Steven seems like a very genuine person. I believe this is real anger, not just an entertainer doing his job.

They found and arrested the man responsible for throwing the fire extinguisher that killed capitol hill police officer Brian Sicknick. He's David Quintavalle retired Chicago firefighter who has a son in the police force. He frequently protests for blue lives matter.

LOL, go protest for a person who already packed its shit. smart.
Melania Trump has been moving items for almost two months, according to multiple sources. She has already completed several shipments to Mar-a-Lago, the Palm Beach, Florida, private club where the first couple is expected to reside. She has also put much of the family's furniture and décor into storage. One of the sources estimates Trump is "about 50%" packed from the White House, a job she began in earnest in the weeks following Election Day.
- She's packing for different reasonsPhanLo
- I wonder how much White House antiques she 'accidentally' packed along with her stuff?Akagiyama
- Anyone mention that it's illegal for him to take up residence at a private club? That was the agreement to originally change it from a private residence.bulletfactory

As far as Trump rappers go, he's not terrible.

- He finished saying he's against violence. I'm not sure he's speaking about his people, though. I feel like he's urging people to fight, and face meet violence.monospaced
- That came out wrong. I think he's supporting millions coming out to march on every capital, armed. And expects them to meet armed forces protecting capitals.monospaced
- It was a perfect speechaliastime
- I imagine in a few years when he's in the depths of dementia he'll just mutter "witch hunt", "tremendous", "maga", "sad", "chyna",...dorf

Just remember...Donald Trump received 74,223,744 votes.
46.9% of the country still support and are devoted to the delusional megalomaniac. America is beyond fucked!- 46.9% of who voted, us population is 328.2 millionwhatthefunk
- “Devoted” is a strong word. You’re also ignoring that some people voted against Biden, not for Trump. Also a lot has happened since Election Day.nb
- It's still a fuckin lot!
Plus the morons who didn't go vote but support Trumphnbq - 239M eligible voters. So just over 30% voted for trump. Still very scary considering how fucking awful he is.nb
- yupGuyFawkes
- whatthefunk: of that 328.2M only 233.7M are eligible to vote, so the 74.2M votes Trump got represents almost 1/3 of the voting population. That's a lot.CuriousGeorge

'Right-wing violence will now be a regular feature of American politics'
https://www.washingtonpost.com/o…
'Throughout the Trump presidency, the abuser’s trope of victim-blaming (“Look what you made me do”) was a staple of conservative rhetoric, as they sought to blame the left for Trump’s very existence. You were too politically correct, you said stupid things, you hurt our feelings, and “This is how you got Trump.”
So too will they try to put responsibility on Biden and congressional Democrats for the extremists in the GOP ranks. Our side might be full of crackpots, they’ll say, but it’s only because they’re legitimately concerned that passing a public option or increasing taxes on the wealthy would be the death knell of liberty. If only Democrats would promote “unity” by both pretending the Trump presidency never happened and shelving their own agenda, none of this would be happening.'
- Yep. Trump has already found the time to blame the Democrats’ impeachment process for the anger and attack on the capitol. Orwellian!nb
- I can’t read the full article. Why is this not also appropriate to the left? Can you ignore six months of nightly violence & riots in Portland?Morning_star
- ^ You're drawing a false equivalence. Do not pass go, do not collect $200.brandonp
- total false equivalencymonospaced
- Why?Morning_star
- Arn’t both the right and the left resorting to violence because of perceived political and social injustice?Morning_star

- Would you guys also agree with this? Personally I found this comparison extremely insulting/ tone deafyuekit
- I find it insulting, too. They're not the same things at all.Continuity
- Yeh? Four people on this thread have claimed that, and not one has given an explanation as to why.Morning_star
- Read the link I posted above, some guy from CNN tried to make a similar comparison between the Trump people and HK protesters.yuekit
- I don't think you can just lump every group of protesters together in such a vague generalization. Saying "perceived political and social injustice" implies weyuekit
- can't make a judgement on whether there is actually injustice.yuekit
- Perhaps you did not intend it this way, but I think this "both sides" ism and blame shifting is one of the worst aspects of the Trump era.yuekit
- I completely understand that perspective Yuekit. But, the original extract from the article does exactly what you claim we shouldn't be doing. It takes the...Morning_star
- ...vague generalisation of 'Right-wing violence' and builds from there. It is therefore not unreasonable to offer "Left-wing violence' as a comparative exampleMorning_star
- There is as much nuance on the right as there is on the left and violence cannot be justified in either circumstance. Singling out the 'Right' as the only...Morning_star
- ...bad actor is unsophisticated, generic and blatantly untrue. Whatever ones political allegiances there are terrorists, extremists and crackpots in both campsMorning_star
- The problem of extremism on the right in American politics is currently much worse. This shouldn't be a controversial thing to say at a time when the President, yuekit
- supported by 80-90% of Republicans, is calling to overturn a democratic election. 70 million people voted for Trump, I doubt even 1% of Democrats support Antifayuekit
- or whatever the equivalent is supposed to be. The individual cases of violence and vandalism aren't necessarily the worst aspect here IMO, it's theyuekit
- radicalization and embrace of conspiracy theories by so many people.yuekit
- I don't know how you can claim that extremism is much worse on the right. I just don't see it. When Antifa/BLM set fire to a building with police...Morning_star
- ...and government employees inside is that not extreme and a potentially more severe reaction than the idiots that entered the Whitehouse?Morning_star
- Because Trump is an authoritarian, anti-democratic leader and tens of millions of people on the right support him.yuekit
- Also let's not forget that five people were killed in what you describe as idiots entering a building (which was Capitol building not Whitehouse).yuekit
- But it's really the willingness of such a large part of the country to follow and believe someone like Trump that is the disturbing aspect here. If Trump hadyuekit
- actually succeeded in overturning the election and staying in power, do you think the GOP would have stood up to him? Unfortunately the track record suggests noyuekit
- ...GOP politicians would have cravenly gone along with it and most conservative voters probably would have cheered it on. That points to a very serious problemyuekit
- that cannot be compared with some fringe black bloc anarchists smashing up buildings.yuekit
- Yuekit you said "But it's really the willingness of such a large part of the country to follow and believe someone like Trump" which is a vague generalisation.Morning_star
- It's also a claim that doesn't take in to consideration the fact that if you are a supporter of the GOP who do you vote for as president? or should you..Morning_star
- ...not vote even though that's likely to lead to a Dem President. It's just not as cut and dried as you are portraying.Morning_star
- How is it vague? He was the most popular GOP president in our lifetimes, more popular among conservativesyuekit
- than Ronald Reagan. All the major conservative media repeated his “election was stolen” nonsense, and polls show a majority of their voters believed it.yuekit
- 147 GOP members of Congress voted to overturn the election results based on zero evidence, just because Trump told them to.yuekit
- It's self fulfilling nonsense, if your major source of news is the conservative media and they are telling you it was stolen why would you think anything else?Morning_star
- To blame people on the right or left for believing their chosen media outlets is unfair. Faced with what you believe is trusted media giving you facts it's...Morning_star
- ...unfair to characterise BLM/Antifa or Trump supporters as the source of the problem.Morning_star
- Yeah that's a tough one...of course we are all influenced by what we read and watch but you'd like to think adult human beings would be able to recognize thatyuekit
- supporting someone like this is simply unacceptable. It's not like there was no advance warning lol. And while a few did draw a line, the vast majority didn't.yuekit
