Germany Is Displacing Afghan Refugees to Make Way for Ukrainians
Hundreds of Afghans who fled the Taliban have been evicted as an even larger flood of Ukrainian war refugees arrive.

An analysis:
https://lefteast.org/frontiers-o…
"Ukrainian resistance to the Russian military is celebrated as heroic, brave, and democratic, and simultaneously self-determination, national liberation, popular violent resistance elsewhere is not extended the same celebration, instead labelled terrorist, with ‘heroes’ jailed, ‘illegalized’, and so on. Our responsibility is to ask, “why?”. Surely, the circumstances confronting the citizens of Afghanistan, Syria, Iraq, Yemen, Gaza, Ethiopia are also exceptional? By the end of 2021, the conflict in Yemen alone had caused 377,000 deaths, nearly 70 per cent of them children younger than five.[v] We did not see free toys and food on the Polish border for those women and children, but rather tear gas, water cannons, truncheons, police dogs, and razor wire... Shall we also just ignore how Poland was a handmaiden to the forces destroying Iraq and Afghanistan while at the same time instituting a far-right sexist regime at home? Ukrainian troops, too, went to Iraq. The UK, Canada, and France, among others, have been quick to send money to the International Criminal Court (ICC) to investigate Russian war crimes in Ukraine, while the ICC has been struggling to find funds to prosecute war crimes in Afghanistan, Syria, Iraq. Our responsibility is to ask why. Liberal justice is intertwined with systemic racism as Western resources are funneled to Ukraine for a ‘crisis in Europe’ but withheld in situations when Western countries are opposed to accountability for their own war crimes. The same thing goes for humanitarian relief. In this light, as Ralph Wilde writes, the theatrics of official European sympathies for Ukraine appear as “a sociopathic, racist gaslighting of the people of Iraq”, and the many others dispossessed by European and North American wars."
- didn't know Poland shared a border with Yemen, but hey, we learn something new every dayrzu-rzu
- Maybe they don't want more Khurram's in their country where they shit on the west every moment they have yet enjoy residency benefits.hotroddy
- i think they're all fucking hypocrites to be honest.Khurram
- But maybe it is just a distance thing, like rzu-rzu says. Don't know why they're evicting Afghan refugees though :-/Khurram

How many people were aware of this? The guy who led the separatist rebels in Donbas and formed the Donetsk Peoples' Republic, kicking off the conflict that eventually led to the current war, was not Ukrainian...he was a Russian FSB agent who also helped lead the annexation of Crimea.
And he has basically admitted the whole Donbas conflict being a Russian operation...
"How Russia invaded Ukraine as told by FSB colonel Girkin"
https://euromaidanpress.com/2014…
Leaked emails showed that Putin's close advisor Vladislav Surkov was directing the situation from Moscow.
https://medium.com/dfrlab/breaki…
So Russia actually invaded Ukraine two times in 2014, once to take Crimea and then to start this conflict in the Donbas. They then use the conflict they created as an excuse to invade all of Ukraine in 2022.

The first prime minister of the DPR who is also Russian and a member of Putin's "United Russia" party, also admitted it...
Former Donbas militant leader admits ‘republics’ exist because of Putin and Russia
“I want to say that we are rather beholden to the President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin. By we I mean those volunteers who arrived in 2014. We owe him that smallest of things – our lives. Everybody who arrived in the first half of 2014 remembers what the situation was like in the second half of July 2014."
"If not for his policy, if not for his decisions and actions, we would not be here. In the same way as that there would not be Russian Donbas, and the Donetsk and Luhansk people’s republics."

Interesting read by a Russian artist explaining how the far-right imperialist ideology of "the Russian world" developed, was co-opted by Putin and eventually made its way to the world of contemporary art.

Igor Girkin, the Russian who led the separatist uprisings in Ukraine, seems to be have become disillusioned...now he calls the Donestk Republic a shithole and blames Putin for neglecting the people there.
Notice he talks about the current leader being a con artist and it's true...the current head of Donestk Republic was previously involved in one of the largest ponzi schemes of all time, MMM. Great people they picked out for this lol

Too early to celebrate but it's looking somewhat dire for Russia. The scaled back Donbas offensive may need to be scaled back further
- I remember many media outlets saying Russians would encircle this big region with about 30K UA forces. And they can't even "lberate" Azovstal.NBQ00
- It seems in the end Ukraine will end up with more land than before. And I'm not speaking of Donbas, but Russian border region.NBQ00
- The more extreme war supporters start to turn on the government...same guy I posted about above who helped start the war is now calling Shoigu a traitoryuekit

Wow Macron is a fucking shithead. He needs to stop calling Putin every 5 minutes.
Interviewed by Italian TV Rai1, Zelensky confirmed that Macron has proposed for Ukraine to give up some territory to Russia in order to present a face-saving option for Putin.
Zelensky said it’s out of the question.
Macron is the one who needs to save his face after this.
- Nah, Macron is right. You think Putin's replace will be a saint? Russia is a shit tough country to mangle. Putin lose war, he's out, even tougher nut in...shapesalad
- .. and this new tough cookie is going to be even more trigger finger ready with the nukes - as he's not inheriting any war toys, tanks etc.shapesalad
- We let give Putin an out, we roll it back, we get back to importing Potash etc, and we avoid a global famine + nukes being fired.shapesalad
- I'd guess it's also because some countries are more invested in Russia. Germany and France more than USA, UK, etc.yuekit

We've reached the point where Russian troops are now shooting themselves
- pinch of salt on this. a small percent will do this. and it works well for Ukraine moral.shapesalad
- Not making any excuses for the Russian troops, but there was a deployment of Chechen barrier troops from the very beginning.garbage
- ie Any Russian soldier that had some moral qualms and took an about-face had a death squad waiting for them.garbage
- It seems like such a chaotic situation that they can just desert and try to find their way home.yuekit

"It’s mainly Nato and the EU who care about the war in Ukraine
For much of the rest of the world it’s not such a big deal
...There are wider lessons to be drawn from the handling of the Ukraine war in the UN. Commentators often refer to international opinion as if it is synonymous with the views of a limited number of liberal democracies, as if the “end of history” predicted in 1992 by the political philosopher Francis Fukuyama means that we all now share the same set of values. But we don’t. Beyond Nato and the EU, there are only a handful of countries whose political instincts are likely to be identical to ours on most issues. Being a democracy, which both India and South Africa are, does not mean seeing the world the way that Britain does."

https://www.youtube.…yuekit - Most countries agree that territorial sovereignty should be preserved. However countries that are far from the action and need Russian oil aren't gonna say shitmandomafioso

So this Russian BMP crew see that their colleagues in the BMP in front of them got blown up by mines and yet still drives next to the blown up BMP in the same direction and gets blown up too:

Makes sense.

Growing evidence of a military disaster on the Donets pierces a pro-Russian bubble: https://www.nytimes.com/2022/05/…
Russians lost over 400-500 soldiers at once trying to cross the Donets river.
Here’s a thread by the guy who was part of the operation and did the planning for the UA artillery:

Russian Duma parliament member is calling a ban on prison swap of the 265 injured Azov fighters that were allowed to exit Azovstal on the premise they would be exchanged for Russian POW's and is seeking death penalty instead.
Russian negotiator Leonid Slutsky even said on Tuesday that the fighters of the Azov regiment have no right to life. Russia should consider the death penalty for these nationalist militants, Slutski said. “They do not deserve to live in the face of the monstrous human rights crimes they have committed and continue to commit against our prisoners.”
