Melodics × Native Instruments
Let’s play some pads.Pad drumming, or cue point drumming, has become an essential tool for DJs, producers, beat makers and musicians — in the studio and on stage.
Melodics is an app that adapts to your abilities and musical tastes to help you get better at pad drumming, faster.

Who's into guitar pedals? Been playing my guitar more and collecting some. Think this is my next obsession.

Also getting a lot of use out of Yognac Software "ToneStack" for iPad. Great as an effects processor with iPad in a FocusRite iTrack dock.

This one also cool

guttered, i had to just pull my studio apart again as we had to move flat..
it takes so damn long to get it all back together.. last time it was well over a month before it started to be back to normal.. so many cabling setups and midi chains that i complete forget and have to relearn each time..
on the upside had a nice session in there with my homie one last time before it all got ripped down.. and as we dont have internet up there, we were forced to just use the synths and drum machines..
you forget how much quicker it is to write music when your just playing shit in and cutting it up..
- i treat everything like a session, nothing permanently patched. everything goes back to its shelf/ cupboard/ corner. i roll patch cables in my dreams :-|kingsteven
- nah, i love that i can sit down and instantly start noodling with the flip of a few switches.. its the midi routing that gets me everytime.. so many cascadingautoflavour
- midi chains, both in and out ..autoflavour

Selling my sherman filterbank 2 if anyone gives a shit :)
- always lusted, but they are pretty wild and untameableautoflavour
- It is difficult to tame. Good for wild distortion but not good for the type of music I want to create now.sublocked

So ELEKTRON pulled the plug on the MachineDrum and Monomachine.
Looking forward to seeing what may potentially take their place.
With the A4 and RYTM using overbridge, i'd imagine what is coming will do so too.
Wonder what's going to happen with the Octatrack though as it'll be getting left behind.

Sooooooooooo good. I love this guy. The little subtle modular piece at around 11min mark. So Orbital, so awesome.

The history of electronic music from 1800 to 2015
came across this today, you beat makers might enjoy it:)

Been crazy gassing over modular recently after watching a video about how you can use the CV out from the AnalogFour.
Really fancy a few of the Bastl Instruments Grandpa's and have FX like Clouds and Roland's Bitrazer as effects. Use a matrix mixer to route the A4 and modules through the effects.
Talking up around about a grand though for a couple of granular samplers and some FX.
Worth it?
Is modular REALLY a rabbit hole I want to peek down?
I've already signed up to modular.net and been sketching ......
Someone please persuade me to stop before I even start.
;)
- modulargrid even.microkorg
- been loving messing with CV lately.. but just between the Juno, TT303 and 101.. not sure i have the bank account for modular thoautoflavour
- dont have the bank account either. the good thing is the modules are small so wife won't notice the little parcels arriving ;)microkorg
- Just buy reaktor and use that :p ...see if you actually do.sublocked
- I do have reaktor but i dont spend much time in front of computer music making as i spend all working days in front of screen.microkorg
- Don't overlook Doepfer. Very affordable, built well, and sounds just as good as everything else. I've had a modular for 6 years., fwiw.section_014
