I find that the standard Apple headphones are the best for working out. Only because they are really light, flimsy and dont hurt the ear while you are moving about and doing your work out thing. True, sound isnt the greatest, but you are working out -- looking for perfect treble and bass shouldnt be much of a concern.
As for work headphones, I use these Bose OE. I have them for about 6 years now. Perfect sound and dont hurt my ears during long periods of usage. They fold up nicely, so its great for travel.
- Apple Ear Buds don't fit my ears properly. Sound like doo-doo too.mg33

if your concern is sound fidelity, stay away from bose. You can find better options from trusted brands at less cost :)Miguex - brands at a better price. :)Miguex
- I agree. Bose sound is so fucking weird. Pleasing, very pleasing, but faaar from accuratemonospaced

these are great. Big headphones are ok but become annoying after awhile. Apple's headphones suck you have to crank the volume really loud to hear anything - but the Bose IE2 are the best I have ever had. More than you want to pay maybe, but really comfortable and you can hear really well. I turned my volume way way down once I got them - and I sometimes forget they are in.

i just did some research regarding new phones, so i paste it here: the best ones i ever had were named quart. they had brilliant sound - i guess it would be called »flat« sound - like most unaltered? anyway they disappeared from the market, but respawned as maestro - manufactured by the original mb quart staff. http://www.german-maestro.de/EN/…
they will definetly be my next purchase - i could always recommend them. used them on a daily basis for many (about 12) years. most durable and comfortable. make sure not to buy phones with the old quart brand - those are chinese rip-offs. check the background story: http://wiki.faust3d.com/wiki//in…

I've never been big into earbuds, but these are the most comfortable pair I've ever used. I can wear them for hours at a time.
- I had these but the little buds and the wires are not built well. Mine fell apart within a year.monospaced
- sounded great though!monospaced

- also good isolation for price too.
not enough for using for DJing though23kon - I can back this up. I bought them strictly because they look cool - and was happily surprised that they sound decent too.jtb26
- I have these too. Good sound, cheap, and noise canceling (without electronic, really cups your ears well, and limits outside sound.)inhaler97

Can anyone recommend some?
I'm looking for 2 sets and don't really know where to start.
Varying budget, but not cheap. One that I can wear all day, preferably portable with a case. I'm freelancing and moving from office to office so portability, noise reduction/cancellation & comfort are important.
The second pair are for working out. I used to use the 'inner ear' ones but they irritate my ears.
So these have to be practical & portable.Cheers
