas that the matter should be a civil issue and not criminal, saying it all stems from “poor construction” by contractor on a new patio.
“I agree 100% this should have stayed a civil matter,” replied county prosecutor Thomas Kane. “The defendant made certain decisions which grossly changed the character of the interaction with the victim.”

this is how it's done. The badassery of that second cop is off the charts.
