on a bit of roll.. managed to pick up a Virus TI for 650 euro the other day with shipping..
today one was listed for 950 on Berlin craigslist.
tempted by the Moog Sub 37 ..
Really want a RE201 Space Echo tho..
- I won't deny the awesomeness of the RE201, but holy crap the prices. Last time I checked they were like $700-800.section_014
- ooooohhh space echoooo... do it!prophetone
- yeah, pretty steep price wise.. but the lust has been long on it..autoflavour
- cheaper that the new elektron...prophetone
- *thanprophetone
- Yes! I want a space echo too.
What do you think of the T-Rex replicator?futurefood
- kingsteven0
- £679, bit steep tho! you can pick up a second hand A4 for £850 these days...kingsteven
- sounds real nice... https://www.elektron…kingsteven
- Great concept, but for $750, I don't know. Hard sell against a TTA happy ending based eurorack.section_014
- Bit disappointed with this tbh from elektron. Spend the cash on plugin filters and a beatstep1 for hands on control.microkorg
- http://m.imgur.com/a… Much prefer the fake mockup I did :pmicrokorg
- why cant they make a simple fucking midi controller that works with the Octatrack..
i would buy thatautoflavour - Plugin filters can't compare with analog, imo.section_014
- ^ a lot of people claim this but would probably not be able to in a blind test I reckon.microkorg

- next week I will visit Five G in tokyo also.. massive lady bonerautoflavour
- although it always bugs me, so many things they sell, you cant even pick up on the day.. its a weird system.. you buy something, and 2 months later its readyautoflavour
- it's a pretty small shop but it's crammed full of stuff. i'd assume their stock of modern gear is either ordered to order or sat in a warehouse somewhere.microkorg
- guys are super friendly in there. spent over an hour noodling around. wife wasn't to impressed ;)microkorg
- yeah i gotta work a way to ditch 2 kids and frau .. but hey, Shinjuku ..autoflavour
- plenty to do around the area in harajuku.
go to the restaurant on the 3rd floor (theres a few of them) go to one thats on the right as you exit the lift....microkorg - ... AMAZING fried chicken!microkorg

after so much oscillating .. between Moog sub37, Elektron Rytm and OP-1 .. i decided spontaneously to buy the OP-1 ..
Amazon.de have them online new for 636euro .. retail is 936 ..
just hope it gets here before tuesday.
Prime should do it
- Good for mobile beatmaking but restricted in what u can do with it. Need to be well organised to make finished songs on it as no undo and lots of bouncing-down.microkorg
- I sold mine about a month ago with the view of getting a RYTM :Pmicrokorg
- yeah i never really thought of it as a finished song kind of thing, more for sketches and for good starts..autoflavour
- its great for sketching and creating completely random stuff you'd never be able to create elsewhere :)microkorg
- thats what i want.. something quick and quirky to spit out random goodnessautoflavour
- autoflavour0
- have fun. the op-1 is a great long-haul flight companion. enjoy tokyo! I wish i;d stayed there and not come home!microkorg

- really kinda fancying the 03 and 09 but should really just save my money. i have plugins that are just as capable. look like hands on fun thomicrokorg
- ^ same - so tempted but the plugins I have are great. I am not sure it would help workflow / productivity either as would just end up playing with them.fadein11

Watched this video review of the Roland TR-09 and TB-03 by GuitarGuitar in Glasgow.
Video features a guy from Roland alongside one of the guys who used to be in Scottish hardcore techno band Ultrasonic.
Found this one of the most interesting videos showcasing this gear cos the ultrasonic guy knows his stuff and is asking the kind of questions that I'd be asking if I was with this Roland guy.
Pretty funny banter too ....

Nice work environment.
- real nice idea with the computer on a movable desk! genius!microkorg
- such a nice, bright hardware tastic studio. maybe one of the best episodes.prophetone
- when he moved his desk i was like 'sayyy whaaaaat?!'prophetone
- all those synths... but that desk!kingsteven
- mate of mine has the same mixer as this, neotek elan. 2 great desks :-Dkingsteven

Anyone on here fuck with MAX/MSP? I installed the trial (fully unlocked for 30 days) over the weekend. I was getting fed up with midi routing roadblocks in Logic, and started looking at Ableton again...which led me to MAX.
I gotta say, I'm blown away by it. I always avoided it because I didn't want to do a bunch of autechre music. And frankly, because I didn't see the appeal of being so low level. But, it's a great environment for building midi tools, and relatively easy to come to grips with.
I solved my Logic program almost immediately, and also started in on some custom sequencers. I got it working with my launchpad easy too. I might have to retire Numerology in favor of my own sequencers.
That said, I realize it's not for everyone. I have lots of years of programming experience, and have already built some custom sequencers (software and hardware). So, I'm probably primed a bit better than most. But, anyone with technical skills and some patience could hop into it, I'm sure. Especially if you're tired of being brick-walled by Logic and whatever else for midi.
- it's fantastic. used it for years but not enough to warrant the upgrade price when i switched to intel. often think about getting in to abelton just for M4L tookingsteven
- Yeah, a full license is as much as Ableton almost. I'm gonna give it 30 days and decide then.section_014

- What did you get in Japan? Did you like FiveG? And did you go for fried chicken one floor down? ;)microkorg
- .. and that's some fuckin haul of gear you have now. nice! now get on and make some music ;)microkorg
- great choiceskingsteven
- I got the SH2, Spaceecho, SL20, MS20mini and SQ1.. Didnt get any of it from Five G tho.. its amazing, but so expensive. echigoyamusic in Shibuya is the ticketautoflavour
- and the space echo i actually got off ebay and had it delivered to the Ryokan before we arrived. much cheaper and looks basically new.autoflavour
- a bit crushed tho, was in SOFTBANK in Akihabara and there was a juno106 for 22,000yen as it had a few faulty buttons.. i walked outside to use the internet..autoflavour
- went back 5 minutes later and in that moment, someone else got it.. so stupid.. $250 for a Juno 106.. i should have just got it on the spotautoflavour
- the next cheapest Juno 106 i found was 85000 yenautoflavour
- but yep, it was haul based on purge.. i sold a virus c, virus snow, waldorf blofeld, mixers and a bunch of midi controllers and other studio gear..autoflavour
- it'd be great to go out and buy in bulk like that :) sad news about the Juno. Wish i'd went to echigoyamusic too. It was on the list but jst had too much to domicrokorg
- you can also.. just sell everything except a few pieces and start from scratch..autoflavour
- also I already have a Juno 6.. it was more just that it was $250 and i have a friend who repairs synths and said it would cost about $20 to repairautoflavour
