According to the proposed bill, any person who qualifies as a resident on Aug. 28, 2019 who does not own an AR-15 would have a year to purchase one. In addition, anyone who becomes a state resident after Aug. 28, 2019 would have no later than a year to purchase an AR-15.
The bill was introduced for the first time and read on Feb. 27.
In addition, McDaniel filed a bill that would require every person 21 years of age and older to own a handgun if they are legally able to. That bill, House Bill 1052, was introduced two days prior to House Bill 1108.

AM Conservative radio cracks me up
Host:
This border crisis must be stopped, refugees need to wait in line! Now let me transition to Food for the Poor. Only you can stop the hungry people in Haiti. Go to foodforthepoor . com and donate and help these poor people stuck on an island. $9 feeds 92 families of four and gives them water for life.
- you have selective listening skills... that or you're purposely leaving out factsPonyBoy
- The right has selective compassion skills.BonSeff
- If it's about 'feelings'... then the left most certainly wins... still doesn't mean your statement wasn't straight-up false.PonyBoy
- what statement is false?monospaced
- the use of the word 'refugee' is often incorrect - the percentages show most folks are just busting the border for work / better life - they're not 'refugees'PonyBoy
- Cool, great. You proved my point and also acknowledge there is no national emergency. word.BonSeff
- You said nothing of emergency while using a word (refugee) that is inaccurate at best and obviously emotionally driven—not fact driven—you have no point, bon...PonyBoy
- ... you wanted to talk shit because you heard a commercial for an obvious charity and felt you'd associate w/some dude's radio show... again-you have no point.PonyBoy
- Why don't you do some research about how our CIA completely ran amok in central America and get back to me.BonSeff
- My point was the right's feigning empathy.BonSeff
- But that went right by you.BonSeff
- They have plenty of empathy but simply don't run on emotion when their are obvious differences between a 'refugee' and someone breaking the law.PonyBoy
- Focus on changing our border laws if you want to let more folks in 'legally'... calling out republicans as unempathetic isn't going to do shit...PonyBoy
- ... and skims right over the reality that there is a huge difference between someone running for their lives (refugees) and someone looking for a better life.PonyBoy
- *their = therePonyBoy
- Right here on QBN there are 'legal' aliens living in the States. They've been here for 15+ years (they can out themselves if they want - not my place to)...PonyBoy
- ... the point is they came here legally and ARE STILL working on their citizenship. Those who break the fucking border that aren't refugees...PonyBoy
- Meh, I can't... Thanks for weighing in.BonSeff
- ... are skipping that 'line' you spoke of. That is what your radio conservatives are preaching... that's not a lack of empathy either. If you listen closely...PonyBoy
- ... they're all for immigration as long as the rules are followed. Again - if the rules are shitty (I think they are)... let's change them by discussing that...PonyBoy
- ... instead of trying to equate all conservatives as unempathetic... else you'll be considered unreasonable (and a dick) by anyone w/a touch of common sense.PonyBoy
- "Meh, I can't... Thanks for weighing in."
Yeah... that's weak, Bon... you can talk shit but you can't back it up. <3 *hugsPonyBoy - Not weak, again, mix in some research on central america. I am not going to do it for you.BonSeff
- talk shit? what are you, in 8th grade? jesus dude.BonSeff
- lol.. you're talking shit instead of using any facts... "refugees need to wait in line!" That is shit-talk... not fact-based. It's bunk. And yes yes...PonyBoy
- ... Central America has their heads up their asses in many countries... I would want to get the fuck out of those various spots w/my family just as...PonyBoy
- ... much as the next guy. And believe it or not pretty much every 'radio conservative' (the people you're shit-talking) agrees with you.PonyBoy
- The point here is that the MAJORITY of those illegally breaking the border are NOT refugees. Do your research on that... "I am not going to do it for you."PonyBoy
- "refugees need to wait in line!" That is shit-talk
Thank you, again proving my point!
I was talking about AM radio hostsBonSeff - Thanks for sticking around though... there's still a possibility of a conversation here. :)PonyBoy
- just stop.
you win, dogg. You are a big 'ol winner!
Fuckin word!BonSeff - *sigh... if that's all you got... then yeah... I win. *shrugsPonyBoy
- I need to meet with a contractor, but if you want to give yourself more rope, keep commenting. Go nuts!BonSeff
- factless... empty... still talking shit and not willing to address the difference between refugees and those simply breaking the law... weeeak.PonyBoy
- https://i.imgur.com/…Gnash
- you do realize that he's just quoting the host, not talking shit right?monospaced
- nope, fuck this exchange was brutal.BonSeff
- I guarantee the host didn't say 'refugees' wait in line—again—you changed words. You can't tell (or refuse to tell) the diff between an immigrant and a refugeePonyBoy
- Any 'conservative' am guy wouldn't make that mistake... or you're tuned into an idiot which would make sensePonyBoy
- Here in N. Texas between the two large markets on AM there is Davis, Gallagher, Prager, Hannity, Elder, Gorka, Loesch, Beck, Shapiro, Savage...BonSeff
- Yep, all idiots.BonSeff
- In terms of this declared national emergency on the southern border, what is your distinction between immigrant ans refugee?BonSeff
- Both Cruz and Rubio trotted out stories about their folks coming to America with a fiver in their underwear. Where would you slot them?BonSeff
- I gave you my distinction above... and Beck, Hannity, Elder, Beck... Savage... blah blah wouldn't turn away a real refugee (someone running for their life)PonyBoy
- I know a lot of folks w/a fiver left in their pants (been there myself... sure you've been there too)... those aren't refugeesPonyBoy
- If you're coming here for a better life you're not alone. I'll say it again... there are legal QBNrs here in the states that reup their green card status...PonyBoy
- ... but are still here LEGALLY. Keyword right there, bon. You want to mix definitions then shit all over conservatives based on your definition... pretty sillyPonyBoy
- Do you think it's right to cut in line, Bon? Do you do it at the store? You teach your kids to do that?PonyBoy
- For the number of friends / loved ones I have... I truly feel bad that they have been here in the States 15+ years and are still working on their...PonyBoy
- ... citizenship. Meanwhile hundreds of thousands hop the border w/out a fuck given and someone speaks up about and they're called 'racist'.PonyBoy
- I'm all for overhauling our immigration laws.. but until that time comes get in fucking line w/everyone else doing it legally.PonyBoy
- Nobody has said anything about racism. Border jumpers are here because there is a market for them. Milton Friedman and all that shit.BonSeff
- For the record:
Border jumpers ≠ refugee imho.
I grew up in an agricultural border town.BonSeff - Central Americans are another ball of wax.BonSeff

ukit on the idea of UBI, what do you think of simply getting rid of SS and the marketing mirage behind early retirement and bliss. Might be better to take off more time early in life and work later with more experience. Personally I don't really buy into the idea my retirement years are my best and where my money should be focused.
SS is 12.4% so 40k year salary would give you about an extra 400 a month (but now would need to be taxed as income). Money to be used now in the same thinking that money is best given to people to choose how it serves them best. Not snap or aid with restrictions. And 400 is actually a lot to a strapped 40k year salary. Many studies show 200 dollars would change so much.
Instead of UBI might it be better to focus on dissolving gov programs that are failing and not living up to the promises of the proposers who are now long and dead. This one would also directly effect the middle-lower classes the most wealth the caps on the tax and deadbeats just being deadbeats.
I think instead sometimes its better to go backwards and fix problems than just trying to toss bandaids because easier politically.
And on a side note I'd love to stop giving people tax benefits perversly incentivize giving money(power) to corporations and banks every month as 401k/ira investment funds. Another christian style promise of glorious future if you invest early. The non investment of people who know nothing is better than blind investment. A change in the culture of how our retirement investing is seen could help with more monthly funds towards things that are important now. While tuning down the banks power and manipulations. Pretty much every traded companys is trading over its real value. Like playstations on ebay at launch when supply is limited. But the constant influx of passive capital I think gives the banks so much leeway that price discovery is out.
- what kind of returns are you getting on that non investment?monospaced
- You really think it would be easier politically to cancel Social Security without replacing it with anything?yuekit
- HA no it wouldn't be easy rolling back terrible regulation is painful and quite negative politically. People like idea of free shit or get more than they paid.********
- but instead of proposing more untested bandaids that might make things worse why not look rationally at rolling back poor policy?********
- @mono Responsible savers has not been a a good option. Good guys finish last. Central bank policy has inflated asset prices so high right now.********
- I hoped powell would stay strong on promise, but got spooked on liquidity and a massive quick collapse. now cornered. No longer is any market in control.********
- but as far as question to ukit is concerned is not that a viable option to give more lower income peopel more captial they can choose how to use that works best********
- for them, before any "extra" program. The whole pragmatist idea of milton friedman negative income tax is based on self interest and liquidity********
- But its about what make sense. Hard to say people need SS more in older age than poor people need 400. Be opinion. But UBi arguments stand on how extra income********
- matters. Would you not be into that to alleviate suffering of people who might never make it or even see the money they pay now?********
- I think you will end up paying for it one way or another. No social security or other welfare program for old people...well have fun living with your parentsyuekit
- for a third of your life and paying for their bills etc when they can no longer work.yuekit
- You forget that idea is a culture thing created by our programs. Is paying 8k a month for a dementia patient to shit himself and get enough medicine to prolong********
- worth it? Are you just hiding from guilt hoping someone else pays the tab? But i see you value long term for your view vs short term ppl who need it********
- You clearly don't want to pay the tab for the bills of elders. and want someone else to pay. do you think thats right?********
- is your motive more selfish than altruistic in aiming to benefit others? think you make it pretty clear on values********
- which is he crux of the social issue. do we want to finance our elders? Of course we don't want that burden and look for a magical cure all from it. however********
- that cure all has been a larger part of our healthcare costs. We get what we deserve when we try to mask our true greedy selves.********
- and that is plain irrevocable truth. no matter how you try to frame it to your worldview.********
- Not saying there is a magical solution. I'm just pointing out that in the past (and also today in much of the world since a majority of countries don't haveyuekit
- social security), there was still a lot of time and money put into taking care of old people. The community paid the price, families took care of them etc.yuekit
- Social programs are really just a way to depersonalize that process. So it's not like you get a free lunch by ending the program, you're still left with theyuekit
- same problem to deal with. And I don't think the evidence by looking at countries that lack these programs shows that people are better off -- in fact probablyyuekit
- worse off.yuekit
- A lot of "time and money" is valued differently through cultures. Some cultures embrace life and death without expensive drawn out medical help.********
- I think our particular culture in tryin to escape the burden and pacify our guilt is hoping for someone else to pickup tab and make it all last as long as possi********
- ble. to me it feels like running from the inevitable. logically should some one 80 have a million dollar hospital bill to live in a nursing home for 3 years?********
- there kids if burdened by the cost would say no and culture would be different. but if we can float it amongst others than we can have our cake and eat it too.********
- no guilt and no burden, besides visiting the dementia ridden nursing homes. This culture also has a negative effect not usual to alot of american prosperity********
- wealth is not passed down generationally anymore and is passed to corporations that keep you along enough to milk you for all you are worth. I think that will********
- significantly effect the middle class and help produce larger wealth inequality********
- I think we simply someitmes look at thing incorrectly. Much like saying bless you to a sneeze culturally as we do with social security.********
- Ignore the "promise" or rhetoric and see things for what they are. Not as we have been told to see them. Our current culture/system is hardly good for anything********
- greater. Just sold poison as cure for shit instead of really dealing with what matters honestly********
- And you saying to depersonalize i see as saying to shed responsibility...********
- Let me give you an example, I'm in Thailand right now which has no social security at all. So you might think people are saving a lot more money at work...yuekit
- But actually no, it turns out that every young person here is socially obligated to take part of their paycheck and mail it home to their parents every month.yuekit
- There's no law that enforces this, but basically if you don't do it you are considered a bad person due to culture, religion, etc. And parents get to decideyuekit
- how much of the kids' paycheck they get to take. So it's like they ended up recreating the same system anyway. Only difference is now you are stuck dealing withyuekit
- your family about money issues all the time, and you are more or less obligated to have kids, otherwise no retirement lol.yuekit
- As far as keeping people alive longer and the costs involved, I think this gets into some different issues. Such as the insane cost of health care in the US.yuekit
- So you want to unburden your self with familial guilt? That is selfish but i get it. I tell my parents you take care of yourself im have no plan on being your********
- caretaker. Many people have kids for the idea of future safety. Its culture. But see what you are saying as, well purely selfish hoping certain societal burdens********
- will be taken care of for you. Even though i tell my parents they are on their own ill take care of them best i can to an extent. And even planning my lifestyle********
- accordingly to fit downturns in without sacrifice even if it costs more upfront. im a super selfish person person planning for scenarios id prefer not to have********
- to deal with, but i dont think spreading the burden among others is a advisable goal. and i dont think the cultural aspect idea of retirement is rational********
- personally im a workaholic and maybe why i see the idea of no work a fairy tale. again the retirement aspect is a cultural myth through liberal propaghanda********
- it would be great to unburden ourselves of the idea of producing and live greatly at the expense of others, and if we ponzi scheme it to be we can all make it********
- work. reality is some people want to work and some people will have to work until death. The illusion of SS retirement is an outright lie. More so if********
- you dont count the medicare/medicaid?.. Certain collective funding helps propagate ideas on longevity and non work....********
- i think us white americans might have lost our real tribal values that say mexicans have. ( i joke all the time how they like their family for it and i dont)********
- but it makes sense western thinking is of the individual in a society of rule and law, where family and collective is survival in areas where that is not********
- and there is something funny that an individualism with all its achievements will be pulled back down to a new tribalism status quo of the state********
- not on even looking out for you small not tribes interests. but systems are funny things********
- ha i love the upvotes when i call them out. wink wink manipulators********
- but come on seriously the upvotes is full of shit. again anyone seeing this?********

'The Republican Party has a secret weapon for 2020. It’s especially effective because it’s stealthy: The Democrats seem oblivious to its power. And the GOP needn’t lift a finger for it to work. All Republicans have to do is sit back and watch 29-year-old Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez . . . exist.
- nah they just have to wait for the democrats to implode while trying to dance around the term socialism without actually embracing it because of hercolin_s
- "Subscribe to read the full story"
Too bad we'll never know what this article actually says. I blame capitalism...yuekit - no need to read it really, you can guess the rest based on the openingGnash
- I have to assume it's making fun of the Republican Party satirically for their overreaction to someone who poses no threat to the 2020 electionsmonospaced
- There's no way she's actually a secret weapon for Republicans, seeing as she's just a new junior senator with almost no bearing on the party's future.monospaced
- it's obviously working, then :)Gnash
- How so?monospaced
- Her 'green new deal' (8th grade B- Social Studies paper) seems to be a bit of a Bible to many Dems whom are running... bearing plenty of influence on the party.PonyBoy
- This article cites a paper she wrote in junior high as a reason the democrats won't win the 2020 election? That makes my case even stronger ;)monospaced
- If that's the case, it's definitely satire making fun of the Republican party.monospaced
- The paper is written at the level of an 8th grader... but unfortunately put together by actual elected DemocratsPonyBoy
- Did you read it or just relying on Trump and Fox News' interpretation? Because that sounds like the line he used...yuekit
- You guys are imagining that voters will be faced with the choice between Trump and someone else and their thought process will be... yeah but that random chickyuekit
- in Congress, she's too crazy and unrealistic... yep, I'm voting for Trump. I don't think that how it's gonna work... ;)yuekit
- I don't think I'm 'imagining' anything other than once again two shitty options to choose from of which we'll all argue over who is shittier.PonyBoy
- obviously, AOC et ilk are not going to sway any dems away from the party. It's the pubs that are are tired of orange that need to be convinced to changeGnash
- and that is why the pubs want her front and centre. to keep those fence sitters leaning right. Her squad just needs to keep keepin'onGnash
- the fact that you guys don't see that does not bode well for a regime change in 2020Gnash
- You hear more about AOC from right wing nuts complaining about her.inteliboy
- Apparently if you watch Fox News it's like 24/7 coverage of her and how bad she is lol. But it's kind of silly to think that ANY Democrat is not going to beyuekit
- demonized by Fox and other conservative media. Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama both got the same treatment in spite of being more moderate.yuekit
- Realistically I don't think you are really going to convince many Republicans (esp those who watch conservative media) to switch and vote for the Democrat.yuekit
- Trump actually has very high approval among Republicans, he just happens to have low approval overall.yuekit
- The challenge for Democrats is not to convince Republicans, it's to get their larger voting base to actually show up and vote. Which explains why Obama won twoyuekit
- times but Clinton lost. A lot of the Democrat voters, especially blacks and young people, couldn't be bothered to show up for Clinton.yuekit
- that is a losing strategy. there are just as many pub yokels that didn't bother voting last time.Gnash
- It worked for Obama two times. In both elections he got several million more votes than either Trump or Clinton did in 2016.yuekit
- obama was a great candidate, and he'd win again if he was able to run (yay for canada), The dems are nowhere near in the same boatGnash
- I'm no so optimistic that the aoc squad is helping in any way.Gnash
- I agree there are none that jump out as being as charismatic as Obama. At the same time, people are genuinely sick of Trump. The midterms showed that.yuekit
- Trump won somewhat on a fluke by being able to win Midwestern states that normally vote Dem. Almost all those states swung back to the Democrats in the midtermsyuekit
- yes, people are sick of trump, but not sick enough to coalesce around the brand that aoc projects so loudly (i'm talking about the swing votes here)Gnash
- the hoi polloi don't discern the subtleties of social reform, nor the nuance of fiscal policies. They'll be swayed by stories that speak to them, true or notGnash
- and the stories that aoc et al weave resonate perfectly with the stories trump spews out, amplifying the message to the plebsGnash
- I think there is a good way to move to the left and a bad way. Clearly some of the cultural issues can be very divisive. At the same time, one of the failuresyuekit
- of Democrats in the past is that they didn't do enough to help people in economically distressed areas, and a lot of voters abandoned them over that.yuekit
- you're right. but I don't see anything that the dems are doing now to address that failure.Gnash
- AOC is not speaking to them at all, despite the words she's using that may suggest otherwise.Gnash
- She, too, is talking to an 'elite' just not the same elite as the other guysGnash
- I still think you're focusing way too much on her. More important will be who the nominee is. Almost all Dems have some kind of proposal for enrolling peopleyuekit
- in public insurance which is very popular. Health care is the #1 concern for voters, and Republicans have basically nothing to offer on that at all.yuekit
- perhaps, i am. But the GOP is using her (successfully, i think) as a big reason to vote pub. and this helps them hide that they have nothing to offerGnash
- the msm made her a 'star', GOP are just exploiting it.Gnash
- I think what you're both forgetting is the very low voter turnout in your elections. Motivating people who don't usually vote to do so is how the dems usuallyzarkonite
- win. Note how the last mid-term had a record turnout, I think this is the key to why orangetard might not get re-elected.zarkonite
- She's on the cover on Time... A lefty rag... not from the GOP. The left can't stop putting her on TV/in print.. she's everyone's fav person right nowPonyBoy
- Agreed zarkonite, it seems almost too obvious to mention at this point but a lot of people really do hate Trump and will turn out in huge numbers to voteyuekit
- against him. Even with the strong economy his numbers are shit which is kind of amazing.yuekit
- remember that it also too obvious to mention how unlikely it was for trump to win in the first placeGnash
- Yup, and of course he could win again. Just saying if you are going to mention Ocasio-Cortez as a negative, Trump is equally extreme and unpopular and unlikeyuekit
- her, actually a candidate in the upcoming election.yuekit

- what it cost 50 million for a capt wow summary of yea hes not a russia agent, just a populist. told u that for 50 bucks********
- wonder if the Mueller report will have some explosive in it, like the - walls are the future & mexicans are the anti-christ - president standing in frontneverscared
- of reporters & camersas and begging - --asking Russia to hack Hillary Clinton's emailsneverscared
- Y’all talkin’ like you done read it already.monospaced
- Don't really need the cliffnotes to state the obvious. You remember obama birthers? That is russia collusioners.********
- Its always funny to see the defenders against one dumb media supported idea are on another one and both end up with egg on their face********
- shit should give a little perspective that the MAJORITY of people are dumb as fuck! And only benefit from gains of the 1-5% of weirdos********
- So perhaps any idea of socialism or majority voted solutions to problems are going to be dumb as fuck. and best to create an environment of little central********

- Dems wanted something to come of this joke of an investigation. FISA courts used to handle a fake dossier led to this shit—brought to poor sports (dems)PonyBoy

Learn to lose w/grace, assholes.PonyBoy - 6 guilty people, that is not losing P(h)onytank02
- Silly old poor sports: https://www.reuters.…utopian
- 6 guilty people? guilty of what? lol... process crimes?
Nothing touched trump... and what's 'Phony' about telling the truth?PonyBoy - Look @ tank lose w/grace!!
Jesus... Dems tried to say Trump and Russia stole the election... THAT was 'phony'... not some stupid 'lied to congress'...PonyBoy - ... 'Process Crimes' that may have slowed down procedure... but NOTHING to do w/Russia collusion. The entire premise of the investigation was PHONY.PonyBoy
- tank.. you and folks like yourself still hung up on this stupid 'russian collusion' PHONY BULLSHIT need to research where this dossier that sparked all...PonyBoy
- ... this bunk came from. You want to see 'phony'? Go back 2+ years to the source of the dossier and let the 'phony' flow over you like a warm blanket.PonyBoy
- And to be clear... it wasn't just Dems doing this but plenty of Never-Trump Pubs too. Folks can't stop and ask what THEY did wrong to lose...PonyBoy
- ...so they jumped on some retarded dossier that Hilla wasn't even going to TOUCH. Again-you haven't paid attention if you think 6 process crimes has...PonyBoy
- ... anything to do w/Trump and Russia.PonyBoy
- Even though your link was broken, 'topes... I found your article. Not a think linking Trump to Russia. All process crimes... the whole thing was based...PonyBoy
- ... on absolute bunk. They got Manafort for tax crimes... tried to make Cohen a star witness who turned out to be a lying tool... everything else was weak.PonyBoy
- And now I'll be lumped-in as a Trumptard simply for pointing out reality (one some of you still can't seem to handle - TRUMP WON, dipshits... now vote him out)PonyBoy

Mitch McConnell going to call for the senate to vote on the “Green New Deal. smart move
- make them own it... (which they won't)... many will run from this to avoid embarrassmentPonyBoy
- when you bring your toys to the big-kid sandboxGnash
- I wonder why AOC isn't thrilled about thisGnash
- Ah yes the grown up party...which pretends climate change is not happening at all.yuekit
- why would they run? it has no chance of passing the senate. it's just a farcical display by turtle guy.dorf
- i said, big kid, not grown-up.Gnash
- Either way cheering on the party that proposes to do absolutely nothing to fix an urgent global environmental crisis is a bit odd.yuekit
- no amount of stupid by the pubs will make green deal good. A moron is still a moron regardless of the moron sitting next to him.Gnash
- I think it has been badly misreported, particularly I'm sure by Fox and other conservative media. Most people don't seem to be aware for instance that theyuekit
- "Green New Deal" is NOT actually a piece of legislation that if passed, would put in place specific policies. It's simply a high level outline describingyuekit
- how the country could transition to renewable energy. It would be very expensive to do that of course, but scientists are also saying we haveyuekit
- about a decade to avoid the worst case scenario (and getting progressively worse after that). So who is actually a moron here? The people who at least putyuekit
- forward the beginning of a plan that matches the scale of the problem, or the people who claim the whole thing is a hoax invented by China? lol.yuekit
- you can have a plan that's not cuckoo. we have our own version here: https://leapmanifest…Gnash
- we need to shift to 100% renewable democratic energy, but putting forward a silly plan will NOT start a dialogue that MUST happen firstGnash
- at least The Leap (unfortunate name) posits it in a way that isn't so easily ridiculedGnash
- Actually that reads very similar to the Green New Deal to me.yuekit
- If there's a criticism to be had, I'm not sure I buy all this democracy and helping marginalized communities stuff. Just solve the problem FFS. However I thinkyuekit
- what these plans both get right is that it will be politically much easier to invest a lot of money to upgrade energy systems...than it would be to tryyuekit
- to dramatically restrict economic activity with carbon taxes etc.yuekit
- it only reads similarly in it's general intent. One can criticize it, but it's not presented in a way that is so easy to ridicule and dismissGnash
- and I agree 100% about investment vs taxes. Gov't just has to spend the money. period.Gnash
- also agree about the marginalized narrative. It's was added later in response to the general ideological climate here. it's a distraction and hurts it's focusGnash
- FYI here is the actual text of the "Green New Deal"
https://bit.ly/2E0Uk…yuekit - As you can see, it's really just a very brief, high level summary of what should happen. Very similar to the link you posted.yuekit
- And honestly, I'm not sure what is in there that is so bad or ridiculous. I guess you can take issue with them attempting to tack on left-wing policy goals intoyuekit
- an environmental agenda as I mentioned above. But those policies themselves are not so horrible, and the GND itself is not actual legislation anyway.yuekit
- Instead what this suggests to me is how badly U.S. right wing media can distort issues and misinform people. In this case with very serious, dire consequences.yuekit
- Oil industry money and politicians like Mitch McConnell have essentially convinced the entire conservative voter base that climate change isyuekit
- a fake issue made up by crazy liberals, possibly making action on this issue impossible. , That is a very negative development not just for the U.S. but for theyuekit
- entire world. Personally I have a hard time cheering that on or calling it "smart."yuekit
- so yuekit you dont think the GND anything different than FDR running on any bullshit he can? even id think you have no reason to try to argue its bunk as fuck********
- on face value outside economics i guess it meets the high hopes, but rationally it falls apart. as far climate change goes are you familiar with our rotational********
- eccentricities or even asked if those are part of the popular data sets which are chosen for some articles.********
- What is the margin of difference measured per year for humans vs the our changing trajectory from the sun? being that it is dynamic what is the projected margin********
- of climate change we should perceive each year as orbit changes? Also how does that effect our idea of controling climate change when we cant alter orbit...********
- so few even those involved know shit about cliamte change. look at history of prediction for proof. its all political power********
- You know, you can "poke holes" in any complicated topic from a position of total ignorance. Same as with Flat Earth, if you search enough you will find videosyuekit
- giving very technical, convincing sounding (to a non scientist) explanations about why modern physics is completely wrong is the earth is flat.yuekit
- On many other issues we are willing to defer to experts and accept their judgement, but when it comes to climate change suddenly every conservativeyuekit
- is an expert and goes against the overwhelming consensus. Don't you find that a bit strange?yuekit
- Could it have something to do with the fact that the conservative movement is deeply reliant on funding from the oil industry? For that matter, Reason which Iyuekit
- know you are a fan of, directly funded by the largest private oil company in the country.yuekit
- Sorry I just find this hard to take seriously in terms of it being a government plot when there are actual proven conflicts of interest and corruption on theyuekit
- other side. If the opposite was true --i.e. if research saying climate change was a threat was all funded by Tesla for instance -- would that not be a slightyuekit
- red flag?yuekit

Robert Reich lays it out plainly.
https://www.theguardian.com/comm…
As George Washington’s biographer, Douglas Southall Freeman, explained, the first president believed he had been entrusted with something of immense intrinsic worth, and that his duty was to uphold it for its own sake and over the long term. He led by moral example.
Few of our subsequent presidents have come close to the example Washington set, but none to date has been as far from that standard as Trump.
