Once King Of Creativity And Marketing, Apple Struggles
http://hereandnow.wbur.org/2014/…- and there begineth the endethfadein11
- yeah, the only thing the had going for them was tv spots *facepalmmonospaced
- this shit again? people have been saying the same rubbish about apple since the 80's.inteliboy
- considering all the haters and media scrutiny, you'd think there was some kind of conspiracy to bring Apple down.inteliboy
- I mean, Sony or MS or Google or any other company on the face of the earth doesn't get consistently shat on like this.inteliboy
- They make phones and computers for fucks sake.inteliboy
- < yep and also claim to change the world with every mediocre update/tweak of jobs innovationsfadein11
- No they don't make that claim.monospaced
- Yes they do********
- No, they don't.monospaced

i think the iWatch, if it comes, will not be a watch at all, it will be a bracelet with a gyro, bluetooth and a microphone to control siri via a mix of gestures and voice commands.
For example with Apples new home automation you can leave your iPhone in the living room while your bracelet is able to switch lights on and off when you enter the room :) And then you can open the door via voice command when it rings and you don't have the phone right there
- that's what I was saying a couple years agomonospaced
- No it isn't********
- Yes it is.monospaced

- < lol @ evidence to backup ludicrous claimsfadein11
- ludicrous? I only said that a couple years I was talking about apple getting into automation with a wearablemonospaced
- took a google search to find the "evidence" in about 20 secondsmonospaced
- How pathetic you are********
- what's more pathetic, coming in the thread to talk shit on the side, or proving a point?monospaced

There will be no iWatch. It is too specific a form factor, too small of a screen, not enough people who wear watches, too many fashion elements to account for, and the nano can already easily take it's place.

Apple should make a ..

Then with watches, there is another problem; Apple makes luxury or at least premium products. A Watch that is luxury costs way more than casual Apple products, so even a $1000 Apple watch would not be worn if the owner has a $10.000 Breitling watch.
I think this is the main reason not to build a Samsung Galaxy Gear-like form factor device.
- by watch I don't think they are trying to compete with luxury timepieces - this is wearble tech - nothing to do with fashion watches.fadein11
- you could essentially have one on each wrist. Having either or either wrist instantly makes you a cunt anyway********
- damn, I didn't know you had a $10k breitlingmonospaced
- No, he didn't.********
- @mono lol I'm a designer, too broke for a watch at all :/mekk

It doesn't matter what they do, people on the internet will still hate Apple.
- yeah but why? we used to love themhans_glib
- nothing has happened. people hated the ipod, the ipad, and macs in the 80's/90's.inteliboy
- hated them so much that they bought enough to allow them each to dominatemonospaced
- oh... hahamonospaced
- No they didn't********
- they are popular. thats why. like an indie band that become big.benfal99
- People hate Apple now because they have become Goliath. David is dead.utopian
- Apple wasn't popular when the iPhone came out. In fact, most people said it was a stupid idea. Same with iPod.monospaced
- so, popularity didn't cause the buys, it was the fact that they had superior products that were useful and well designedmonospaced
- mono is right. look up forums, even apple rumor fan sites, when these products came out - lots of whining.inteliboy

The band of the iWatch will have to be replaceable with third-party bands. In order to have the huge secondary market just like cases.
Different colors, materials, styles, gender specific, etc.

Apple should achieve something thats not product oriented.

Guess who's not paying taxes?
Some of the world's most well-known companies like Apple, Google, Facebook, Boots and Starbucks have become successful partly by convincing us through their products that their corporate values align with consumers' personal values.
But what happens when these companies behave in ways that seem to betray our trust? What if you find out that these companies keep their huge profits offshore and out of reach of domestic tax authorities?
Will people challenge them -- "You want to change the world and have us pick up the tab?" Yes, people are voicing their discontent. At Apple's Worldwide Developers Conference in June, protesters loudly criticized Apple for keeping $54.4 billion offshore to avoid paying U.S. corporate taxes.
