discussions like these make me into a hater of the God concept, and i do mean hate, as in worst degree of dislike

Why Hym?
Because people pervert the idea for social control?

discipler gives me the heebee geebees.
- arinya0
Sometimes Dis gives out a very condescending attitude.
- Mimio0
What's creepy is discipler is some regular NT'rs alias.
- anzelina0
i know. s/he only posts about religious stuff, and also seems hellbent [pun intended!] on proving JWs wrong.
who is the real discipler?
step forward.

#1 problem for JW's:
Ask them to look up all scripture regarding false prophets, then ask them how many Watchtower prophecies failed - this wont save them because they will start talking about the "light getting brighter" and obscure the evidence that the Watchtower Society is not a reliable source of information, let alone the voice of God.
All we can do is plant seeds for them and pray - the sad fact is they are being decieved by the greatest deciever in history.
I wouldn't nit pick with them if they had Jesus right, but they say he is Michael the Arch Angel. I feel you can get allot wrong, but if you have Jesus wrong, you got it all wrong.

Mimio, I'm related to both Christian Scientests and Jehovah's Witness and I can safely say CS are way more sane than JW. CS doesn't condone and protect child molesters for one or think everyone who isn't CS will burn in hell. JW does. Yeah, my family is wacko. Haha.
- arinya0
Geith, we don't believe in hell or believe anyone will die in hell and we dont' protect child moletsers? Where is that coming from?!?!? Honestly!
- Mimio0
I'm just going to pretend I never read that Geith.
- arinya0
yo live what prophecies you talking about?
I only know of one that I can remember and the Jehovah's Witnesses publically admitted they made a mistake.
- Mimio0
They predicted the end of the world a few times, obviously incorrectly.
- arinya0
Like I said I only know of one and well it was pretty bad. Alot of people fell out of faith but Jehovah's Witnesses took it back publically in our literature.
- Mimio0
They didn't say they made a mistake either, they said Jesus invisibly took the throne or something in 1928.
They made more eschatological predictions in 1914 and in 1975.
- anzelina0
i think that the mistakes that Jehovah's Witnesses make pale in comparison to the crimes the Catholic church and other christian organizations have committed.
and, well, they're rather nice people for the most part.
- Mimio0
That's not the point... if you're claiming to be a prophet of God and making false predictions, either you're a liar, or God is wrong.
- anzelina0
there's a difference between lying and making mistakes, no?
- Mimio0
If you knew the levity of what they did and how it affected people's lives you wouldn't split hairs.
