Seeing Elung slowly fly apart at the seams and incur incredible emotional and psychological damage after buying Twitter is a thing of beauty and a joy forever.

Another year and he'll be playing Russian Roulette with his brain-chipped monkeys in a Cybertruck at a motel car park in Reno.

Elon Musk calls strikes ‘insane’ as Swedish workers take on Tesla
Strike at carmaker prompts sympathy action from dockers, painters and postal workers in fight over Swedish labour model

Elon Musk has decried a wave of “insane” strikes focused on Tesla workshops in Sweden, as workers target the US electric car manufacturer in a strike calling for collective bargaining rights.

In what has been portrayed as the largest fight in decades to save Sweden’s union model from global labour practices, the powerful trade union IF Metall has been leading a strike across eight Tesla workplaces in Sweden for five weeks.

It is the first time workers for the US carmaker have gone on strike and on Thursday, Musk, the tech billionaire and chief executive of Tesla, made his feelings clear, writing on X, formerly Twitter: “This is insane.”

He was responding to a social media post about secondary, or sympathy, strikes by Swedish postal services that are preventing licence plates reaching new Tesla cars.

Paris mayor calls X a ‘global sewer’

The mayor of Paris says she is quitting X, formerly Twitter, arguing the social media platform has “become a gigantic global sewer” that counters democracy and peaceful debate.

In a lengthy post titled “Why I am leaving Twitter” on Monday, Anne Hidalgo said it has “become an impressive tool for destroying our democracies.”

“Today, controversy, rumor and crude manipulation rule public debate, fueled by Twitter’s algorithm, where the only thing that counts is the number of ‘likes.’ Facts are irrelevant,” Hidalgo wrote.

Without directly naming Elon Musk, she said under “its owner” the platform “intentionally exacerbates tensions and conflicts.”

“This medium has become a gigantic global sewer, and we should continue to wade into it?” Hidalgo asked, adding later, “With its thousands of anonymous accounts and its troll farms, life on Twitter is the exact opposite of democratic life.”

Bluesky is getting to the point where it's a viable alternative IMO. There's always a collective action problem in switching to another app or social network because all the people are on the original app and so no one wants to switch over, but I think it's approaching the level where there are enough users that it works.

Just hope they continue to build out the UI and add more features. Right now it's like a clone of Twitter, a little snappier in terms of perfomance but lacking some features such as DMs. Also more difficult than it should be to discover new content and people to follow.

On the positive side though you aren't being bombarded with OnlyFans girls and crypto scammers every ten seconds.

Ubisoft has 'paused' advertising on Twitter

Ubisoft has confirmed that it has joined other major companies who have paused advertising on X, the social media platform formerly known as Twitter, following a Media Matters report which claims that the platform has been running ads for companies including Apple, IBM, NBCUniversal, and Comcast owner Xfinity next to pro-Nazi content. X denies that regular users will see such ads next to extremist content, claiming that Media Matters intentionally manipulated a feed to produce that result.

The list of companies who have halted activity on X is long and potentially extremely damaging for a platform struggling with a decline in advertising revenues: IBM, Apple, Disney, Warner Bros, Lionsgate, NBCUniversal, Xfinity, Sony, and others have all opted to stop running ads, at least temporarily.

Paris Hilton's entertainment company is suspending an advertising campaign on X, according to CNN, expanding the list of companies fleeing the social platform after billionaire Elon Musk's recent tweet endorsing an antisemitic conspiracy theory.

The move by 11:11 Media to distance itself from X, formerly known as Twitter, comes only a month after the companies announced an exclusive partnership that would include live video and commerce. X CEO Linda Yaccarino in October welcomed Hilton to the "@X family," tweeting: "The queen of pop culture, music, business and TV is #Sliving on X."

Elon Musk Trolls His Way Into the OpenAI Drama

Elon Musk cofounded OpenAI but left after his own failed coup. Now he has shared an unsigned letter containing unverified accusations against the recently fired CEO, Sam Altman.

ELON MUSK NEEDED fewer than 100 characters to add new chaos to the ongoing crisis swirling around OpenAI after the shock firing of CEO Sam Altman last week.

In a post on X on Tuesday, Musk drew attention to an anonymous letter accusing Altman of various examples of underhanded behavior as CEO of OpenAI.

The link shared by Musk was to a copy of the letter uploaded to GitHub, a resource for sharing code. That copy of the letter was removed less than an hour after Musk posted it. Sources with knowledge of Altman's tenure at OpenAI told WIRED they were not familiar with the accusations. Altman did not immediately reply to a request for comment.
