- Oh man I wish I hadn’t seen this... one of those magical demo vids that just activates all that synth GAS lol. I think I really need it in my life.prophetone
- Nice raw and edgy sound.mort_

Bought my 3 year old a wee keyboard for Christmas, which she finally got to play with last night. Currently at the kitchen table post-breakfast with her playing away on it.
I appreciate this is waaay beneath the pay grade of you lot invested in this thread, but I am seriously impressed by how good this thing sounds for what is essentially a kid's toy. Shit's come a long way since I last used a self-contained keyboard at school...
- Almost bought this one but opted for a Casio in the same price range.oey_oey
- TheCasio SA-46, by any chance? if so, that was the other contender :) I just wanted something polyphonic.Nairn
- omg what have you done? only three years old and already on the slippery slope of bankruptcy from kit addiction?hans_glib
- It looks like an app, design has come full circle!nb
- I mean design has come full rounded corner rectanglenb
- waiting to own the teenage engineering setup, brodoesnotexist
- I got the Casio for my son last year, and it broke within a couple of weeks. I think I'll look into this as a replacement.monospaced
- lol @doesnot. That kid will find out about TE and start the long beg.garbage
- Great choice! I got myself a Summit last year but am still considering the PSS-A50 (same series) for fun. $80, fewer sounds than yours but an arpeggiator.spl33nidoru
- NICE :)
both my kids started learning piano and keys around the age of 5exador1 - They're 18 and 15 now, and still to this day play atleast an hour or 2 a day, just for fun...
there's nothing quite like listening to your kids playing someexador1 - 70's keyboard/piano rock, or playing some original composition... i absolutely love it :)
nice to have a house filled with great music :)exador1 - haha, this blew up! I'm sure 3 is far too young, but I wanted her to have something 'useful' to learn to fuck around with and to demistify the processNairn
- @ex1 - how did you teach your kids at that age? I don't play piano myself, but would like to learn alongside her to help her along, when the time comesNairn
- exactly Nairnoey_oey
- Xmas gift was a drum set...she's two and she loves it.oey_oey
- I have to play guitar and she the drums and then she sings "Just Like Heaven" from The Cure...I mean sort of. She loves that song.oey_oey
- Me and her Mum, played it together during pregnancy among other songs but it seems that this one stucked.oey_oey
- Today we performed for my parents via video chat.oey_oey
- I have the Casio equivalent of that for my boys. They usually just turn on the demo music and crank it at full blast. They also pulled off all the black keys.nocomply
- ^ LOL!oey_oey

- nice! get it!!
one of the best sounding synths I've heard.
Getting a prophet 6 at some point this year.futurefood - Lovely - they share a lot of functionality. Will you go for the module or keyboard version?mort_
- Not getting along with the Peak? That thing's been on my short list forever. I love all the demos I've heard.section_014
- The Peak is great and very versatile. But the unhinged analog grit of the OB-6 has me smitten. It's mostly a tonal preference.mort_
- @mort the keyboard version. used prices here aren't that different between the twofuturefood
- section_014, also look into the Summit as well, it's often referred to as 2 Peaks but the combination results in something better than that.spl33nidoru
- and I hope you get it soon mort_ ! OB-6s sound and look dreamyspl33nidoru
- Will report back, hopefully soon!mort_
- nice! get it!!

- Oooof wow nice one, very coolprophetone
- Wow. That’s class! Enjoy.mort_
- wow a proper rarity, looks in great nick - what was the damage?hans_glib
- oh, ok it's the digital version, my bad.hans_glib
- It’s 4000D, but it has wooden keys like the original haha

I released a grimy beat EP. Primarily Maschine 3 for sampling, sequencing and a couple hardware synths - Arturia MiniBrute and a MicroKorg. Hope you like!

I’ve been slowly developing a modular rig over the past year or so. Finally starting to resemble the spaceship that I’d like it to be.
- Cool! How do you like the Desmodus Versio? Been on my wishlist for a while now. I have the Erbe Verb which I love but would like both.mort_
- Some other nice gears too!microkorg
- nice work.. some fun modules there. Been looking at the 4ms pingable lfo for a minute.autoflavour
- The bay verb! All the noise engineering stuff is great.epic_rim
- Bat verb (auto correct)epic_rim
- I love everthing about the concept of eurorack but the goddamn cables in the fucking way all the time just seems like a deal killer for meepigraph
- how has this not been solved yet? Seems like a dedicated patchbay module, a label maker and cables routed inside the case would take care of it.epigraph
- I kind of like the chaos of it!mort_

man I need to get into the studio more.
I sit in here all day, but its work.. and it kills me.- Feel this man. I moved house in December and still trying to get back into the swing of thingsIanbolton

After a few months quiet, I had to cop a new module..
Fortunately was able to flip a few modules to pay for it..

USD$399 each? hmmmprophetone - did microkorg have the big one (black box)? i've watched a few videos of it and hard to tell if i'd use it, looked a bit fiddly and these even more sokingsteven
- I have the Bitbox. It’s decent but pretty basic in functionality.mort_
- Man these look sweet! Yes I had the black-box but don't anymore. Well built box and wouldn't hesitate to recommend anything 1010 make.microkorg
- The BB was a featurepacked sampler and sequencer but fell short as a mpc style beatmaking tool for me. Also not enough effects to replace a DAW.microkorg

Maybe old news but is anyone using Koala App for sampling fun?
A mate got it a few months back. He doesn't have a background in musicmaking but is a huge hiphophead. He'd been harping on at me to get it too so we could collab on beats. Downloaded it and ended up getting an akai mpd218 (again!) to use the pads rather than touchscreen.
Havent delved too deeply in yet but seems pretty capable little beatmaker without too much thinking or menu diving or technical know-how.- Not Koala but I have this and it’s pretty fun, capable: https://www.youtube.…prophetone
- I know very little about this stuff, but I was just looking into Koala. Trying to find the simplest beat making app I can use on my phone. Looks pretty good.nocomply
- yes, koala is a must have app. very SP, but arguably better in terms of speed & workflowletterhead

Saw this on a music video Gardener posted. Anyone seen or used one before?
- autoflavour0
- Hard call based on that all my cases were full and I had no space for more casesautoflavour
- $750 modules feel grownup thoautoflavour
- All Verbos case... you’re worth it!mort_
- You joke, but I had to hold myself back from picking up the voltage multistage today.. shit is addictiveautoflavour
- I feel ya!mort_

Finished mixing a record that i really don't like at the weekend for a friend. Been listening for 3 weeks to MOR electro pop, some reference tracks for the mixes and nothing else (out of fear perspective would make it more depressing).
Now going to catch up on 3 weeks of yuekit posts and go back to mixing my band's record i've been on for 5 fucking years...
In between i've popped out a remix under an anon moniker in 5 hours for an old friend who contacted me out of the blue after 10 years... Slowed it down by 40bpm and added some brass and strings and recorded some bass reminiscent of Will Smith's Wild Wild West at 33rpm. I forgot that even if you end up completely mangling a tune in to something new, pop remixes are so much more fun and so much easier than making my usual pretentious shite :D

Self patching mixers to use as an instrument looks fun.
- Used to have a spirit mixer was great for this... you should check out matrix mixers, same idea but you use pedals for the active electronics.kingsteven
- That sounds interesting, thx!mort_
