Midjourney AI
Pretty wild statement, I actually quite liked that guys images.
AI is still really limited, but maybe I'm wrong and he'll build a new scifi universe for India.

Dall-E, Midjourney, Stable Diffusion (etc) - who's playing, and with which?
Created in https://emprops.ai version of StableDiffusion
You can use variables in prompts and influence the outputs with banks of other images or javascript.
These are some of my experiments working towards a final prompt.
You can massively upscale too but it chews through credits when experimenting.- This is up there with the best generated imagery I have seen, very nice!slappy
- Nice!prophetone
- Thank you Slappy!
It's taken a lot of tweaking and training and credits to get to this point. Trying to get the AI to keep it as minimal as possible.microkorg - But I think that AI thinks that we want things as cluttered and crammed full of detail. haha.microkorg

canada
How many of you Canadians think it would be a big deal to be referred to 'illegals' if all of a sudden there was a mass migration of canucks to the USA?
- with Trudeau at the helm it could be reality.hotroddy
- I dgafnb
- What's in a name? That which we call a rose, By any other name would smell as sweet.nb
- Who cares, Canadians don’t give a hoot aboot fairy tale pipe dreams... we have all the syrup, the poutine, the beer and the beavers we needprophetone
- if a bunch of trump rednecks made their way up north they'd be considered illegals?hotroddy
- ^ Yes. If they came here illegally.monNom
- I don’t get your question. Canadians moving south or Americans moving north?_niko
- Our attitude would be singing “ I am an illegal alien, a Canadian in New York” any chance we got_niko
- Either. What would offend you most?hotroddy
- Are you afraid of Ryan gosling and Ryan Reynolds? lol Canadians are indistinguishable from most yanks. Some of the US’s biggest stars are canucks_niko
- Canaricans /Ameriadian?everyangle
- Drake, weekend, beiber, the Ryans, half your hockey teams plus a handful of nba stars. Plus we’re all educated and sort of literate_niko

- canadians have always had a place in american cinema. Many played roles in the
'midwest'. AKA Candy in chicago. Akroid in chicagohotroddy - Cananda's relationship with 'the midwest' is what allowed the incredible canadian talent to become relatable to USAhotroddy
- canadian comedians are the watered down british comedian. their wit just as quick as their british counter part but still relatable for americans. :/hotroddy
- One thing that is a bummer about demonizing “illegals” is that immigrants (incl illegals) pay a high rate of taxes compared to services receivednb
- I would find that to be annoying. Actually I currently find that to be annoyingnb
- you pay your income taxes but don't receive the benefits?hotroddy
- the list of jewish canadians actors is just as long.hotroddy
- You get benefits like infrastructure but you don’t get benefits like unemployment insurance, Medicare, etc.nb
- I personally know illegal immigrant families that have been paying taxes for 30+ years just in case the govt ever decides to offer them a path to citizenshipnb
- They get none of the social safety net benefits and are at risk of deportation at any notice. But they keep on paying taxesnb
- yes, you would want to prevent this at the border. otherwise what is the point of a borderhotroddy
- The one benefit of USA is you see like 20-30 flavour options of those little icing covered Hostess pie things at the gas stationprophetone

- pango, Trudeau has been a disaster for Canada. That's what happens when you put a drama teacher at the helmhotroddy
- Sure sure. But what do you mean it could happened when he's at the helm? Cuz he's already at the helm but it hasn't happened yet?pango
- You've been evading the same question. Probably going to disappear again.pango
- You think this is a gotcha moment to save face for not knowing the size of lake ontario? I was being hyperbolic. But with Trudeau at the helm you never know.hotroddy
- lol meh i still don't know the size of ontario lake. quite frankly i just care about it.
so you were being overly dramatic? he's been at the helm for almost 10pango - yrs and what you said hasn't happened yet.
when is it going to happen?
so you fell into strawman fallacy?pango - He’s a minority govt, and he is extremely unpopular. Let’s agree that he’s a terrible prime minister.hotroddy
- sure. but it has been 8 yrs. when is what you said going to happened?pango
- I didn't say it was happening. it was a joke not to be taken literally. But Canada was better off 10 years ago than it is today.hotroddy

Dune (movie)
on Morning_star's advice i went back for another look (it's cheap on mondays, see). having had my expectations dashed on the first showing i wasn't expecting a loth and i have to say it was much better as a result.
there are still a couple of sections that need cutting out, and christopher walken still phones it in as emperor, but otherwise i enjoyed it much more than when i first saw it. fabulous visuals, fabulous sound and for some reason the plot stumbled along a lot better than on the first showing.
so thank you Morning_star!
- You're very welcome. A second viewing is definitely the key.Morning_star
- Walken and Pugh were disappointing. An empire of excesses, they should have raised the bar in some way.i_monk
- To hear that Pugh was disappointing hurts a bit. Normally, she's a first-rate scene stealer.Continuity
- Definitely think walken is the weakest part of it. They needed some one with more menace/gravitas.thumb_screws
- +1 Pugh and Walken didn't belong in this onegrafician
- ^ why not try Sienna Miller and Russell Crowe?grafician
- I think Pugh was good but Walken definitly didnt fit in there, his playing and caracter doesnt work.HAL9001
- interview said Pugh will have more to do next movie. like how zendaya was barely in the first movie.pango
- Reckon a Gary Oldman, Hugo Weaving or Jeremy Irons would of worked better. I thought Pugh was ok.thumb_screws

Getting in shape?
I think the absolute most important thing if you're making any changes to your meals, exercise, life is that these new changes are something you can stick to. I've tried cutting out bread, but I love bread! Same with beer. BEER! It really clicked for me when I was in Atlanta on a week-long business trip a few years back and at every restaurant I went to, the calories were printed next to each item. 1,600 calories for a cheeseburger and fries? No way, that's a 9 mile run to burn it off and it's just not worth it.
When I heard my kid say "Daddy's fat", it woke me up. I was soft and fat - 6'3" and hovering around 220lbs. This was May of 2020 right as the pandemic was sinking in. I had no core muscles and as a result was constantly dealing with back issues. I had a heart arrhythmia and as someone who had kids later in life, I wanted to be healthy and active for my boys. I wanted them to see their Dad exercising so it wasn't a foreign concept to them. So I said fuck this, and started exercising and running. I use dumb bells every morning - even if I don't exercise to failure, I still touch my weights every day. Then I laced up an old pair of Asics, stretched, and pushed myself. Once I got to a point where I could run and breathe with rhythm I didn't want to stop because I worked too hard to get there, and then it was okay to have 4 slices of pizza, or a monster cheeseburger once in a while because tomorrow was a run day and I would burn the calories. Four years later I still run 3.35 miles every other day, in snow, rain, on business trips and I've lost 40 pounds, can feel some solid core muscles in my abdomen and my boys look at my "muscles" now and say OOooooh. And now my 11 year old runs with me on weekends. I can eat what I want, but it feels better to eat healthy because i notice how much better I feel when I do. I made these changes that I could stick to, no keto, carbs, or fasting. Just loosely monitor caloric intake and then do something to burn calories and keep the metabolism going. Find something that you can stick to, and don't quit. There is some mental toughness needed. I hope this doesn't sound like I'm patting myself on the back, but I PROMISE you, if I can do it - anybody can do it.- This is why getting the right crystals is so importantnb

Dune (movie)
I watched Dune 2 twice this weekend. It was like watching one of my kids in a school production - it's never, ever going to be bad. However appallingly acted, technically inept, shoddily produced my love for their performance abides and defines the experience.
There's so much about the film that rocks hard: Villeneuve's direction, the costume design, the sound design, the cinematography, the score, the art direction... the lore, the humour... Giedi Prime, Feyd-Routha, the final fight scene, The voice, the unborn child, Stilgar, Validimir Harkonen... Paul getting all shouty when he addresses the Fremen... Chani getting rejected... Lady Jessica stoving the Harkonan soldiers head in... Riding the Shai-Hulud...and on and on.
It's imperfect, intricate, magnificent, visually and aurally stunning and if you have the desire? somewhere to lose yourself for 3 hours. I want to watch it again.
