Any input or opinions on chord plugins?
There are cheaper options like Scaler, Scaler 2. Magic Chords & Pro, as well as Instachord. There are more expensive options such as Captain Chords, Hookpad, etc.
Of course, all of them have ups and downs be it functionality or price, to me only a few of them seem to stand out.
I like the simplicity and ease of Magic Chords Pro, I choose a progression, export to midi, then edit in the DAW. I also like the depth and intricacy of Hookpad as well as Chord Prism
Hookpad is smart but pricey, the depth of information provided almost leans into teaching, not just creating, which is great. It seems like a powerful tool for those with their own understanding of music theory.
Chord Prism used to be Autotheory, it does some pretty powerful stuff (lets you hit any key while keeping the melody in key by forcing hit notes to nearby notes to remain in key.)
The more i type, the more I think I'm talking myself into Chord Prism, but I'd like to see what anyone else has to say.

I didn't know you can run the Dirtywave M8 headless. Basically run it on a Teeensy (or Rasberry Pi) using your computer for the screen + controls. Anyone try this yet?
Instructions:
https://github.com/DirtyWave/M8D…- Haven't yet but had ideas to create a pcb hat for this and realized of course someone had beat me to punch! but he is apprehensive about openly sharing pcb fileprophetone
- Here's his project: https://github.com/i…prophetone
- If this thing could get down to a size and form factor close to the TE Pocket Operator series it would sell like hot cakesprophetone
- Nice one. That seems all over my head though, but I figure I'll try a basic build to test drive the workflow.koma_

Man been so slammed with work the past month or so, and then freelance gig which took my weekends I have barely had any time to make music. The slim window I had was having to rework some older songs I did to fit some video projects I was delivering.. so less production and just adjustmen.
Won’t be much better for a minute .. but end of April going away for 3 nights for a BEATRETREAT with 3 homies of mine.. no kids, no partners.. just machines, beer, lemon haze and win
I can’t fucking wait
- Nice! Remember the pics from your last beatretreat.mort_
- What is lemon haze?shapesalad

1.
I bought Chord Prism. It is very powerful and allows you to sketch ideas, then quickly export MIDI to further edit patterns.2.
Now I wonder if anyone here uses Serum... Did you buy it or are you making monthly payments until you own it? I've been ignoring it for years, but it always seems to be getting more attention than Massive.https://splice.com/plugins/15493…
3.
AI mastering anyone? I've used LandR occasionally over the last ~6ish years. I've just found CloudBounce. Appears to be the same type of product. Currently, lifetime access to desktop is $99. It's probably good enough for my needs, but thought to share it here if it interests other users.- I've owned Serum since it dropped. It's really great. The wavetable creation tool is so awesome if you invest time in it.section_014
- You can export the wavetables too. I've imported mine into a E352 eurorack module, for instance.section_014
- that's pretty neat, just saw this vid on creating custom wavetables, thanks! https://www.youtube.…imbecile

Nicely put together promo piece about the Roland SP's role in lo-fi hip-hop.
- Finally received my MKII in the mail 5 months after I ordered it. So fun!letterhead
- Heard there’s a bit of a steep learning curve with them?mort_
- Maybe no more than with any other sampler / sequencer.mort_

OK, so, sold a couple of artworks at the weekend and splurged the £ on an MPC Live 2 Retro.
- Sweet. I have a regular black one arriving in next few days. Will probably regret not going retro more than you regret spending an extra 100 ;)mort_
- <^dope! sooo tempted to pull the triggerfuturefood
- Looking at cases / bags for it. The Magma CTRL one looks a bit overly spacious.mort_
- Arrived today. The retro is a thing of beauty! I've always wanted a 2000/XL for the retro look but I think this has satisfied that 'want'.microkorg
- https://i.imgur.com/…microkorg
- I'd have been happy with a black one too but I got this retro for a good deal, plus SSD + decksavermicrokorg
- Don't think i'll need a bag at the moment, happy with decksaver. Frustrated though that the flightcase I have is just Millimetresmicrokorg
- too small to fit the Live2 and My SC1000 Scratch side by side.microkorg
- That's a beauty!mort_
- Mine arrived too. The built-in speakers are surprisingly workable!mort_
- The speaker and battery are the reason I got this over the One. can just pick it up and play it anywhere, not worry about battery/power/wiresmicrokorg
- Its what i loved about the OP-1. Something I used much more than any other gear ive ever owned. So hopefully the same for the Live2 :)microkorg
- Yeah same. One idea / plan is to make samples and loops with the modular and outboard synths and arrange them into tunes away from the PC using the MPC.mort_
- I tend to just have endless jams with the modular so this is an attempt to reign it in and in a way capture building blocks for tunes.mort_
- sounds like a good planmicrokorg
- lodef3
- BTW all the vocal type sounds are synthesized. the female voice and breath.lodef
- Love it. That bass line is mean as shit. :)mort_
- ya mean haha >:]lodef
- nice stuff man. I hate the word funky, but jesus this epitomises funk aesthetics to meIanbolton
- thx. its funk alright. i was trying to figure out ways to make it less funky and more dancy actually.lodef
