Listening to Icke is v.similar to listening to Bob Lazar. They have kept the same story for decades and elements of their fantastic claims have come true over the years. Lazar has gained nothing by his claims (as he says it has damaged his life). One half of me believes these guys (the fun half). The other has to go to work and raise a family in this weird world.

If you read enough of anything, you will get drawn into it and it will start to seem credible because you are not hearing the other side. However IMO, the chances of some random person knowing all the world's secrets are extremely low. If there is a global elite ruling us and manipulating world events I think an ex sports journalist who hears voices is going to be the last guy who knows about it.
But actually I find conspiracy theories pretty fascinating and fun to read, even the ridiculous ones. Like Richard D. James said recently even if its not real it's the greatest science fiction story ever written.
One of my random aspirations if I ever have time is to create one of those two or three hour You Tube conspiracy videos. Fill it with the most ridiculous unsubstantiated claims and see how many views it gets :)
