anyways, like clockwork, circa every 6 month a religious thread will popup
and the cat fight will start,
then I jump in, then feel stupid because my God isn't the even yahweh

I'm skeptical of people who believe they know what is possible and what is not.

@GeorgesII
This world IS so big and there IS a lot o experience! Your'e right! That's why it makes ME sad to see people stuck in an organized religion cage that doesn't even accept the wonder and beauty that science and nature actually exhibit.
And, your argument that meeting people who disagree (religious) doesn't make any rational point. Just because tons of people believe in God doesn't make it more valid.
- I accept science, I don't remember ever denying it, the thing that scares me is that more and more spiritualism is getting pushedGeorgesII
- I didn't say you didn't accept science. I'm saying that science actually has awe and wonder and answers.monospaced
- nature has power and order and beauty and immensity and equilibriummonospaced

@albums
so I guess you're an atheist, by the small experience I've had with your online persona, you love correcting others english, you love saying others are dumb, you love putting yourself on a pedestal, because you and only you know everything,I could fill this page of experience I've had dabbling in the dark art, but what would be the point to argue with those who know everything,
because you know science...this world is so big and there are so much thing to experience, it makes me sad to see people stuck in this cage which is no better than organized religion,
get a plane ticket, go travel the world, go meet people you disagree with, listen to their point of view, do not impose yours,
if you do this, maybe we will be able to talk on the same level- if you're going to communicate, do so with clarity.albums

"the difference between science and religion is that laws of science exist whether or not there is a human presence, religion on the other hand needs humanity to survive."
Not if 'god' exists.

GeorgesII,
REPORT:
Ability to communicate. Not present."sadly none of my rational atheist friends would get freaked out"
your subjective opinion of a personal polling is irrelevant to actual discussion.

true story
I lived for a year to this nice apartment block in quebec city and we would have to walk through a cemetary at night to go drink and party at the palladium (shitty whaling bar).sadly none of my rational atheist friends would get freaked out and would flat out refuse to go near it,
you know because ghost and shit, I can understand a religious person to be scared of ghost but the defenders of science, scared of the unknown, that's priceless,
anyways here's the link if you're ever in QC city

- how can you live with this dissonance, if I don't believe in a invisible manin the sky, why would I believe in invisible man on the groundGeorgesII
- at a cemetery,
makes no senseGeorgesII - How can you believe in only one god then? How can you have faith and use reason?i_monk
- That's just as dissonant.i_monk

I'm an agnostic atheist, yes. Because empirically, socially, personally, and every other -ly, I have no reason not to be. Do supernatural anthropomorphic beings exist, controlling nature? I doubt it; never been given a convincing reason to think they do.

@monospaced
How are you certain that there is no god.- scienceGeorgesII
- mostly because there's no need for him, but also because there's no evidence for himmonospaced
- him? or itantagonlsta
- him, it, whatevermonospaced
- No one's certain there is no god, it's just so totally improbable and pointless.zarkonite

@i_monk
You're an atheist? Can you defend your position without using religion or science?- the beauty of atheism is that it requires no defensemonospaced

If God existed, we wouldn't had spam on QBN.

What "atheist argument"? There are plenty of arguments against religion/belief that have nothing to do with science.
