Ken Tomlinson, who ran the Voice of America during the Reagan administration and was formerly editor in chief of Reader's Digest, became chairman of CPB (Corporaion for Public Broadcasting) in September 2003.

JazX...compared to other conversations on this topic, I think you've done a good job at being tolerant on both sides of the topic.
are we to assume that PBS will being TBN v2?
NPR is funded by whom?

your president has blurred the line between religion and politics, blame him.

No Discipler, It's about honesty and agenda. Looks who's saying what, and why they're saying it. Consider the source.

I can't be bothered reading past the first line. Though it must be a good thread.
500!

JazX, you say you talk about "both sides" but in creation, there are like a million sides.

I have to go to lunch...wonder if this thread will be here when I get back. if not, someone start a thread called 'It died when I was at lunch' so I can get a recap....

ID doesn't have a cohesive position either. It's just contrary and reactionary for it's own (Christ's)sake. What exactly are the mechanics of ID? magic?
- discipler0
Not true, dobs. You either take the literal 6 day creative week in Genesis or you interpret each day as so many thousands of years. Either way, God still created a paradise earth and man chose to rebel. So, there really are only two positions on creation and both deny Macroevolution.

Since when is politics and (organized) religion a seperate thing?
The great thing was that the US used to be about was keeping religion away from the aparatus of politics and power as best could be allowed by human nature. Now that's getting compromised severly...
- discipler0
It is a reasoned hypothesis based on the evidence. It's science like any other science, Mimio. I.D. just posits that the complexity of organisms requires an intelligent designer. Naturalist science posits that life ultimately generated itself from nothing.
- mrdobolina0
discipler, does it make you happy that that fundamentalist is now in charge of pbs?
- discipler0
mrdobolina, i had no idea that a "fundamentalist" was in charge of PBS, nor do i care.

If you live in a world where you believe man rebelled from God (and thus is inherently sinful at base) and seperate from the rest of creation or you live in a world where you believe man evolved and is a part of the natural order of things, where individual suffering has a place, but not sin.
Both have different religious/spiritual implications and very different political ramifications.

Dishonesty again Discipler,
Naturalism doesn't say that at all. A atmoic singularity created the universe. Science doesn't attempt to explain things beyond that level, because there are no measures for observation available to us at this time.
