the problem with bitcoin right now is digital storage. Where can it be safe to put your coins? Thats the issue as I see it. The only really secure way are printed wallets which are a pain in the ass. If some sort of private digital wallet would exist (I know there's people working on this) then nobody would get screwed with theft or site owners disappearing.
- Electrum is a private wallet that you can cold storage your coins offline on your computer. Works well.xcreonx
