Listen to REGRESSION... by COSMSTRUCT. on #SoundCloud
https://on.soundcloud.com/NKRiYNew track...
- Super sick man nice work. Love the beat -- is the reverb on the drums coming from the m8?mantrakid
- There are two separate beats, one full beat track, and another 4 bar beat on a separate track, on the s-4. Nothings been added post S-4...cruddlebub
- All sound manipulation is recorded live into the m8cruddlebub
- The separate beat (4 bar) has the heavy reverb/delay. The full beat is clean and devoid of any overlaying effect. I wanted to try and separate them...cruddlebub
- Which you've noticed! Hahacruddlebub
- prophetone3
- I mean now next logical step is buying everything ALM, Buchla and boutique to fill out my 104hp 12u custom-built ostrich leather rack case I have to get made?prophetone
- ostrich leather lolfuturefood
- these guys make some cool stuff
https://www.instagra…futurefood - nice and def cha ching!prophetone
- some other used local fbmp modules I’m considering: erica sample drum, akemies taiko, maths, buchla 258t dual oscprophetone
- Ooofcruddlebub
- Eurocrack!mort_
- ^ yep, you're lost nowhans_glib
- its all downhill from here.autoflavour
- Yeah day 3... bought used akemies, maths, buchla dual osc... lolprophetone
- Make sure you get a Plaits. Such a killer module. After Later Audio do really nice clones. https://afterlaterau…mort_
- was literally just about to say, After Later Audioautoflavour
- and then put your name down for an Amalgamod case
https://www.amalgamo…autoflavour - Haha well part of the cade strategy is one that has extra room like a 9u 82hp... so as not to go nuts (and broke) trying to fill it!prophetone
- @auroflavour my prob is yes get the expected modules like murables, some alm, intellijel... but i’m peeping the weird n expensive ones too like ERD/WORM WORM/MOONprophetone
- Now that’s a rabbit hole, build the weirdest system with only insane handmade koo koo modules that have no labels or seemingly logic at all, but are 2 kewlprophetone
- I’ve been toying with idea of designing maybe a teensy pcb that can be engine for a selection of crazy diy modules like erd’s - split up osc, drums, filter, etcprophetone
- Some exist i think on github alreadyprophetone
- @mort yes ala or clones of plaits and clouds and rings on list, the usual suspects i guessprophetone
- ALM Cizzle is sounding awesome too, love itprophetone
- imbecile2
- Look mum, no computer.... He's a lunatic!!! Haha he has made some crazy stuff!!cruddlebub

this is fucking doing my head in..
so im barely on Facebook, and every few months I have to log in for some reason or another ..
anyway, just logged in and noticed I was tagged in a post on a Sydney Rave History group .. click thru and a person who I have no connection to at all is trying to ID a Dj mixtape that I made in 1993 .. of which there was literally like 100 copies made of and I was sold in like 2 stores in Sydney.keeping in mind, I was like 17 at the time, still in high school and this tape was literally my first ever public release of anything.. way before I made music, just a sloppy rave mix tape. also not to mention I was really only ever an aspiring dj, and once I worked out all the money I was spending on vinyl I could spend on drum machines etc, I pretty much stopped all together.
needless to say this was utterly obscure..
so yep, to then 31 years later have someone trying to find info about it.. doing my head in .. like I dont think I even have a copy of it still..
- actually, 16 years old..
just did the mathsautoflavour - also, for those wondering, I was tagged because an old friend of mine from that time recognised the tape
he would be like 1 of maybe 4 people who wouldautoflavour - That's absolutely wildcruddlebub
- Crazy. I once got a call out the blue from someone asking about my music. Guy was manager of a bar/gig venue and had found a demo CD I'd made and sent...microkorg
- to the venue about 10 years before. He said he'd been listening to it on repeat and wanted to find out more about the music so called the no. on the cover.microkorg
- That’s awesome. Why is it doing your head in?mort_
- What a story, this is great. Get your tape back, digitize it throw it up somewhere and share it with the world!_niko
- That’s so fucking awesome.monospaced
- Very coolstoplying
- mort its doing my head in as over the years I have made/released a bunch of things for public consumption, either in physical media or digitally, but this byautoflavour
- far is the MOST obscure of them all.. of the 100 made i would say literally like 20 of them were sold, i literally threw out a box full of them a year agoautoflavour
- after finding them stored under the house.
like I ran a label in sydney and we produced about 15k of CD's over various releases, that wouldnt spin me out..autoflavour - but this super obscure tape, professionally duplicated but hand made covers.. this is some utterly obscure shitautoflavour
- and yep, already looking on marketplace to find a cassette deck to dub a digital copy.. 1993 will be relived againautoflavour
- just hope I kept a copy of the tape.. buried somewhere in a box somewhereautoflavour
- That's nuts. Hope you find a copy. I wonder if you contacted the girl on Facebook, could something be worked out. Offer a digital copy for a loan of the tape.mort_
- yeah i shot her a message.. she is seeking to digitise.autoflavour
- actually, 16 years old..

What the...
- HAL90012
- Hahaha that's my step bro jack!cruddlebub
- He told me about the j-6, which I own, and also told me about the teenage engineering koii before they were announced! I bought one of them too.. he's my pushercruddlebub
- hahah thats so awesome - i love his attitude when it comes to this stuff! hes so genuine!mantrakid
- He is! Genuinely doesn't do any research before they film, so his reactions are real. He's a session pianist and also tours with big "pop" groups...cruddlebub
- He also has his own label with some big "pop" names on board. But to meet him, you'd have no idea. Very DTEcruddlebub

- That Roland row! *chef’s kissmort_
- yeah thats a recent addition, always had the mixer and then just started collecting them.autoflavour
- to be fair, this is a scaled back version.. for a minute there it was pushing $20k worth of a modules, had whole rows of Instruo and Verbos.autoflavour
- and a complete second Intelljel Performance case. it was getting kind of out hand, so I just scaled back.autoflavour
- Ooooofff! one is popping out for me, basically I love the Metropolis/x sequencing... would be great to have for both modular AND my samplers, drum machinesprophetone
- But the more and more I see that RYK M185 in action, it’s simplified toggled approach, no flash just live toggle sequencing, the more I want itprophetone
- I’m gonna keep things at maybe 2-2.5 rows worth of thatprophetone
- Those QU-Bit modules seem great too, interesting possibilitiesprophetone
- Yeah I had the metropolis and sold it when I got the ryk.. to be fair I mostly use it to vary the melodicer tho. It’s definitely funautoflavour
- Qubit data bender and nautilus are amazing but are super dense. Still definitely learning them both. I usually prefer surface level modules ..autoflavour
- Where it’s super clear what they do and how. Once you have to menu dive using cryptic iconography it becomes tedious a bit.. short attentions spans etcautoflavour
- autoflavour4
- and even that is missing a bunchautoflavour
- Geeeeezz haha wowprophetone
- Woahcruddlebub
- modular is a helluva drughans_glib
- yeah, but can you play Wonderwall?Ianbolton
- Looks like an amazing set up thoughIanbolton
- Reason?woowahesque
- Also this was mid cycle, there were a bunch of verbos I had sold by then and other modules. You churn pretty hard at firstautoflavour
- Less is definitely more sometimes. I stripped out most of the actual oscillation parts and just left effects and sequencersautoflavour
- mantrakid3
dropped a new chunky beat.
- autoflavour2
- like being the elektron fuccboi i am will eventually cop anyway, but still..autoflavour
- Got a few of their boxes incl OTII and this looks like a drums + keyed synth setup and prob a sampler to boot but prob Digitakt level sample features?prophetone
- I will say this if they re-released the original Machinedrum and Monomachine boxes I'd be flipping through hoops like a lunatic dolphinprophetone
- But I agree just stick to OT width even if spaced out a bit or squeeze into Digitakt/tone/takt box widthprophetone
- lol we know nothing yet really and already complaining about itprophetone
- i know that aesthetic is not what makes a good synth, but so much about elektron has always been they are so strong on the design aspect and uniformity..autoflavour
- cant imagine they are touching sampling at the moment tho with the recent digitakt II release..autoflavour
- just been over on elektronauts forum, someone pointed out in the bottom image one of the buttons had changed from SAMPLE to EDITOR in the top images.autoflavour
- Maybe the length of two of these equals a OT & DT size together. Maybe it's their way to upsell to those who keep to keep aesthetic to their setupmicrokorg
- Who named it, IKEA?mort_
- ephix0
Yo @mantrakid, it has been delayed but we are doing pre-record (my bro, the drummer and me) on 13/10 to finalise everything and then Dianne and Jude will come on 16/10 to record the main vocals and final choir part. Can't fucking wait man.
- ephix1
Another song in the works: https://on.soundcloud.com/LnvTQc…

Got my nephew coming to be part of the choir too. He’s more of a rapper and music producer but will be good to have him involved.
- ephix0
Actually it’s 6 songs now. Fuck me.
