- Wonder what the total$ cost of all that loss sub up to. Imagine the amount split up and sent to all 18 year olds in Russia. Would be better than war.shapesalad
- Will you accept rubles as payment? (said in best Russian accent)kaiyohtee
- In a comment on twitter somewhere I've seen a number, something like $3B so far
Remember they say they spend around $70B/year on their army lolgrafician - But by the looks of their army in this invasion, they probablu spend a few lousy billions and pocket the restgrafician
- "Russia has the world's fourth-highest military expenditure, spending $61.7 billion in 2020" LOL NOTgrafician

One the oldest and most reliable nuclear blast calculators has seen a “tsunami” of traffic in recent days, perhaps unsurprising given the constant stream of news about Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
This week in the Galaxy Brain newsletter, the Atlantic writer Charlie Warzel interviewed Alex Wellerstein, creator of Nukemap, about the increase in popularity. Nukemap calculates blast radius, human death toll and other effects of a nuclear bomb at a given location. That means people can estimate what might happen in their hometown if a bomb were to go off.

- So US officials leak this info? Now Putin knows, greatNBQ00
- The look on Shoigu's face during the long table meeting looked a bit menacing. He can't like seeing his men slaughtered like they are.mandomafioso
- This one seems like propaganda, take a look at the "reporter" guy's account. It doesn't even tell which publication he writes for.yuekit
- Maybe is fake, to sow seeds of doubt at the top of Kremlin. Not a bad tactic. Make Putin paranoid. Unless he expects it.shapesalad
- he should do a better job maintaining his army then throwing a coup. Funny that this is his failure.Beeswax
- Nexta is Ukraine's propaganda arm. They are just trying to get into Putin's head.garbage

Reliable sources (in Polish intelligence) can't believe their own numbers. Apparently Russia is loosing half (!!!) of its armor when moving (normal ratio is around 5%).

Russian troops fired at and robbed Swiss journalist Guillaume Briquet. While working in the Mykolaiv region, his car with PRESS marking was shot, he was dragged from it
Russian invaders took away the passport, 3000 euros, personal belongings, a helmet, the material filmed on the camera, and the laptop. He is currently safe in a Ukrainian hospital

For some people the war is only about numbers. The number of refugees, the number of armored vehicles or operations.
To me, this is the first war, where I actually know people personally who are fearing for their lives or maybe even already got killed. Since yesterday, I don't have contact to a model from Kiev anymore. I know she stayed in the city with her boyfriend.
These were modern people, like you and me. They had jobs and belonged to the better-off people in the Ukraine. But their life is ending now at age 27. And all we can do is watch this happen.
We also know where this might lead to and still we can't stop the war.
I cried a few times in the past days (and I barely do). Each morning I wake up hoping this was just a nightmare.
- Well said. I hope these people will prevail and this nightmare stop soon.NBQ00
- they are probably busy with war. don't give up on them.uan
- Stories like this.... heartbreaking. Hopefully they prevail.shapesalad
- I think of my grandparents, who escaped Warsaw at the start of WWII. How I wouldn't be here today if they weren't so lucky.nocomply
- The photos I'm seeing and the stories I'm reading feel so similar.nocomply
- :( I’m very sorry to hear that Simon. Every day I open up the news hoping to read that this madness has stopped.maquito
- It's crazy how far removed i personally feel, no matter how much news I read. But the reality is that people are being slaughtered - FOR WHAT?? Peace and loveIanbolton
