Remove NSFW threads and you will be moderating POTD instead
- cannonball19785
Think of it as a steam valve, and you are a steam moderator. The steam will eventually go somewhere. Right now you have it concentrated in one place.

i am for the idea of being able to hide that type of content on demand. completely removing it is going to backfire, much like many people above have already mentioned it.
- face_melter2
Turning it into reddit with up and downvotes is a miserable pursuit - the dopey gonks with sock puppet accounts will just fuck about even more.
Just add an option to toggle to hide it in the user profiles and have it hidden by default if you are not logged in.

QBN, I'm all for cleaning up old, irrelevant posts, broken links, personal attacks etc. Even removing posts from RIP users in the past. I do have the time and desire to do so because QBN has been good to me for almost 20 years. As long as QBN approves and get Aye on common round rules, I can start, whatever I can help with.

A good point made in the comments here -
Take a look at the list of sites where content has been blacklisted (e.g c@r0collective for the last decade) and reflect on how many of these ‘editorial’ choices have contributed to the decline of design content being posted here...
If it’s technically unfeasible then post the problem and someone here will solve it.. embrace the spirit of web forums and live a little
Or work with us here and let’s write the community guidelines...
There are loads of things you could be doing to improve the family but you need to go into therapy before you can fix the kid’s.

does this mean if QBN is going to go all work-safe they'll give me a job

Sons, your mother and I have decided to separate.

I also think that QBN will always be considered a small-time, pathetic forum. No one in the industry takes it seriously. The QBN brand is very much male-dominated, insular and immature holdover from the days when web forums were a thing people cared about.
Maybe the QBN brand can change over time, and this is a step in the right direction, but it will take time.
Honestly, if you came here with no context and saw Boobs of the Day Butt of the Day Chick of the Day... who takes this seriously. I agree with _mort, above.

There isn't really much nudity in COTD. My last 4 post for illustration:

https://www.qbn.com/reply/402539…
https://www.qbn.com/reply/402378…It's circa how it was meant to be.
There is one user who posts obvious pornography, but I suggest you moderate the user, not the thread.
In fact, make it a challenge:
Keep boobs/butt/thighs of the day threads open for posting, but no nudity allowed! :)
- comicsans2
Shocked at the suggestion there is moderation given how so many bad-faith posters were left to roam unchecked for months. At least those threads kept everything in one place and the 'moderators' knew where to go.

I think we need to think about how to have a better life. And so I agree with all the trash removal.
Perhaps a trashcan icon can be next to thread titles - and those that receive the most clicks per week are automatically binned.

The xxx threads are slowly being reinstated?
Hmmmm
1. QBN removes all porn threads
2. Two days later, QBN is porn again
3. ??????
4. Profit
- CyBrainX3
I'm voting against removal for NSFW threads. They are easily avoided. Getting rid of hate speech and such is worth removing.
- cannonball19780
I vote for removal, but I think removal is a partial solution and a bad one if it is the only step taken. Silencing a problem does not get rid of it.
