Why do people keep using "...driving a car...", "...gas line...", "....bomb...." as excuses??
This is simple. With the exception of one or two domestic terrorists, what do all these lunatics kill with?? Guns!! Fuck man, it's not that difficult to read the facts.
Would they have built a bomb? Perhaps, but I doubt it. Knife? Maybe, but wouldn't get far. Car? Never.
FACT is that guns are killing machines, nothing more. They give the POWER to the person wielding them. Bombs don't. Knives, eh, a little, but again so easily stopped it is pathetic to even compare. Cars, obviously not.
There is a large psychological factor here people are overlooking. These people have all snapped, most looking for some kind of personal revenge, but ultimately it is about POWER. A gun gives someone that power, that direct connection to killing. NOTHING else does this.
Martial law. Take every single God damn gun and melt them. I hear commodities are up anyway.
Or, more seriously:
#1 Ban handguns/assualt rifles (and anything that carries more than 3 rounds) w/out lengthy classes/licenses (money goes to families of victims)
#2 Buy back and incentives to get the guns on the street off
#3 Harsh penalties for anyone caught with illegal weapons (like jail and 5 years of community service helping children)
#4 Eventual outlaw, with random sweeps of everywhere suspected

For all you saying stronger gun control won't make a difference...unless you have stats, you don't know. It's time to test it. We have to do something and I believe there is now political will to take a stand. I'd think anyone who does not want a broad gun ban would be well served in helping figure out how to change this shit.
