Listed a bunch of unused gear and box fresh sneakers today in preparation to welcome a sub37.. then if by magic, one came up $300 cheaper than usual ..
Going to look in the morning.. but new hardware acquisition is imminent..

- i am a spaniel now btw.kingsteven
- honestly the microfreak is incredible, the 2.0 firmware that came out last week is insane (but still hate the touch keyboard)kingsteven
- What's the Fender amp that's on top?boobs
- It's a 70's Bassman 135... just had it set up to use as my main bass rig (with a Musicman 2x12" cab). The original Fender 2x15" stays in the garage.kingsteven
- Great clean tone on guitar too and does break up when you crank it, but i never had it past 2 on the master volume when i was gigging with it!kingsteven
- good to see your dog is driving things.autoflavour

- yeah, i read on FACT mag that techno spaniels are the new female bassists and went in for the full sprinngerplasty the next day, no ragats.kingsteven

- I don't get the appeal of hardware compressors. Is it the sound when you hit them hard?section_014

Any of you use the programs from Slate + Ash? Just had these pop up in an ad on Facebook and the interface design really grabbed me.
- heh, facebook got me with that cycles ad earlier too. sounds impressive but i have a million max/msp patches and ipad apps that do that already.kingsteven
- I've got a Roll Seaboard and would love more applications that allow MPE to work with them.mg33

Took the better part of the day to recable and clean up, but did a shuffle of all the keys .. needed a bit of planning, but it works.. realized I needed to have the analogkeys on the lower tier so it can be programmed easier.. . Took so long as I also had my 5 year old Juno in there the whole time wanting to play with everything..
Now just to find some time to make some music..
Maybe this weekend- The analogkeys is the master cv for both the sh101 and sh2, and the clock for the juno6autoflavour

Added a second story to the modular. Started to get too many modules on the shelf, so I figured I'd get another case for them. Not sure how I feel about the cases stacked vs. side-by-side yet.
Picked up a Synthesis Tech E352 and Quadrax to go with it. Really liking the E352. Sorry for the potato quality image. I smashed the lens on my phone camera accidentally.
- so cool, i'd personally go side-to-side, so is closer to face, less reaching... translation: closer so I can read text, avoid throwing my back #signsyergetnoldprophetone

- the rabbit hole.. one day I will fall, but at the moment I have enough headaches with fixed architecture..autoflavour

discovered a couple of things over the weekend.. most importantly using the Sub37 as the controller for the Slimphatty means all the knobs on the Sub37 send and match the controllers which are usually buried in menus on the Slimphatty..
so awesome.after a good 2 days of maintenance in the studio, I repatched and reworked a few of the setups.. so everything is back to working as it should..
also finally found a boutique TB-03, so I decided to finally get around to setting up a sub mixer for the TR-09, TR-08, SH01A and the TB-03 so they are all now setup, powered and connected via midi..
then yesterday, I think I managed to fix a broken Machinedrum that I have had on my desk for 6 months.. the internal battery needed to be desoldered and replaced.. removing it, meant it would boot up (once) and I picked up the replacement battery today.. so fingers crossed, fixing it..
should actually make some music soon.. but it just drives me nuts when things are not totally right..
close tho..
so close- nothing exciting.. just thought I would shareautoflavour
- thats why i switched to setting up and stripping down just what gear i need when i need it. you shouldn't feel like an engineer in your own studio.kingsteven
- its half the fun.. that said, i am a bit of nerd when it comes to hardware.. love knowing how things can talk to each other..autoflavour
- setup tonight had the Analog4 cv driving the SH2, with audio signal going to the Moog Murf clocked to Ableton, then into the Moog Ring Mod, with frequencyautoflavour
- controlled by the TT303 .. signal finally going through the RE201 space echo..
sure you can do that with software.. but where is the fun?autoflavour - yeah man, i know... i just prefer the approach of doing it on the fly. loads of clear workspace and grab a synth as you need it... takes less effort in the longkingsteven
- run and makes for more creative possibilities. as soon as i have something in place i need to move it or switch round ins/outs or it becomes an ornamentkingsteven
- patchbays are your friends..autoflavour
- everything in the studio is always plugged in, and can be routed anywhere from one central point. so much quicker.autoflavour
- its like sitting inside a giant modular synth.. also, I wouldn't know where to store all this stuff if it wasn't setup..autoflavour
- I am just a Reason guy, but I feel you :)adrok

we finally managed to get a new piece together, as part of a fundraiser for the best radio station in the world, resonance fm (also available thru t'interwebz).
it's a fabulously happy upbeat ditty, but it's not beats, just saying.

Ableton was just the clock, nothing else..
