So with you on this one. Santa didn't die on a cross so that we could all say "Happy Holidays" to one another. WTF?!

Is it weird that Santa is an anagram for Satan?

Ugh. I am an agnostic, and really dislike these atheists who complain about religion forcing views on them, then they turn-around and do the same by forcing their lack of belief. Let people have their own choices. A symbol doesn't hurt you unless you make the concious choice to let it. Not being Christian doesn't blind me to the tradition and meaning of the Christmas holiday.
- ^ I'm with you on this thing being ridiculous, and "Not being Christian doesn't blind me to the tradition and meaning of the Christmas holiday. "
but wanting a lack of religious symbols in public does not equal forcing down believes.Peter - ... tradition and meaning of the Christmas holiday. "

- It's a temporary symbol. It's not there all year. I look at it as a decoration.ETM
- Hell rotate it with symbols for all religious holidays through the year.ETM

How is a crucifix relevant to christmas?
It makes sense at easter but not christmas.
I don't care what religious things people put up, but at least let them be relevant to the festival- "happy birthday little baby jesus...btw here's the instrument of torture you will die by"BaskerviIle
- Christ. Mass. It's a celebration for baby Jeebus. Crucifix is a symbol for his martyrdom. Duh.monospaced

Why is it when the issue is gun control, you Yanks cling to the Bill of Rights as infallible, but when it comes to the separation of church and state, that amendment is irrelevant and anyone who brings it up is a terrorist?

i_monk - we, here in the US, like to selectively choose who, what, where and why, depending on how it suits our own personal bias.
What you are speaking of is logic, something that I don't believe is in the constitution, literally, either. :-)
