saved some junkies life the other night and it opened my eyes to a problem on my street i didn't know existed.
i was home alone with the boys and my middle son and i were playing on the couch in our front room. i saw a lady walk out from her garage across the street to her car in the driveway. i've never seen her before but thought nothing of it. next thing i know my middle son says 'oh no, she fell down' and i look out to see her on her back convulsing next to her car.
i jump up and bolt over across the street. i figured she was having a seizure and was going to help. when i was maybe 20 feet away she froze and stopped moving. it was only until i was up close did i see she was a heroin addict od-ing in my neighborhood. eyes wide open, no pulse,... holy fuck. i scream over to my neighbors house because he's a retired surgeon. he runs out with his 30 something son and i'm yelling to call 911. i start in with chest compressions and we call out the time. it was at this point i noticed my two older sons standing in our front door going ballistic.
we quickly decide i should go back to call 911 from my house and calm the boys. i hit the adt health alarm and call 911 while hugging the boys.
when the emt arrive no shit, just like from the movies, i see the emt slam his fist into her chest and she sits straight the fuck up wide awake. nalcor. nalcom? something like that.
emt said had i not showed up she would have died. :/
find out the nice lady's son is a heroin addict. he and his gf came over high as fuck and she argued with them and kicked them out. this fucking addict was out of her mind high going ot drive through my neighborhood. unbelievable. at any given night there could be 5-7 kids playing in our cul de sac. it's terrifying.
so now i find myself looking out the window more often watching for cars and action across the street. it probably doesn't help that i just started re-watching breaking bad last week and now i'm hyper aware.

What a tragedy in Florida with that alligator attack. I was reading the story and apparently the father saw the boy get grabbed by the gator and tried to pry it's mouth open to release him. The mom also jumped in and tried to help before he was dragged in to the water. What a nightmare for the parents to go through something like that on their vacation. My kids are in Yellowstone with their grandparents right now, I wish i could hug them. :(

I have become a regular with the whole "tea and milk" situation
