The difference between knowing and believing?
- This is still a belief. It is an unproven theory and therefore belief.Morning_star
- but a belief based on scientific knowledge is more valid than mythological hunchesmonospaced
- Why? Validity has nothing to do with it. The inherent truth lessons contained in a myth (Greek myths, Sumerian myths, Navaho myths, bible myths) are arguably far more useful to humans than complex scientific speculation with no practical value. Until it's understood, proven and applied as a real world solution it is less valuable to the world than the myths of Gilgamesh.Morning_star

We know a shitload about the moon. GRAIL worked on this for the last few years. http://www.nasa.gov/mission_page…

- nasa is a filter...yurimon
- it's also a huge space agency that is dedicated to figuring this shit outmonospaced

Images and radio and sensor readings are all pretty the same thing — analyses of the electromagnetic spectrum. Some fire lasers, some ping radio long-waves, some fire microwaves or x-rays. It's all the same shit.
If you trust a photo from a scientific source, you should as equally trust a radio reading from same.
If you trust neither, you'll have to get busy building an interplanetary launch system and go check yourself.
- ...i'd advise 6 months playing Kerbal Space Program to get a handle on Just How Hard this shit is.detritus

The International Space Station is about 200 miles from the Earth. The moon is approximately 200,000 miles from the Earth. By comparison, the closest planet Venus is about 25 million miles away at its closest point, and 160 million miles at its furthest point.

The only reason I brought up the fact that you dont know anything about the moon you just believe what you're told, mono, is not because I necessarily believe anything different to you about the moon.
I bring it up because I think it's strange when people like yourself arrogantly rubbish off someone else's thoughts as if you know better, when really you have know way of knowing yourself.
- Only a Sith Lord deals in absolutes
;-)set - I'm arrogantly rubbishing the idea that the moon isn't just rock and dirt... sorry if that's hard to understandmonospaced
- You don't know that.set
- listen to mono he knows via astral projection...yurimon
- what else would it be made of?monospaced
- Not the pointset
- I was taught that the moon is rock, so it must be cause the education system cant be wrong.yurimon
- or maybe it's just a coverup because it's really cheese and would disrupt our cheese markets on earthmonospaced

Go to the moon in Google Earth. I highly doubt it is fake.
- fadein110
I doubt it is totally fake but do wonder if some elements were faked.
NASA seem to encourage the conspiracy theories by not giving solid answers to some simple questions.- "totally fake" you mean that it is partially fake, somewhat fake?utopian
- yep partially fake. haha. okay that didnt make sense at all.fadein11
- I think they faked for the audience just incase something happened or afraid to reveal something to Russians.yurimon
- If it was fake why do you think the Russians never claimed anything of the kind?Morning_star
- < cause the russians were never really the enemy you have been led to believefadein11
- Do you have any comprehension of the propaganda games going between East and West during the cold war? Are you suggesting this didn't happen?Morning_star
- this didn't happen?Morning_star
- yes I do thanksfadein11

I find it interesting that most moon conspiracy theorists seem unaware of this movie.
Maybe because it's old.
- OP310
so none of us should believe anything about the moon b/c we haven't been there? Am I understanding this logic correctly?
- If you can call it that, yes, that's what's being said.detritus
- it's laughable and infuriating what people think is logic around heremonospaced
