Tomkat, Why is that any different than sayig typical American?
Isn't that easy for everyone in the world to say.
But when you got the proof (ww1 & ww2) to back up a sterotypical comment then I don't think that it is too easy. I think it is too sad, because millions died, as did my grand father.

"Believe me... if it was you, your mother, or your sister, you would sue for all you can get. "
believe me, i got some scars (in my head)... and I don't sue..
but that's another story.
you could only ask for compensation, not for greedy reasons, as most cases that reach our media from the US.
it's a bad thing, and it's good our justice system (for the most part) don't buy that evil US-justice trickery.
people experience bad things, but thinking only tons of dollars will do is something to be ashamed about..
anyway, i am out hugging liberal trees again.
laterz.

like i said.. im with you on this subject but if it was your kid... youd sue. i bet we all would. but instead it didnt happen to us.. and we just sit back and judge.
if you gave birth to a baby and someone ran over it... youd freak out. thats not greedy. what ever that lady gets from this she deserves completely.
bumps.. bruises... whatever. if you were on the hood of someone's car, you should get something. a couple grand at least. if you had something broken.. you should get much more. thats why we have insurance.. to cover this kind accident.
ive sued once when i was 13. i sued the city of costa mesa because i was walking down the street and i FELL THROUGH THE SIDEWALK into the sewer drain and scared my legs for life. the grate over the sewer drain was so rused when i walked over it, it broke. lucky for me i walked away with only some bad scars and a twisted ankle.
it could have been a lot worse. instead of replacing the drain cover they just left it rust until someone got hurt.
being a girl, i dont like scarys on my body. and because im black.. plastic surgery wouldnt help to get rid of it. dark peopel usually just scar more. so i have to live with it, and thats their bad. maybe now they'll keep up the city a littl ebetter and pay attention.
i do believe less is more.. and people should only go for what they think they actually deserve.
i think some of you need to imagion yourself in that situation before you start talking about how horrible and stupid it is to sue.
- shellie0
but on another note.. i could have, and didnt sue when 11 teeth were knocked out of my face at an accident at a gymnastics studio. my mom hadnt signed my release and liability papers yet either.

"Stop defending greedy multinational corporations."
It has nothing to do with it. Maybe it's a cultural thing, I dont know. The company where I work are doing major renovations to the office. Two weeks ago, I was'nt paying attention when I walked next to a wall where the nail was sticking out and it ripped thought two inch of flesh on my arm (I now have a scar there) Did I sue my employer, the construction company? no Why? Cause it was my fault for not paying attention. I hate when people blame everyone but themselve.
But in the case of the farmer's market, those people where not at fault. They should collect whatever insurance money the can.
- 4cY0
whatever. it's cultural.
i don't want to talk about it anymore.
it's just amazing how people can only talk about money, money, money, money, money, money, money, money, money, money, money, money, money, money, money, money, money, money, money, money, money, money, money, money, money, money, money, money, money, money, money, money, money, money, money, money, money, money, money, money, money, money, money, money, money, money, money, money, money, money, money, money, money, money, money, money, money, money, money, money, money, money, money, money, money, money, money, money, money, money, money, money, money, money, money, money, money, money, money, money, money, money, money, money, money, money, money, money, money, money, money, money, money, money, money, money, money, money, money, money, money, money, money, money, money, money, money, money, money, money, money, money, money, money, money, money, money, money, money, money, money, money, money, money, money, money, money, money, money, money, money, money, money, money, money, money, money, money, money, money, money, money, money, money, money, money, money, money, money, money, money, money, money, money, money, money, money, money, money, money, money, money, money, money, money, money, money, money, money, money, money, money, money, money, money, money, money, money, money, money, money, money, money, money, money, money, money, money, money, money, money, money, money, money, money, money, money, money, money, money, money, money, money, money, money, money, money, money, money, money, money, money, money, money, money, money, money, money, money, money, money, money, money, money, ...
it's just sooo deep in your culture, it frightens me now&then.

if you brew a pot of coffee at home and pour a cup do you take a sip right away. no its too hot. if you spilled that same freshly brewed coffee on yourself it would burn. because coffee is HOT!!! duh!!! its not mc donalds fault coffee is hot!
- unknown0
You're ok there cy?
- 4cY0
yeah, sorry.
but i have to agree with skonge there.
- 4cY0
altho i don't feel pityfull for MacD when i see it sued ofcourse.
:)
- shellie0
the point is they had regulations on how how it should be, and they didnt follow them. 3rd degree burns is not acceptable.
you guys are crazy. especially because youre not thinking from the veiwpoint of a woman. being a disfigured woman is much worse than being a disfigured man. men dont mind scars as much as women do.
you guys suck
- skonge0
me either, its just rediculous. and its horrible that something like this has to happen. but don't put a farmers market in the middle of the street.
- shellie0
how how = *how hot
- shellie0
they also have a famers market on main street in venice. there shouldnt be a problem. theres not many places to have things like that in a place as crowded as LA thats not out of the way.
there is a famers market in a parking lot in santa monica down the way.. but near 3rd street is a prime location. i do think there shoiuld have been cement barracades at both ends of the street instead of those dinky fold up kind. but really.. the whole area has signs and such, its impossible to not know what day is farmers market day. its completely obvious in every way. there is NO WAY it jsut sneaks up on your and you cant see it a mile away, anway.
- 4cY0
I wasn't talking about your scars, i was reffering to the culture of sueing in general.
It leads to ridiculous claims, and imho that's a virus to a good human society.
my 2c.
sorry about your scars tho.
- 4cY0
there's markets on streets everywhere on the globe, they should just block it somewhat better next time, as they do with some other markets...

Especially somebody that sues for "emotional distress". Shit it's called life. Deal with it.
Anyways lets agree to disagree or something like that. Goodnight, and remember: coffee is hot!
