Sorry mate but stop being a wimp. What can he do? He stole your work. As someone here said... post his name and website here and qbnonymous will do the rest.
Ring the cunt up and see what he has to say.

If it was me, I would just "meh" the whole thing. Could be a lot more trouble than it's worth to deal with these people. They have far too much time on their hands and can be really bitter and nasty when they're defensive.
I would just send one last email saying "look, please just take it down and there won't be any more trouble"
- Find out who it is first. How much resources someone has if they have to steal work to show for a business?yurimon

that's probably the best thing to do.
you can also show and promote the work online (social media), to get the word out it's your work! also make sure search engines know it's your work. use same tags as they use and beat them with seo.
- Also get a restraining order if u wanted.yurimon

People who deal in vague threats like "it will be bad for business" tend not to have a leg to stand on. If you feel youve been wronged, take it to a lawyer.

A: Whatever you do, don't post the site here :) Sure, it'll be fun for all us here, but it'll be stuck on the Goog with a trail leading to it, which could end up making things worse in the end.
B: Find out where they're located first and what country they're in. Go to a whois (i.e.: who.is) and check the registered domain and see where they're located. It is possible they're using a fake registered name but showing that it's a designer, I doubt they're doing all that.
C: If you're in the US and they're in the US, then they're fucked. I don't know about other countries. They threatened you as well as stole your work. Really up to you at that point how far you want to take it. You will win whatever the case is.
D: My best guess is they're in Russia, or he's a 13- y/o boy who's doing amazing work in 6th grade, and you're fucked.

I'm consistently surprised by the number of threads like this that get posted. Along with the "Client didn't pay me" or general client payment questions.
Design education is really failing–so many of us do not understand these fundamental issues that are so important to earning a living doing what we do. Good thing there's QBN. Hopefully you can tell the difference between the good advice and bad.
Also, I don't want this to be taken as a judgement against the OP. It sucks to be in that position and on top of it be unsure how to handle it. I recommend finding an attorney of you think this threatens your livelihood even a little. Good luck, let us know how it turns out.
- I think these threads are one of the best things QBN can provide the community.monospaced
- Agreed. I wasn't admonishing the posters or these posts. Just a little dismayed that it's so common.jtb26

Write an invoice with an offer to settle it out of court. Their lawyer will tell them to accept it. Also fix a deadline for payment so they have to a) accept payment or b) contact lawyer who will tell them to better pay.
If they do not react after your deadline (make 2 weeks), write another letter giving them one week to react, then get a lawyer.
Also document it, make screenshots or whatever, get a witness who is not a family member, a lawyer is always the best witness you can get.
Ripping off someone's work is not acceptable between businesses and you should let them feel that.
