- kingsteven1
- very nice. id like a pair of these too. have had a listen and they sound great. seemingly easy on the ears even after hours n hoursmicrokorg
- Do you have a sub too? I had some 6" back in the day, but the low end wasn't there (granted, they weren't Adams).section_014
- yes.autoflavour
- the bass response is fantastic. smaller enclosures than my previous, so just amazed by the bass coming out of them ATM...kingsteven
- i noticed a wee bit of port chuffing when i cranked them yesterday, i think if i was running them hotter i would maybe get a sub to prevent that.kingsteven

Just a bit inspired by the fantastic music on Stranger Things over the weekend. Not fully mixed, but I do like NOT reaching for my guitar all the time and just sticking with synth stuff.

How was this project not already on my radar?! I missed out on the MB-808 pcb runs so this has my fullllll bloody attention.
- Hmmm seems unofficially like a $650usd price tag fully assembled... hopefully they do a pcb-only option and you BOM it out urselfprophetone
- I would pay $100-150 for a pcb of an 808 clone, the mb-808 project went down in flames unfortunatelyprophetone
- Hmmmm I wonder if Yocto is selling pcbs...prophetone
- i had the yocto site bookmarked for a fucking age waiting for the next batch to show. always missed by a day!kingsteven
- I love this, i think the acidlab drumatix still tops it for me ath this price (mix of 808 and 606 sounds and sequencer)kingsteven

Anyone interested in purchasing some half-priced Native Instruments expansions? I am trimming down my studio, selling unused expansions...
I'm selling the 3 of these for $125 if anyone is interested.
I would release the serials from my account before selling, which I have done before.
1. Studio Drummer - $149

Well it doesn't have a beat but I made a new little track using the lush Prism soft synth by NI and a recording of my backyard with the internal laptop mic:

My current setup consists of the following - Macbook Pro
Logic Pro X
Apogee Duet interface
MIDI controller
Guitar effects, amps, guitars, etc.
Monitors and regular speakers and headphonesGoing to acquire: at least one or two analog synths, and a bass guitar. Will get a DI box for the bass guitar.
What I want to do: I want to have everything set up so that I can run hardware synths and guitars into the effects chain, without having to unplug anything, and with a single stereo feed running into the Duet and thus into the computer.
Even better, I really want to have the pedals set up with some kind of bypass I can route sound either to amps, or straight into the computer bypassing the amps. Amps would be mic'd; there are times I'd want to go straight in and use amp simulations.
Should I be looking at a mixer to accomplish all of this? Other options? I've been recording on a much more minimal setup for a while, hoping someone can explain how to scale this up and deal with more analog instruments for ease of use. Thanks.
Would love it if someone could suggest a good approach, sketch something out, etc. Thanks fellas.
- #patchbayimbecile
- patchbay is definitely a good startautoflavour
- this is why I have a computer and a controller... too much time spent fiddling with kit and not making any tracks!fadein11
- no, i have only recently rediscovered how much quicker it is to write music when you are just fucking around on hardware.. its so much quickerautoflavour
- it came from when we didnt have internet for a week, and i was left with only the synths to make noises with.. so much done in such a short period. hardware winautoflavour
- yep I know what you mean about the physical tweaking but I mean about being too obsessed with the kit and set up than actually making music.fadein11
- fadein11 is correct, I know, because I'm guilty of gear hunting... wanting those 80s / 90s pieces I couldn't afford back thenprophetone
- Good news is now these things can be cheap if you play your cards right... I am still fussing around setting things up thoprophetone
- ...instead of just making music. Butttttt... I am a major 90s music nerd so it's a sh*t ton o fun to tinker with hardware samplers and synthsprophetone
- But I feel like it's out of my system, I have the samplers I wanted, I have a vintage Moog and drum machines...prophetone
- Only prob now is getting it all cabled and midi'd up and tight, organized, so I can mess about finally with ease and push stuff out. So many cables!!prophetone
- i find the only way to do it is to get a patchbay a shite load of TRS cables and re wire every session...track it, take it down, set up again for dubbing/ mix.kingsteven
- sounds like you could do with a reamping box for the guitar amps... i usually record guitar before and after fx through an amp sim and reamp later if needed.kingsteven
- Thanks everyone for the tips!mg33

Thud Rumble's Invader Mixer Prototype Unveiled
https://www.engadget.com/2016/08…I'm a bit of a battle mixer nerd so this is pretty exciting stuff.
- Cool stuff. Pretty hefty size thoughmicrokorg
- Reportedly going to be an inch or two thick like a controller with pop down legs...prophetone
- I love the idea of this if only to remove the ridiculous laptop from the scenario, takes it a step back to what things were while advancing tech, is coolprophetone
- autoflavour0
Not really secrets, but cool to know anyway ..
