1. launch a set of faked bad news on jobs' health, wait a couple of days for major blogs to catch up. wait some more for newspapers to catch up, they reprint the blogs and make it look smarter.
2. buy apple stocks at a very low price
3. wait for ipad 2 to come out
4. sell the stocks at a very high price
5. ???
6. profit!- I think #5 is go to vegas or brasil and do what needs to be done.capn_ron

I hope this will stay true
"Apple performed very well during Jobs' last leave of absence, as its stock price rose nearly 60% during the six months that Cook oversaw the day-to-day operations of the company"

I wonder how much the shares would go up if Jobs told everyone each time he gets laid.
"Last night was an incredible night. I got home and this incredible gorgeous chick... i think you can guess what happened next so, spare you the details. But OS eX was astounding! The most incredible sex game changing sex ever." Huge cheers
The company's shares shot up 4.5 percent on the news, Reuters reported.

Who will replace Steve?

Jobs croaks.. Apple is dead in the water. Just watch. The whole inflated market capitalization goes ka-boom.
People can think someone else can continue running Apple as successfully as Jobs..but there is only 1, ruthless, selfish, arrogant, control-freak like Jobs.. those people at Apple were scared as shit of him.. there is no one else who can do that..
What will most likely happen is that we will see some bureaucrat come in and bury the company into the ground with complete lack of vision just like they did in early 90s.

Let's be honest here...when Mr. Jobs passes away Apple will have their best quarter ever, with all the TV specials, memorials and wall to wall coverage. It will be like when Michael Jackson died, only more so.
After that, it's anyone's guess. Because no one has a really good idea how much Steve Jobs actually matters to the company. Tim Cook is credited with a lot of Apple's turnaround with an operations point of view, so I wouldn't guess bureaucracy to be their downfall. Ives comes up with the actual product designs.
The most valuable thing Jobs did for the company, besides provide a public face, was his overall strategy of pursuing a media/entertainment approach instead of trying to compete head to head with Microsoft. In terms of everything else, it kind of remains to be seen.

all you have to see is that Apple's stock fell almost 10% at the news.. And he's still CEO.. what do you think will happen once he's gone permanently (whether it's smelling the roses from below or just leaving Apple completely). Apple is going to be in trouble.
Apple had good people back in early 90s.. But people seem to forget.. investors and board of directors is who has the last word.. and they will bring a CEO who will do business.
No Johnathan Ive, or Cook, or anyone at Apple has the vision for the company. There is only 1 Jobs man.. There is only one person who can look at the whole picture and make tough decisions and follow through and don't give a shit what board of directors says or what anyone says.. Jobs had his picture in head and new how to screw customers out of their money and have them beg for more never feeling used. He had that vision where he has master plan and then he executes in pieces never losing focus of the final goal.
I mean.. there aren't a lot of people like that out there.. That's why they needed him back.. Apple wouldn't exist if it wasn't for Jobs.. and even though he did bring some talented people, but not one of them individually or even when put together can't match Steve Jobs' ruthless, control-like attitude and vision.. He is a master salesmen, a control freak, an arrogant perfectionist, an unbelievable spinner, and a ruthless dictator leader..
No, I don't see anyone replacing him and I don't see Apple continuing to be on top like it is now.. I think it's fair to say that Apple most likely won't go bankrupt but once Jobs leaves, Apple will lose all of it's steam and spotlight it has now. It's really all thanks to him.

I think he's lost his way. I wonder if Apple will be better off without him in the long run.

I will just say.. it might not be a bad thing.. I would like to see more open Apple.. maintaining all the beautiful design features and quality of their products but being more consumer friendly and allowing more platforms to work with them..
This is Apple I would fully support.

You don't know that though...it could be that Jobs is the irreplaceable center of it all, or he could be playing that up for marketing purposes.
Everyone sees what they want to see, basically
