- Oh it's an incredible album. One of my all time favorites. Love theme... So so goodcruddlebub
- I know you will dig this
https://archive.org/…futurefood - like the film releases, there are so many different versions of the soundtrack. I had a 3 disc set on CD which was dope!futurefood
- ...but I realize that 3CD set is not even full release. The Archive . org link above has a lot of tracks collected. so good!futurefood

- I missed that! How do i not have Blade Runner soundtrack on vinyl? hahafuturefood

I just picked up a new pair of Yamaha HS5 studio monitors for my workstation. I record music as a hobby and was using a pair (very decent btw) of Bose Companion desktop speakers. The difference in sound between the two is incredible - it makes me look at the speakers when listening to them. Listening to my home recordings on them reveals so many more nuances that I had missed before. Treat Yo Self!
- Was lucky to of been handed a pair of the same speakers from my dad. He wasn't using them! Make a huge difference when critically listening.cruddlebub
- congrats.. have a pair of HS8's .. was super happy with them until I got a single Genelec 8030a as a B monitor and I realised how much Yamaha's color the mix.autoflavour
- every monitor has a sound, and the Yamahas are definitely solid choice.. just know your low ends are not as accurate as they appearautoflavour
- having lots of different monitoring situations is the only way around this.. keep the Bose and have them as a A/B setup.. a good grotbox is always helpful alsoautoflavour
- I normally mix with headphones, playback over the speakers when I'm fully happycruddlebub
- Thanks, auto. I did a lot of research and in the end the Yamahas were the right choice. Watched a ton of Sanjay C vids on YT - he does great reviewsstoplying
- A monitor upgrade can be an amazing thing when you hear sounds that weren’t there before.mort_
- autoflavour3
- gah, I just impulse purchased this.. a mixture of splitting over 6 months and memories of the waiting list on the original push tripped me upautoflavour
- It’s def a decent deal maybe... curated sounds are good bit my first reaction was this has GOTTA be able to load my own dope sample library, it doesprophetone
- I see this as something you can keep on your coffee table and grab at night while chilling in living room and get inspiration, like a notepadprophetone
- like 58 gig free space or somethingautoflavour
- yeah that’s plenty of room for rave stabsprophetone
- I am not sure exactly where this will fit in my work flow.. am a little miffed it can only sync via Ableton Link.. kind of lameautoflavour
- tiny part of me is hoping it maybe sparks some interest with my kid.. she has been at me the last few days spending more time in the studio with herautoflavour
- Seen this! Looks really interesting.cruddlebub
- Interested to know if MOVE can chop beats across pads.microkorg

Some nice updates in Ableton 12.1
Drum Sampler seems really cool for when you don't need a whole drum rack. i.e. kick / snare on different tracks.
Looking forward to trying the updated limiter too - less distortion.

finally got news my 4 year waitlist is over..
this is shipped
- it’s beautiful and seriously you could score a SILENT HILL game with just this apparently... +1 haunted basement!prophetone
- I remember you first posting this here. Looks incredible.mort_
- yeah took them 6 weeks from telling me my spot was next for production to them finishing it.. glacially slow.. but hey, im not complainingautoflavour
- Uh oh... What's this little sucker!cruddlebub
- Omgcruddlebub
- oh wow that is a lovely thing indeedhans_glib
- Wow, enjoy this when it comes! I got an email from the guy the other week asking if I still wanted one as had registered interest when first announcedmicrokorg
- sadly couldnt justify buying onemicrokorg
- had no idea what the email was about, had to go google the instrument name haha. but remembered when i saw it.microkorg
- This could cause some new musics by Brian Eno and Richard D James .Krassy
- OMG, I want one.Nairn
- Bit spenny but I'm very interested. This paired with the torso S-4 Could be mental to play with.cruddlebub

also an update..
so I cancelled my Ableton Move order in disgust..FUCKING BLATENT FALSE ADVERTISING..
The whole split it over 6 months bullshit, checked my visa last night and it was $50 away from being over drawn because the processing company basically puts a hold on the FULL AMOUNT as security that you can pay.. like what the fuck point is that.. If I wanted to max out my credit card and pay extra interested I would have fucking purchased that thing outright.
contacted support and got the most form letter response, so they clearly knew this would blow up on them.
for real, left a very bad taste in my mouth.. I used to love ableton.. but this and knowing a couple of people inside and hearing the horror stories about how they treat their staff, yep, for shame.
- to be fair, kind of dodged a bullet tho, this Fjaerlett order came in today and would have been crushed money wise if I had to pay for bothautoflavour
- dangprophetone
- They do tend to go into auto-response mode when there's a big release to manage the spike in inquiries.mort_
- yeah but still, I literally made it very clear I wanted to cancel my order and then I had to email again confirming. like FUCK OFFautoflavour
- and it wasnt just a normal form response, it was totally crafted to appease people who were pissed..autoflavour
- Yikes! That's a bit dodge! Good job you checked.cruddlebub

First lot of vocals done. She did a great job! Didn’t have time to do mine tonight. Soon we record me and then produce away. Hopefully finish this song in a month.
Vocally 2:20 is my favourite thing she did because it’s imperfect.
- Awesome so far. She has a great voicecruddlebub
- It has taken on a different form than I expected though.ephix
- Very nice. Has a kind of 90s feel to it. Tricky, Portishead vibes.mort_
- Be interesting to see where you take it nextcruddlebub
- Thanks!ephix
- @ephix generally if I am happy with a piece of my art in any medium, it has been this way. a goal at the start is important but art goes where it flows.epigraph
- She can hit some notes! Can't wait to hear her voice more in the mix next round. Keep us posted!canoe
- @mort - more trickycanoe
- Nice stuff ephixstoplying
- Thanks guys, this mix was just done late on the same night so we could listen in the car. the vocals definitely need to be mixed and compressed etc.ephix
- Will eventually get it mastered too because a friend is a popular masterer. I've heard it reminds someone of Massive Attack too hahaephix
- cruddlebub2
- that S4 tho.. have lust, just no time to learn and use .. already have a studio full of things I am yet to learn properly..autoflavour
- If you want to get one, I'd wait until all functionality is up and running as three of the main function keys haven't been "enabled" yet...cruddlebub
- It's still incredibly fun, makes sounds I've never heard a machine make before, granted you have to make it make those sounds... I love itcruddlebub
- ephix1
Cruddlebub what’s that?
- Other than being a poor attempt at an upload... That's two of my machines. The torso s-4 and the dirty wave m8.cruddlebub
- mantrakid3
A musician i really admire (Rephazer) put out an album made entirely with a P-6. I recently picked one of them up so it was very inspiring to hear what he could make with it!
- ephix5
I'm still to use my op1 to its full potential.
- hahah - i love mine dearlymantrakid
- ephix i know the pain.. it sits there asking to be touched..autoflavour
- "thats what she said"autoflavour
- Love my OP1! Never use it :(letterhead
- Got one on my desk. I still don't know what it’s for..futurefood
- yeah, I am so tempted to sell it, again.. but i feel like in 6 months time I will just buy a third one.. so just saving myself the timeautoflavour
- Send one my way if you like!cruddlebub
- autoflavour1
Subharmonicon arrived yesterday .. serious noodle machine, yet to decide whether its actually useful
but sounds fun- I can imagine it paired with the s-4. Ultimate hyper sci-fi ambient sounds.cruddlebub
