First impartial grade rating of popular cryptocurrencies by the biggest independent financial evaluator, Weiss.
Ratings are graded from A to F – will be based on four criteria:
- Risk Index, to offer an insight of the downside
- Reward Index, that looks at the potential reward
- Technology Index, that looks at the underlying source code and how robust, flexible and scalable it is
- Fundamentals Index, which is about its use real-world scenarios.- they took it down

- must like other stocks, it depends some on ones age too. higher risk when starting out, and then try something more stable later. or not and just say fuck all!jaylarson

50 Cent "forgot" he accepted bitcoin as payment for his 2014 album "Animal Ambition." The bitcoins are now worth more than $7.4 million
- no. way.Gnash
- Thats ridiculous. Good for him.R_Kercz
- that is a greatfadein11
- Haha, nice..********
- Seems like a shit deal for an album at the time, no? I’d figure a guy like that would want to get paid for his release, and wouldn’t just forget about it.monospaced
- ^ i believe it was for CD sales -- people could buy them with bitcoinsGnash
- Isn’t he on a label? Wouldn’t he just get paid? Anyway, I’m purely speculating. I don’t know shit about what actually happened.monospaced
- Good for him, if anyone needed the money it's this guy lol
https://youtu.be/GeL…yuekit - Mono, a small percentage of people paid for their album with bitcoins....********
- And those bitcoins went straight to 50 cent, not the vendor selling the albums? I just haven’t heard of a major artist getting paid directly like that.monospaced
- Artists do direct releases all the time mono. Radiohead being one example. Not much money in releasing music nowfadein11
- Unless some pop bag of wank but still its reversed now, release music to tour not tour a releasefadein11
- cool, good to hear that artists are now getting 100% of sales, not the typical small cutmonospaced
- That's pretty fucking amazing. I like the wrap up – "he got rich and didn't die trying"DaveO

Just a warning for people using Coinbase...
Coinbase generally gets a good reputation as an easy way to get started within the crypto market. However the reality is that if you ever run into any issues with them, it's basically impossible to get a response.
I opened a ticket with them in early December and after saying they would fix it they basically stopped responding and now won't answer emails at all. And apparently this is completely normal based on the threads in this forum...
- Looks like they respond on reddit...********
- Most of the issues are by people who have lost patience, which is understandable, but most transactions go through.... Eventually********
- They respond randomly if someone complains loudly enough. But actual support tickets get sent to a queue that is apparently months long.yuekit
- Set is right, they do get back to you eventually (or did me). They clearly didn't have the infrastructure in place for the upsurge in users recently. Which isfadein11
- kind of understandable if no excuse.fadein11
- Set, you were right about the whole SEPA/withdraw process as well, a little painful in the end :)fadein11
- Yeah I'm not saying don't use them. Just be careful. As is often stated. if you have serious money invested don't trust a website. Use a hardware wallet.yuekit
- Hardware wallet sounds very insecure.monospaced
- Nothing is perfect, but hardware wallet to my knowledge has never been hacked. Exchanges have been hacked and you are at the mercy of their customer service.yuekit
- https://hackernoon.c…yuekit
- Specialized storage devices for cryptocurrency are a thing now, pretty cool actually.
https://www.ledgerwa…yuekit - https://trezor.io/
The key thing being that you can restore access if the hardware device is lost by remembering a string of words.yuekit - $89.99 haha. That's robbery.********
- Hardware wallets can be hacked by tinkering with their voltage. https://m.youtube.co…monNom
- Looks like they respond on reddit...

Bit of a clickbait headline but he speaks some sense in the article.
The 19-year-old who made his fortune in bitcoin says if you don't become a millionaire in the next 10 years, it's your own fault
- isn't your main interest as someone with a lot of btc convincing others to buy so your value goes up?scarabin
- Dnt focus on the headline scar, other interesting stuff in there, like dntbpanic sell etcfadein11
- what scarabin saidmonospaced
- the moment you buy this non-currency you're basically obligated to become a cheerleader for it just to keep up the illusion of valuescarabin
- Teen-flavoured survivorship bias is the most blinkered type of bias. Good luck to him, but this ain't gospel.detritus
- Its like religion. The only way for it to work is to have massive people believing it will work.pango
- Do they? I certainly keep my mouth shut about it.inteliboy
- Same could have been said about the dot com boom and more recently Apple, google, amazon, Netflix...weed stocks etc_niko
- There’s always something new. Also, The pump and dump schemes never end_niko
- interesting points but I'm same as inteliboy, since investing in ether I haven't cheerleaded/spoke about it to anyone really apart from a close friend.fadein11
- Scarabin, does your very vocal anti-bitcoin stance come from the jealousy of not making a fortune with it, like so many have?********
- I'm having difficulty understanding.********
- That was probably the least sophisticated analysis of crypto I've ever read. "It was up, but then it went down, so buy now, before it goes up again"monNom
- He's only young but okay I shouldn't have bothered sharing it lol. I guess it was more about the young lad getting rich than anything else.fadein11
- although that point does pretty much sum it up. i.e. Bitcoin and crypto has been written off many times beforefadein11
- I'd suggest that if you're not a millionaire in the next 10 years, it's on your own fault, regardless of bitcoin or this little cunt, no?********
- The wonder of the internet and social media is that literally anyone can make a lot of money doing what they're good at, if they figure out the right approach********
- set, making more USD with it wouldn't change the fact that bitcoin failed at what it set out to doscarabin
- i'm pro-crypto, believe me. nothing i'd love more than the cyberpunk fantasy of de-seating major financial institutionsscarabin
- but even you saw that bitcoin failed, or you'd still have yoursscarabin
- It hasn't failed yet, it's only just beginning. I just withdrew a vast amount of money that I basically forgot about. It has nothing to do with it failing....********
- riiiight.
anyway, the fact that you have "difficulty understanding" the situation beyond the concept of making money with it just illustrates my stancescarabin - I don't have difficulty understanding the situation further than making money in any way at all.********
- I only even commenting on taking money from it because you said "even you saw that bitcoin failed, or you'd still have yours"********
- Which is completely untrue. I just decided I could use that money. I'm sorry you misunderstood..********
- Bitcoin is paving the way (IS being the operative word) for a decentralised cryptocurrency to overtake fiat currency.********
- That is still happening and is in early stages, still. Again, I'm sorry you misunderstood.********
- bitcoin started something important it unfortunately will never finish. that is my stance. not sure how i can make that any clearer.scarabin

Prrossibly worth a scan-through for anyone invested in IOTA....
- I guess the whole point of IOTA is that it's an interesting and experimental technology in beta stages. It's a gamble. Then again, they all are.********

Facebook bans all ads for cryptocurrencies, ICOs and binary options
- hahamonospaced
- That’s actually going to have a significant impact on trader joe douchebags in the market.lvl_13
- Anything Facebook bans is worth investigating and potentially getting involved in as far as I'm concerned********
- I suspect FB is either threatened by blockchain or plans to launch an ICO of their ownSlashPeckham
- or maybe they don't condone the kind of advertising that might put their customers at such incredible financial risk?monospaced
- Like they give a flying fuck about that mono, lol.********

India Just Caused the Price of Bitcoin to Slide Again
The Indian government is to ban the use of Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies for payments, finance minister Arun Jaitley has announced, kicking Bitcoin’s already-sliding value further down the slope.

Litecoin is officially at the price I bought. $139
Should I get out?- LTC shows $143 now. you can xchange it with bitcoin now and sell btc once it recovers a bit and buy more LTC. If btc keeps falling you'll have losses tho.Beeswax

Hold me, guys

- Go read some news articles. They always end with some smart guy in Wall Street still predicting Bitcoin @ 100k this year.HijoDMaite
- damn. 100K.Gnash
- lol. yeah it's brutal. but follows a pattern perfectly. I'd say we're due for 5k... then a boring dead run until we rally up to 100k.inteliboy
- i was hoping that the Binance listing of Nano today was going to pull my numbers around but the number has shot up and accounts don't have access to the Pair ytMrAbominable
- So what happens when it hits 100k? Everyone is going to be selling like crazy right. What then for bitcoin?Hayzilla
- 100K? How could anyone justify that valuation except to point at pure demand?monospaced
- In order for it to get to 100k, you need buyers to not sell at 15k, 50k, 75k, etc, and additional buyers willing to buy in at those prices. Not gonna happen.shapesalad
- It might slowly retrace back to 20k mark, soon as it does, those who bought in upwards of 15k will sell up, bringing another drop...shapesalad
- after two drops, confidence gone, excitement gone, hype gone, hard to see it getting past 10k. folks will move onto the next hype'd coin...shapesalad
- I'm down from 14k to 6k. Started with 750$Calderone2000
- I may well be wrong, but I think BC itself is done - congrats to all those who sold around the peak a month or so ago - you're the smart ones.detritus
- Once the hypegasm's died down we can start to get some use out of blockchain, which I truly believe has 'a' future–i'm just not smart enough to know 'what' yet.detritus
- All I hope is that all the greedy corporate / finance pushers get stung.detritus
- Sold mine at around 20k per bitcoin, guises should of listened to me, when I said sell.utopian
- I agree, Detritus. Seems likely, but who knows...********
- was the selloff a month ago "smart" or just lucky? it's not like anyone knew exactly at what point it peaked, except for those who massively sold in bulkmonospaced
- I got lucky. Put in 40K, when BC was at 4K per coin. Sold it at 17K, then spent 10% to buy bunch of random, less known currencies, while cashing out the rest.NJ_KL
- lol. I've lost quite a lot, as have most, but still can't help but find it all rather amusing

Ethereum and Litecoin are droping hard too at the moment. Thats what I invested in :(
But I dont stress, I invested less than 500$ and I'm ready to wait.

http://money.cnn.com…zaq - at any point were you making profit? If so, why didn't you pocket them?monospaced
- of course he was making profit, it doubled in 4 weeks. people aren't doing ti for fun mono.fadein11
- ether that is.fadein11
- nice way to respond to only one half of my question ... I asked why he didn’t pocket the profits, not if he profited.monospaced
- It’s not obvious he profited at any point. I’d say he is down based on the frowns face and, well, it’s Bennn. ;)monospaced
- I think he invested similar time to me so no way he is down, it's still way up. But okay I get your point. Not sure holding ether is a good idea thoughfadein11
