"Joe Biden is a corpse with hair plugs whose idea of “empathy” is to jam fingers in the sternums of people who ask the wrong questions, or call them “fat” or “full of shit,” or dare them to “try me” — and that’s if he remembers what state he’s in. Is he a better human than Donald Trump? Probably, but his mental decline has hit Lloyd Bridges-in-Hot-Shots! levels and he shares troubling characteristics with the president, beginning with a pathological struggle with truth.

Biden spent much of 2020 lying about everything from his Iraq War vote to his educational history to a fantasy about being arrested in South Africa with Nelson Mandela. The same press that killed him for this behavior in the past let it all slide this time. Same with the growing ledger of handsy-uncle incidents that had adolescent girls and campaigning politicians alike wondering why a Vice President needs to smell their hair or plant lingering kisses on their heads while cameras flash.

Biden’s entire argument for the presidency, and it’s a powerful one, is his opponent."

    https://www.nytimes.com/2020/11/…

Great article on "Why You Can't Rely on Election Forecasts"

    EXCERPT 1:
"If a probability model gives a candidate a 53 percent chance of winning, that means that if we ran simulations of the election 100 times, that candidate would win 53 times and the opponent 47 times — almost equal odds.

In its final forecast in 2016, FiveThirtyEight gave Hillary Clinton a 71.4 percent chance of victory. (The digit after the decimal providing an aura of faux precision, as if we could distinguish 71.4 percent from 71.5 percent.) All that figure really said was that Mrs. Clinton had a roughly one-in-three chance of losing, something that did not get across to most people who saw a big number. "

    Excerpt 2:
If I read that there is a 20 percent chance of rain and do not take an umbrella, the odds of rain coming down don’t change. Electoral modeling, by contrast, actively affects the way people behave.

    Excerpt 3:
I’m not sure there is a meaningful difference between, say, a 20 percent and a 40 percent chance of winning. That’s another way of saying these forecasts aren’t that useful, and may even be harmful if people take them too seriously.

    • Excerpt 2 does not compute. The rain rain prediction actively affected your behaviour not to take an umbrella.tangoxray3
    • Excerpt 1: 71.4 is closer to 75 than 66.6%. So it’s a 3 in 4 chance of winning.tangoxray3
    • Or 1 in 4 chance of losing.tangoxray3
    • 4 years ago should have already taught us this, people are dumb though, its easier to just be told what to think.moldero
    • The rain happens regardless of your umbrella. They didn't say the odds of getting wet. They said the odds of rain don't change. It's pretty simple.nb

    the most tricky state

    POLL: US Presidential Election, Florida

    Biden: 47%
    Trump: 44%

    (NY Times/Siena)

Look, all these polls coming out right now are picked from thousands of polls being done to craft a narrative.

More importantly, most current poll reporting is like "Biden leads this state by 3 points, Trump leads that state by 2 points" and they are referencing polls which have a +/- 3 pts margin of error.

This means they literally might as well say "this poll tells us that we know, to a certainty... we absolutely know that our poll tells us that we don't have a clue who will win that state."

    Don't, don't, d-don't believe the hype.

So many people have early-voted in Brooklyn* that this morning there were NO LINES at a few of the voting places.

    Yikes.

Not sure what this means for Tuesday.

    (*heavy anti-trump territory)

    • What do you mean? You're worried that things could be usurped, or that it's an absolute landslide against him?Nairn
    • I posted this before, over 90 million ppl already voted!grafician
    • Well, people are saying that early voting suggests a Biden win, but if everyone early votes there won’t be more votes come Election Daynb
    • Trump may win, but never New York. New Yorkers aren’t idiotsnb
    • New York is going to vote for Biden by a huge margin, not much question there.yuekit
    • yeah but amassing MAGA people on an Election day during a pandemic is a quick way for Trump to lose...grafician
    • Read somewhere there are about 160 mil. voters, so if 90 mil already voted and many of them for Biden...but we'll see.grafician
    • Biden needs to win by about 10 points to make it a definitive win after Election day in most states...grafician
    • Trump should leave the country if he lost, no way he's not going to jail after these 4 years, not to mention his entire entouragegrafician
    • Sure but you can’t count Brooklyn as representative of the country. As I said, it’s heavy anti-trump territorynb
    • @nb Brooklyn or NY can balance out Iowa or Texas maybegrafician

I'm betting 4:1 the Trump wins this one.

    • sorry, betting odds are not my strong point. I mean to say I'm 80% predicting Trump has it, 20% Biden.shapesalad
    • UK bookies offering 50:1 on Trump winning the election. I'm really tempted to put money on this cos I have no confidence in the US voting him out.microkorg
    • f*ck actually cant find those odds anywhere now. wish i'd jumped at it when i saw it!microkorg
    • Betting based on what though, just a general impression?yuekit
    • You got to remember Trump barely won last time. His margins were as small as 0.2% in some states. And he never had majority support of the country.yuekit
    • And that was before pandemic. I would never rule out he could win, but anyone saying he's definitely going to win I always wonder what the reasoning isyuekit
    • Yeah, I guess hard to make a calculated prediction, didn't know about the won margin before. Still... could they not put someone stronger against Trump?shapesalad
    • Prediction markets overall seem to have it 65-35 in Biden's favor. That seems about right to me. There would need to be a significant error in the polling andyuekit
    • turnout for Trump to have a chance. Which is possible...he surprised everyone in 2016, although like I said by a very small margin.yuekit
    • US elections are often very close, but taken at face value this one doesn't look close. Looks like a landslide for Dems. But people are reluctant to say thatyuekit
    • because of what happened in 2016.yuekit
    • aye. I have a feeling the polls are now overcorrected and it will be a win for Biden. They will need.a landslide.tank02

    I'm from Delaware.

Where Biden is from, its a super Opioid crisis (hence Hunter)... this is the biggest joke, and I know first hand because I know the people from Claymont. They (the residents) put up flyers to "warn" about the local heroin dealer. Which is hilarious and sad at the same time. Its only there because his supply is tainted lol... They make it seem like Hunter had to do some digging in the 'hood' to get his crack, nope - its right at home for him... heck, maybe he's got something to do w the supply-chain gettin millions and all
