Music Mogul Russell Simmons Is Accused of Rape by 3 Women

"Mr. Simmons, a powerful gatekeeper in the entertainment and media worlds, damaged careers and self-confidence with his pattern of sexual assault and harassment, the women say."

    • the ladies are draining the swamp..robotron3k
    • And they are way better at it than trump. I don't think Trump has done anything to drain the swap at all :(pango
    • Trumps associates and cabinets seem to be swampier everyday.pango
    • you show me one from trump's side I'll show you one from the other side... then I'LL show you TWO from Trump's side... and you can then show me 2 from the...PonyBoy
    • ... other side. You can't put this on ANY side of the political spectrum. These power mad perverts are on BOTH sides of this skanky swampPonyBoy
    • What's sick is both sides of the swamp will take a pervert's money anydayPonyBoy
    • not comparing political side. Simply stating trumps promise were done by women(I don't even know what side women belongs to) means while trump is doing oppositepango
    • Not everything is about sides. pony!!pango
    • This isn't what trump meant when he said drain the swamp over and over years ago. He was talking about wall street jerks and lobbyists controlling the admin.monospaced
    • "Trumps associates and cabinets seem to be swampier everyday."
Seem it was about sides though... Trump's according to you comment. :)
      PonyBoy
    • (not trying to pick a fight) :)PonyBoy
    • So no. They aren't draining the swamp in that sense at all. Certainly not the swamp trump was referring to.monospaced
    • If trump really truly gave a shit about sexual deviants in office, he wouldn't have blatantly supported an accused pedophile and molester.monospaced
    • I don't think the fucker gives two shits... but hey (not to bring 'her' up)... the other candidate paid off her husband's accusers... ....so fucking swampy!!!PonyBoy
    • by 'fucker' I mean Trump (just so there's no confusion)PonyBoy
    • Absolutely irrelevant, but I get your instinct to "but Hillary" is hard to kick, like an addiction ... it gets bettermonospaced
    • Sides like trump vs women?
      Does that even count?
      pango
    • no... not if Trump's all you care about, pango then it's purely politics and not morals... which is why I always jam the skanky left back in the conversationPonyBoy
    • 'but hillary' is cry for normalcy, mono... but you keep denying your cunt hero hillary isn't part of covering up sexual harassment... you keep that upPonyBoy
    • the woman paid off other women to go away to further hers and her raping husband's political careers... if you can't find that relevant given...PonyBoy
    • ... the old skank is still on her book tour then you're either blind or a partisan hackPonyBoy
    • Hey I didn't bring those up out of nowhere. Both "lady" and swap which I famously associate to drumpf where brought up in the previous note.pango
    • If you wanna find the person who cares only for drumpf, look no further than the post before mine.pango
    • Sure it's political. We're talking about the current president here. But women vs drump as if i'm picking left or right?pango
    • Ugggh typing on iPad is touch...pango
    • Sure trump is rupiblican. But Women aren't by default democrats.pango
    • Wait... Some say trump is not even a republican. So this is even further than picking left or right!pango
    • If you're wondering why I never gotten beat up talking like this in real life... it's a mystery to me too...pango
    • Once I had a guy screaming at me "WHO DE FUCK DO YOU THINK YOU ARE!?" Then I just went on talking about existentialism. "That's a big question....who am I?...."pango
    • For a good 10 mins. Dude just walked away....pango
    • Shit I'm going off topic. Sorry...
Ya man! Not picking a side! Or at least I'm on those women's side. But I wouldn't call my self a feminist.
      pango
    • The word has different meanings and they can't even agree on what it is.pango
    • hey pony. Two things. One: IT WAS A FUCKING JOKE. two/ I didn't deny anything about Hillary. Goddamn snowflakes around here. Jesus.monospaced

Ken Friedman, the restaurant mogul of The Spotted Pig in NYCs West Villiage and Tosca Cafe in SF...

Natalie Saibel, a longtime server at the Spotted Pig, a West Village restaurant with celebrity investors, didn’t quit in 2015 after the owner, Ken Friedman, ran his hands over her buttocks and then her groin in a room crowded with customers, joking that he was searching her pockets for a forbidden cellphone.

Amy Dee Richardson, a bar manager there, didn’t quit in 2004, when she says Mr. Friedman bit her on the waist as he bent down to duck under the bar. Neither did Trish Nelson, a longtime server who said he grabbed her head and pulled it toward his crotch in front of Amy Poehler in 2007 as Ms. Nelson knelt to collect glasses from a low shelf.

But one night in 2012, Mr. Friedman pushed Ms. Nelson too far, she said: He invited her into his car to smoke marijuana and almost immediately lunged forward and pushed his tongue into her mouth.

“I was scared,” she recalled. “I couldn’t believe it. I had worked for him for six years.”

It's amazing that all of this is coming to light at once but I wonder if it is really so surprising. There's got to be a huge overlap between people who seek out celebrity and fame and those with psychopathic, manipulative and aggressive tendencies.

"The prevalence of psychopathy in CEOs and business leaders is four times that of regular people"

"Here’s a simple reality — large numbers of men enter high-status professions (such as entertainment and politics) in part or even primarily to gain access to beautiful women. Large numbers of men achieve wealth in part or even primarily to gain access to beautiful women. Large numbers of men who enter high-status professions or gain wealth for good and virtuous reasons soon become corrupted by access to beautiful women. As we’ve learned, some men even become so-called ‘male feminists’ primarily to gain the trust of beautiful women.
Object all you want, but it’s true. Indeed, for men, having a beautiful woman on your arm is often seen as the ultimate marker of status. Become successful enough — no matter your looks or social awkwardness or painful dating history — and a beautiful woman is your reward."

i keep thinking, who are all these guys whipping their dick out and exposing themselves randomly? my homegirl just told me that happened to her at a bar recently during some light conversation with a couple of people. im so thankful that's never happened to me. Besides some aggressive New York cat calling and one guy stepping infront of me so i couldn't pass without speaking to him, I've never been sexually harrassed outside of professional situations. You'd think itd be the other way around but not for me -- or so I thought. maybe its just that the professional situations stand out the most because they are so obviously wrong. When I think a little harder there's been plenty of situations ive forgiven or shrugged off because you just can't hold onto everything, it'd be way too much baggage to carry around. But God, it's like a minefield out there.

Once when I was preparing to get off the subway I moved close to the door and was looking out the window to get a view of signage as we approached the stain. As we came to a stop, I locked eyes with a man on the platform and quickly looked away cos awkward. The door opened and instead of tilting my head down like i do when i know where im going, my head was fully up to continue reading overhead signage. The guy I looked eyes with walked towards me as I exited the train and planted a kiss right on my mouth, he entered the train and the doors closed. It was a packed midtown rush, so there were people pushing behind me and he was coming at me, there was no avoiding the man and i wasnt prepared for him to kiss my face out of the blue. He stared at me as the train rolled away and i stood there sort of frozen in shock.

    ugh... so gross.

    • fuck, that's terrible.BusterBoy
    • Shit. What the hell goes on in some men's tiny little minds?Ianbolton
    • i never thought i was the freeze in place type. im athletic, i shoot guns, i do archery, im pretty tough. but i froze. i didn't scream, yell, or react.shellie
    • women cant be owned, they're not blow up dolls or fuck toys, but they're often treated as such. we arent sisters, daughters, mothers or wives when this happensshellie
    • that is fucked up. I had a niegbour that would get coked up and expose himself to my sisters room. He had built a system to monitor her without her knowning.mugwart
    • I often wonder the mindsets, decisions and even life experiences to allow them to think that they are able to do this ...mugwart
    • I'm gonna sound like kyles mom here... I blame romance Novels and romcom portraying these behavier as romantic...pango
    • And some people replayed the scenario over and over again in there head and finally one day he had the courage to do it.pango
    • And gave him self a pat on the back because he did it.pango
    • Romance is nice and important to relationships. Romance has to be respected (not the case here!). It can be very hit and miss if works and not.mugwart
    • https://youtu.be/qcl…pango
    • And also seriously you can find anything on YouTube that supports your argument.pango
    • Romance shouldn’t be hit and miss if you’re not being a cunt. Do the obvious thing if you like someone, just don’t be creepy about itIanbolton
    • i definately didn't do anything, spoken or unspoken, to suggest that this was okay. I thought about the romance angle. i hate romcoms for this reason.shellie
    • 98% of stuff that happens in romantic movies would seriously creep me out as this did. same with stalking or not taking no for an answer.shellie
    • You should get a taser. Something high voltage would do.futurefood

    • "Romance shouldn’t be hit and miss if you’re not being a cunt" your right, I worded mine incorrectly. I meant it can be hard to get right & emotions run highmugwart

    • Because unsolicited kissing on the mouth is funny and what boys do. (Sarcasm) https://youtu.be/2XD…pango
    • everyone should get ask 1st by default. i promise its not a turn off. every threshold you cross with a woman should be discussed. mutually created boundaries.shellie

  • Ianbolton3

Come on 'men', how do we make things better? Nobody needs this shit. It's fucked up and this thread's only going to include the cunts who make the news. Not the other completely self-absorbed, mindfucks who wait outside trains for that extra second look, thinking they're slimey, pathetic mouth needs to be connected to a womans to really make her feel respected.

It really is blowing my mind. :-(

    • I felt kinda sheltered after the discovery last year that 'dick pics' were actually a thing. I guess there are deep psychological issues and simple surface onesSteveJobs
    • as well. Many men project what we wouldn't be as offended by - the unsolicited reveal of a woman's body. Going beyond that, however, I don't understand.SteveJobs
    • mutual desire helps in those situations. id love to see a guy naked IF we were on a date AND we discussed mutual attraction and wanting to do more.shellie
    • shocker: coming to an agreement about pushing boundaries in some sort of sexual exchange does not turn women off.shellie
    • if i was single i would literally love if someone asked to kiss me. 8th grade moves are back in style. "may i kiss you" *swoon*shellie
    • I get that, and it seems generally accepted in my circle of friends that’s how things work. But that’s not how it works for some other men.Ianbolton
    • I want to know how to change that. Maybe I’ll set up a support group or something, but someone has to set an example or be a good ear at least.Ianbolton
    • i do know there were at least 10 men who saw that assult described below and nobody even checked to see if I was okay. somewhere in there is an opp to helpshellie
    • It’s really shitty. I’d say over 50% of all the women I know have been or know somebody who’s been in similar situations or worse too.Ianbolton

    • These guys we are hearing about aren't normal guys. Very few of them are from normal towns etc. These prob are psychopathsmugwart
    • Wish this wasn't put out in the media as a purely 'male" thing but more a psychological condition.mugwart
    • It’s mostly male psychological condition tho.pango
    • true, but only because historically men have had to be the "predators". To be fair where I grew up it was the opposite.mugwart
    • not escaping this discusting behaviour - just worried how anti men the world is getting when it not 99% of men.mugwart
    • Just like the world is currently anti-Muslim because of a couple of suicide bombers? 1 person ruins it for all!Ianbolton
    • No I don't see it that way. The world is only anti pervy men from this particular subject. Can't really say the world is anti men when we rule everything.pango
    • Even cooking! Lol. I wonder how many top ten highest paying chefs are women. Yet that's the thing we stereo type women with. "Get back in the kitchen!"pango
    • I hear what you are saying but growing up in a very old household, it wasn't clear cut that man had the power due to work.mugwart
    • My grandfather was one of the Queen's advicer, major player in old school buisness london. My grandmother never worked in her life and she had more power thanmugwart
    • he did.
I'm not saying the world is right, nor that what we are seeing and hearing is wrong. I just see everything he hear about so simplified.
      mugwart
    • These guys are cunts. These guys need to be made examples of. Most people have enough morality never to do this.mugwart
    • I guess I'm more interested in the thought behaviours over gender arguments.mugwart
    • Also going back to my grandfather. Growing up around these cunts, i saw narasitics, these vipers and it wasn't just "men" it was in the mindset of the family.mugwart
    • I think it's all about individualism and understanding our own spaces in an age in which gender roles have completely changed or even disappeared completelyIanbolton
    • Well I don't know how to compare those well connected families with majority of the population... I simply don't know much about them.pango
    • Men aren't going to give up that so-called power as a lot of it is competitive human nature. But they're also not going to openly talk about it either.Ianbolton
    • What I know is these pervy mind set can exist in every demographic of men. Everyone is normal till they're not.pango
    • Women too but for some reason less than men. I'm gonna guess the problem is rooted in the culture.pango
    • Give a man 50 wives and he could have 50 times more children. But a woman with 50 husbands?Ianbolton
    • Maybe it’s biological? https://www.redpeppe…Ianbolton
    • its hard to describe - its about education and mindsets. Men have had a roll where he is educated to step forth into the light.mugwart
    • I bet these people are psychopaths, narcissists and almost no real traits of humanity left in them. I bet they had experiences with decimated their psychesmugwart
    • Humanity is moving forth and fast (about time) but I see it stop short at "man" "woman" which undervalues all humanity.mugwart
    • 19 I hitched hiked around Vietnam as off the beaten track as I could. I was getting offers all the time from women/fathers/pips. They were shocked that I refusemugwart
    • so I know its this is everywhere. I'm not blind to this. I nearly killed someone when Iwas offered a small girl.mugwart
    • that said I have been involve with a narcissistic women and seen them decimate lives. Growing up it was normal to sleep around. Get pregnant choose the best...mugwart
    • thats maturnalty fraud and never discussed. my argument here is that there are major problems we are all facing but they are being guided by media & govermentsmugwart
    • better put, we have been educated to point fingers at each other when those above us are doing fucked up shit. We haven't been educated to look within.mugwart
    • Wouldnt it be cool if we got taught psychology, Jung etc at schools. Work us out as well as others. I want me kid to be writing about his shadow self not howmugwart
    • "Churchill saved the world" (I shit you not)mugwart
    • Ian... that 50 wife's thing is comparing women to live stock... birthing is the only purpose for them... ya... no.pango
    • Not saying only men. But mostly men.
I'd say it's the culture. Culture as in moral value and mind set passed down from generations. Most of the time with out
      pango
    • Questions just because it's has always been that way so it shall remain.pango
    • Our generations are seriously blessed with information hyperdrive. Where we are questioning and reevaluating everything. Even that flat earth thing...pango
    • The article explains things from a Darwinian evolutionary perspective, so not sure it’s completely wrong if that’s been our history. How do we change our ways?Ianbolton
    • We are on the same page! I agree with this.
I just see men suffering as well, be it differently. Like to stand up for all!
      mugwart
    • It suggests men have always had to compete for the women. We are naturally more competitive. Now we have less of a need to compete in the same wayIanbolton
    • Ian. Ya we would always have those instincts. But as society evolves, perhaps the path of least resistance is to adapt.pango
    • Mug, I get where you’re at. Our current status is to try individually to work who or what we are when existentially we’re under less threat than ever before.Ianbolton
    • Mug. I agree with men suffering. We have higher suicide rate than women. But I think it's best to discuss it as 2 different subjects.pango
    • In fact, the biggest threat to males on this planet is suicide. So technically we’re a bigger threat to ourselves. Let’s understand that.Ianbolton
    • Whenever the issue of men suffering gets brought up during the subject of women suffering caused by men, the discussion never progresses.pango
    • And why are mens suffering only being brought up when men's are being accused of causing suffering? Can't we have that discussion with out having to sound likepango
    • Men prey on women because men are suffering? It's really not a justification.pango
    • Totally. Maybe we need to ‘man the fuck up’?! Or maybe it’d help if people just listened instead of smashing out brainless opinionsIanbolton
    • pango rides for women. good on you, sir.shellie
    • Thx :D But just you wait. Give me sometime and I'll saying something completely stupid. https://i.imgur.com/…pango
    • ^ Haha. It's a tightrope mate!Ianbolton
    • Just to specify, none of our comments are justifying why Weinstein was a complete power-hungry prick abusing women the way he did!Ianbolton
    • Agreed, these guys are cunts & need to be strung out to dry. As with all these thieves & abusing cunts. I hope these cunts were involved in stealing my workmugwart
    • shit sounds too personal!mugwart
    • In terms of how to correct this cultural behavier. I think we just need to call it out when we see it. The hardest part will be with friends...pango
    • I believe in honesty, sounds corney but if we all are honest and every moment, i think only good things can come. I do believe that our minds are no longer oursmugwart
    • so will take a while to shift through the clutter up there!
