Past noon I was drinking beers with friends, and dad phoned me with my mother screaming so loud in the back. They' were 140 km far from home, but I told him to get back to our region and I'll wait for them in emergencies...
Now she is better, she had a good night, but the pain attacks are becoming more frequent and intense.
She doesn't want to go through surgery, but the trigeminal has no other choice, and the older she is, the worse the recovery will be...
Arghh!! I hate going to docs on vacations, but I'm in this world, thanks to her :(
- Oh god, shouldn't have looked that up. Your poor mom, that sounds awful.garbage

what would you folks choose between an M1 Macbook Pro or a top spec M3 Macbook Air? Both around £1500
- Depends on what you use it forspl33nidoru
- Music and adobe CS. Not much video, if any at all.Ianbolton
- The Prografician
- Thanks Graf. I'll get the Air then ;-)Ianbolton
- My MacBook Pro from 9 years ago still runs like a champ. I don't use it as often since i have a Mac StudioBabySnakes
- I’d go M3nb
- Aren't MBPs a designers best friend? Not sure these days.canoe
- it feels like MBPs are really more geared toward photo/video than design these daysmonospaced

I'm about to install Autodesk Flame 2025 on my mac and nobody can stop me.
Remember how this bad boy was only running on SGI machines until about 10-15 years ago?
It has come a long way since then.
- Video is from 1997 and Flame could already do stuff that AE still to this day can't really do. Like native real 3D compositing, 3D import/ 3D Text.NBQ00

My mom moved into an independent/assisted living facility last month. She's met a lot of other elderly residents but they're all in various states of health. Memory loss, bad hearing, walkers, scooters, etc. After hearing her stories of meeting her new neighbors I asked if it would be helpful if she had a "business card" to hand out. Stuff like her name, room number, phone number, her interests - words with friends handle lol.
She's into it, so I'm doing it - fun to be designing something for the first time in a looooong time- Well I'm a (relatively) shit son!
Thanks @stoplying for upping the mother/son relationship(s) 'round here!
: )ideaist - You know the requests for these cards are going to come flooding in!mort_
- Might as well make a template for the whole facility :)monospaced
- Maybe some "do not disturb" signs for the doors toomonospaced
- Might want to add some other info too
https://uk.news.yaho…whatthefunk - Aw man. I dread the day my dearest mama gets to that stage in life. She's a spry and very active 71 year old, so it doesn't seem soon.jagara
- Cards are a good idea. Make it look pretty!jagara
- Sounds lovely. My gran went into a nursing home and ended up marrying the old guy next door. They had to wear name badges for the first 6 months or so!!Ianbolton

Your mum!! ;-)
My mum (and this is a quick, short story) had to go into hospital recently. It's been a bit of an ordeal, but she had some breast implants when she was 19 because of a genetic condition we have in our family called Ecto-Dermal Dysplasia. It's a bit of a cunt as she never had breasts develop; neither of us sweat, have many teeth, hair is super fine and was pretty much gone by our late teens - so it's safe to say growing up wasn't always great.
Anyway, she had these implants fitted when she was 19 and she's now 65. They've been leaking and making her poorly so needed to get them removed. The NHS specialist said they could remove them but wouldn't be able to replace them on the NHS, but considering they're ONLY SUPPOSED TO LAST 10 YEARS, it seemed wild nobody ever contacted her to see how they're doing after 46 years.
She had the operation the other week after they finally agreed to replace them, but it's taken her almost a year to get them to operate - but thankfully it was all cost-free and kinda painless. She does need to wear some quite gross drainage bags for a few weeks though and she doesn't understand the idea of 'rest and do nothing'.
So there you go, my mum had a tit job. That's the story!!
- Hope she has a speedy recovery mate.xxmort_
- 46 years after? Incredible... Hope she get well soonOBBTKN
- That's some madness. Hope she feels better soon. Should have got it free because they should have been replaced 3 times by now.PhanLo
- Thanks. Bit mad isn't it? All she wants to do is decorate her living room as she retired a few months ago.Ianbolton
- So when are you getting your implants?
xNairn - I'm obviously being cautious mate. Surely they last more than 10 years these days? And can they deal with some big masculine hands fondling them all day long?Ianbolton
- Hoping for an easy recovery for hestoplying
- God damn, that is madness. Best to her.garbage
- My family is ecto too. My sister and her kids got it real strong. I read that our disorder is thought to be the origin of the vampire mythos. Cheers, cuz.tbgoodwillie
- ^ No way man. I don't know anybody else who has it outside of our family. Do you have any of the problems associated with it?Ianbolton
- Tiny teeth some of which never fully erupted and I overheat, nothing like my sister. She passes now, but when she was a kid it was really hard. Its funny...tbgoodwillie
- when I see an Ecto person they look so much like my family I want to say something. I saw that our most famous cousin, Michael Berryman, has written an autobio.tbgoodwillie
- Oh wow, interesting stuff. Good to meet a fellow ED guy. How the fuck did Berryman last in the desert where temps get to over 100 degrees?Ianbolton
- Guess I'll need to read his bio to find out.Ianbolton
- Word!!! I need to go back to where my genes came from, cooler in Moray than L.A.... Keep cool.tbgoodwillie

The peaches from Palisade, Colorado are out. Find em if you can. Never thought I'd be this excited about peaches. Also never thought I'd get old.
- Sorry, they are in season here now, along with plums, apricots, brignons...OBBTKN
- Honestly didn't know Colorado peaches were a thing. How do they compare to Georgia peaches?garbage

- Ok a video. Where is the stat?pango
- Here a video respond to your video. Please watch all of it from the beginning to the end.
https://youtu.be/PLO…pango - So you have nothing smart to say to the video I posted except being ignorant about Islam and continue to simp for this shit religion.NBQ00
- Lol you got nothing smart to say but more fear mongering video. I asked for stats but this is all I got. At what time stamp is the stat?pango
- It's not like I kept changing what I asked. I asked the same thing over and over but you kept evade and evade lolpango
- it's like son or yurimon again. you ask them any substantial evidence and they just post more stupid videos.pango
- It's almost like they're all related!! The race-baiting is tedious/tenuous but actually offensive to me - being the most Islamic gay person on QBN/InternetIanbolton
- Ian did you convert to Islam? I mean at least in the UK you won't get jailed or physically harmed for being gay unlike in the middle east.NBQ00
- Sure did mate. Come join me. I think you'll like it.Ianbolton

The good and the bad of living near a gastronomic club, right now they are grilling sardines and chops... and we just finished eating.
But the worst thing; today is a holiday and everything is closed to be able to emulate it :(

That's a bit sad :(Nairn - Nothing wrong with IKEA shelves considering the material quality and how affordable they are.monospaced

alright my turn to rub it all over your face.
I've had my best year in the last 7 years. It was a slow progress but I'm finally not drowning.
Housing situation sorted. No more garage with hot plate and no ventilation.
Credit cards bill dealt with.
Replaced bunch of my 10+ yrs old dying gears. Although my computer is the *same as 10 years ago but it's more of a "ship of theseus" situation.
Made more bridges then I previously burned. And I burned a lot of bridges.
Still healthy and I really don't have a clue how that is possible...
