Bang for buck, i don't feel Jays can be beat: https://www.jaysheadphones.com/h…

I've recently got the m-Six Wireless for myself for running, cycling, etc.

AND the m-Seven True Wireless for my wife for iPad Pro'ing, walking, etc.

I got them on Black Friday (50% off / a steal), BUT the price normally isn't too bad and quality good, bordering on great.

I've NOT tried their larger offerings, BUT am tempted.

    • headphones for cycling? NO!OBBTKN
    • ^ @OBBTKN; just for really long rides. I hug right and take safety precautions always.

I also ride in the country, NOT in the city brother.

      : )

    • ok then... Qbn safety comitee aproved ;)OBBTKN
    • Just got these for snowboarding. Greatly built, fits well. However I wish they had more bass. Also notice reception is poor when my phone on left pocketzaq

went and ordered a pair of Blon BL3 in ears based on the video microkorg posted last week and i'm really impressed.

they are worn over the ear (with a stiffened end to the cable)... I've tried the 'sports' type clip on in-ears before and i have a couple of pairs (Etymotic Research and Senheiser) that rely on the rubber gasket to hold the earphone in your ear canal (which i hate wearing while walking and find irritating to wear more than an hour a day)... this is a nice compromise.

the only issue i've had with them so far is that they have a very flat frequency response and i'm used to quite exaggerated bass from in ears - but I thats not really a bad thing... pretty incredible for £35

    • Jesus its hard to take a photo of your own ear... this is how they look on...

    • Great to hear you are impressed. I'm going to grab myself a set as cant go wrong for the money.microkorg
    • and a flat response is perfect for reference for music making too. I've read you'll get better sound from them if you get aftermarket memory foam eartips.microkorg
    • and for extra comfort you can get aftermarket cable for like £17-25. It does make total up over £50 but still worth it i read.microkorg
    • IEM enthusiasts reckon the sound of these is that of something 5x the price or more!microkorg
    • I like that guys reviews and i'm thinking of grabbing a set of the ThieAudio Voyager 3 that he rates highest in the $100-200 range.microkorg
    • Did you get yours from Linsoul on Amazon? So many awesome looking affordable IEM's!microkorg
    • Just from a private seller on eBay, he seems to be sold out now. The one complaint I see about these is that the tips that come with them aren't that great...kingsteven
    • it comes with 6 sizes, working my way through them but think i'll try some different shapes to see what works well with my ears before considering an upgrade...kingsteven

I finally decided to get into the noise canceling headphone game with the Sony 1000X M3, and now that I have, I couldn't be happier. These cans are simply amazing, and I can honestly report that in just one week they've increased my productivity and focus at work significantly. The touch controls are NOT gimmicky. They are natural and useful, because who the hell wants to talk to siri or pick up a phone to change tracks or volume? This is awesome.

I chose the Sony over the obvious choices for a few reasons. One is that I despise the Bose sound signature, but I respect their dominance in the market of noise canceling and comfort. Hate to say it Bose, but Sony is the new king!

These headphones are so comfortable, I might even say they could be the most comfortable over ear headphones on the market ... period. They are more comfortable than the famous Bose QuietComfort line.

They also sound amazing. They remind me of the sound from my classic Sony over ear headphones that you see in recording studios. No, they aren't recording quality ffs, they're bluetooth, and they're tuned for outdoor use (more bass). But they sound a fuck ton better than Bose, that's for sure.

And then there's noise canceling. They win, hands down. Bose is beat. Done. And the app that comes with them is sick. You can actually adjust the type of noise canceling, and customize the pressure and sound to your freakin' ear!

I put these on and disappear for hours, only stopping to work to eat. I couldn't do that easily before.

Yes, I officially recommend the Sony 1000X M3.

    • Agreed with your opinion of Bose's sound. It's kind of fucking awful.Continuity
    • I was on the fence about going with Sony, thanks for the review.zarkonite
    • Not worried about Bluetooth beaming down your ears, through soft tissue to your brain? That's one of the things putting me off bluetooth.microkorg
    • If that worries you, then you should be aware that there’s a huge ball of fire raining deadly radiation down on us guaranteed to kill if you get too much of it.monospaced
    • And have you heard of WiFi? It’s fucking EVERYWHERE! It’s in your head all the time. Phone in your pocket? You’ll NEVER have kids. You’re sterile already.monospaced
    • You’ve probably got hundreds of WiFi, am fm, Bluetooth and over air cable signals passing through you every second of every day.monospaced
    • Yeah I think these will be my next ones after the Bose that I've had for almost 5 years finally give out.ben_

I was given a pair of these (Bose Noise Cancelling 700) for Christmas:

They're OK, though they're nothing I would have bought on my own; I'm much more of a Sennheiser guy.

    • Barely anything from the outside world leaks through, so NC is very good;

    • They're not all that great on the bottom end, they're much more pronounced in the mids, and everything sounds a bit tinny;

    • They're fucking heavy, and tend to simply fall off when you're horizontal (bench pressing at the gym, for example).

    • Also:
The touch controls are fucking fiddly and inaccurate. Yuck.
      Continuity
    • I bought these AND the Sonys, and I returned these. The Sonys killed them in every category besides maybe physical design appeal. Maybemonospaced

    And Beyer dynamic DT-990

    Sennheiser HD-25

I'm still using my AKG K171 MK II

I bought them many years ago, they sound great. Only con would be that they're crushing your head a lil too much... its painful after 1 or 2 hours.

  • robotinc0

I have a pair of the Bose 35II and I really like them.

Anyone own any of these in-ear headphones mentioned in the comment of this guys review video?

My Bose QC20's audio wire is frayed and almost about to give up. I plan on keeping them though as can still use the noise cancelling feature to create a bubble of quiet for long haul journeys when I want to sleep. IMO the Bose Noise Cancelling is the best on the market. The sound on them isnt that brilliant though - not for Bose.

Got myself a set of Soundcore Liberty 2 Pros based on the brilliant reviews they get but not gelling with that kind of weight in my ears. My right ear in particular isnt a fan of them. Also been thinking that I don't want bluetooth beaming down my ears for hours a day so want to go wired.

This guys reviews seem pretty spot on. He's not hyping stuff just telling it like it is.

There's some real budget ones there that he's claiming kick ass against phones of higher price band.

    • I just got the Sony 1000X M3. So good.monospaced
    • +1 mono. I was a strong Bose advocate till trying these out, Much better anc, and sound in general.ben_
    • i might try some of these cheapo ones, have a pair of senheiser in-ears and they've never clicked with me. wires don't bother me at all.kingsteven
  • Projectile0

If you want noise cancelling, these are the absolute shit!!!

If they're too bassy for ya, you can use the app to tell the "Extra bass" button to actually reduce the bass.

Only con is that they really are huge

    • Scratch this! They just broke after a couple of months of desk-only use!!!Projectile

    Sennheiser HD600

Bernie Grundman, mastering engineer on Michael Jackson’s ‘Thriller’ album: “General consensus among our engineers is that the Sennheiser HD600($400, sennheiser.com) is the least hyped, most accurate and pleasing to listen to, especially with an aftermarket cable and proper amp. It’s not the most expensive pair by a long shot, either. Speakers are nearly always superior to headphones for working with audio, but, the HD600 is my best bet.”

    Audio Technica M50xs
https://images-na.ssl-images-ama… Tumay, engineer on Childish Gambino’s Grammy-winning ‘This is America’: “I stick to my pair of Audio Technica M50xs($149, audio-technica.com) for casual listening. I can walk the dog and check mixes at the same time and still have a reliable reference. In studio, I have my Audeze LCDX [pair], and recently, I copped these insane in-ears from 64audio. Both really help you get lost in a different world and create your own room wherever you are while being detailed enough.”

    Focal Clear

Emily Lazar, first woman to win Best Engineered Album Grammy for Beck’s ‘Colors’: “I favor HiFi brands because I get so much more of the intimate information, less distortion and a more enjoyable experience. While working, I like the Focal Clear($1,500, focal.com) and the Grado PS 2000e. But I have the most fun listening to vinyl on a vintage pair of Stax electrostatic ear speakers paired with their amp—I especially like that the brand doesn’t actually call them headphones.”

    • HD650's are awesome, but they're open back. Basically, the opposite of noise cancelling.section_014

Well, I'm a cheapskate at heart and although I really like those AIAIAIs, I wound up getting the Status Audio CB-1 for $63 after reading the reviews on Amazon, which made them sound almost too good to be true.

    https://www.amazon.com/Status-Au…

I'm no audiophile and I have never owned a pair of expensive headphones in my life, so to me they sound pretty darn awesome. Great texture and clarity both on the low end and high end. People say the mids are a weakness with these headphones, but I thought they were fine.

I did a comparison with my old $16 headphones and the difference was immediate and clear.

I bought them because many people said they are super comfortable, and thus far they have been.

But they're a little bulky because of all the padding. They're also made entirely of plastic, which means they may not stand up to the abuse of travel. But I only plan on using them in my home office and in bed. So for me the compromise there is fine. And if they do break after a while, it's not like I invested big bucks.

Anyway, that's my story. Thanks for reading.

    • Also features a removable cable coming out of only 1 side, which was a feature I really wanted.nocomply
    • nice... and don't worry about the plasticmonospaced
    • Just a note for anyone reading this. Closing in on 2 years with these headphones and they're great. Use them at my desk almost daily. Super comfy. Great sound.nocomply

Been thinking about these Jabra Elite Active 65t. Wireless. Have good battery life and reputedly good sound with noise cancelling tech.

Most important for me, they supposedly have great mics that neutralize background noise using 4 different mics. I hate how my Bose buds pick up EVERY bit of background noise anywhere I am.

    Anybody try these yet?

    • Well I bought them and they're great! mic works way better than any headphones I've had. still not perfect, but much better.sarahfailin
    • I got a set of these. Overall, the experience is best described as "unrefined." They have serious connection issues and shit for smartsmonospaced

The cheapskate in me wants the refurbished Audio Technica M20x for only $42.50. https://www.amazon.com/Audio-Tec…

But the "I love quality craftsmanship" part of me wants a custom pair of the AIAIAIs for more like $150-200.

I feel like anything in the middle would just be disappointment. Damn.

    Nuraphone update :

I have received my pair this monday. And I am quite confused. They sound really good, it's a kind of magic.

But, unfortunately they are uncomfortable as f**ck for me...
After a few minutes it starts to be painful and I have to remove them. The customer service told me that it can be a question of time, that the silicone tips can soften after a few days, and the pain will dissapear. It happen sometime for some people.

No luck it's for me :'( Anyway I can still try them until the 27th of September and if it's still not ok, I can send them back (30 days of trial)

    • Which problem does this design solve?shapesalad
    • Bass dildo?

Do you get sore ears after using normal silicone in-ear earphones? I remember I did upon starting a new pair once.

Looking for athletic, wireless options right now to pair with a watch (possibly Apple Watch) for running, cycling, etc.

Tired of having my phone and just want audio and statistics/direction(s).

I have some Jays right now, which sound fantastic and are reasonably priced; they have a wireless version of the same:

    https://www.jaysheadphones.com/p…

I've looked at various options, but live in the middle of nowhere and am kind of "going in blind" as they say.

What do you headphone connoisseur's recommend for something on/over ear that's:

    * Comfortable (most importantly)
    * Durable
    * Has good sound quality (doesn't have to be amazing, just better than average)
    * Good for using at my desk or in bed
    * Bluetooth is not important (in fact, might prefer non-bluetooth)
    * Budget: $50-100 preferred, $150 absolute max

    Thank you in advance!

I picked up the Bose QC35's about 2 weeks ago. So far, they've been great with just a few little nitpick issues. Im happy with the purchase.

Back in 2004 Aphex Twin stated that he recorded and mastered tracks from Syro on Sony 7510's. They retail for about £100.

    • I got a pair of these, great value and good balance. Bad points: bit painful after 1hr+ of use, and not noise blocking enough if used in noisey environmentshapesalad
